Nice vid. I've long been searching for explanations and drills to learn to strike like they do in Systema. It's great that you also tell how your way of striking distinguishes itself from boxing.
Good point, Instructor. Im still working wirh what you said that "Even people without legs can move," and the principle of Autonomy of the Legs, in fact, the whole body...much to learn, much to unlearn.
That principle alone (the spinal engine) has been one of the biggest breakthroughs for both my students and my self in power generation and injury prevention.
That's a tough one. It permeates everything we do. Definitely level 2 joint mobility for a routine to employ it in your everyday movement. I would say that is the key one. Beyond that, wave striking for application to hitting would also be a good starting point. I refer to it in a lot of downloads, but I would start with mobility. Remember to use the coupon SUMMERREWARD to get 30% off until June 15. Let me know if you have any questions.
Can someone please explain to me the difference between Systema and combat Systema I know you people have great minds that's why I come to you people so much you are very knowledgeable
Jerry Chan systema is a general term for a branch of Russian military martial art. There are different lineages-retuinskih’s ROSS, the original Kadochbijov version etc. The version I started with was purely combative but then slowly evolved to include religious beliefs which wasn’t for me so I broke off and created a distilled version that only focused on combat and biomechanics. We are still constantly evolving cross training and integrating.
Michal Bukvai I don’t do intuflow as I’ve never trained with Scott but yes I absolutely teaching natural acrobatics , joint mobility and breath work. I have dozens of videos on mobility and breath at KevinSecours.com and many clips on this on UA-cam
Hi sr kevin Sr plz answer me a this question because my mind a tired for thinking a this idea: Is the wing chun or jkd are effective in real street fighter and you system is very effective and are you entre a technique of him in your systeme?. Thank you very much sr
I think it’s a question of preference. For me it depends on the interpretation. I think Jkd is more balanced and can include clinching and ground fighting in some approaches . In my experience with wing chun this is lacking but the governing principles are well intended. I just don’t Personally like the more classical interpretation as beautiful as it is. I agree with Matt Thornton that clinching nullifies trapping
There is a ton of power in this shot-this is just an isolation drill to reduce bicep antagonism, improve surfacing and understand mechanical differences. Check out my renovated boxing trailers to see it at fuller speed and power
In western boxing ...but there are many approaches to striking that use hooking strikes that generate power from the arm, including bare knuckle boxing, Okinawan karate, and in some contexts, like clinch fighting, even mma. It's a big world out there.
I'm a legit boxer and very skilled in Muay Thai. Most fight videos would get your ass kicked, but this guy is real deal knows his stuff!

Jørg C. Ehrhardt Thanks for watching
Nothing against boxing but Systema punches sink deeper inside you.

Kevin Secours hi Kevin, which of the new downloads incorporates mother spinal engine?

@@Combatprofessor Mr. Secours I value your work very highly, but do you still do the health part of systema? The intuflow of Scott Sonnon?

Praticing a drill similar to this but taking light strikes to the face during a seminar almost got knocked out by a woman.🤣
Great video!
Thanks for watching
Nice technique
So could u combine that with the movement of ur tricep shoulder and hip rotation for even more power
Absolutely. Always. This is just an isolation of the flex ion. Truces is less involved but definitely hip, thorax, shoulder and a drop step.
Wow thats great so little effort that u need
Very nice.

Power?

Ahhh i see
If you relax your joints just right your hand will work like a whip, increasing the speed and with it the power.
sir I want see hand grab
bicep is NOT the most overlooked muscle in the arm what the hell
+Laura Hoffarth for punching? I always think tricep first.
