    BuJo book and community really saved me. 😍 I don't think I'd be able to gain so much insights and make the right decisions with all that mess happened in the past few months without the method. :)
    I'm a very wordy person so I use up much more pages for each day and even put a bunch of doodles. But that's amazing about the flexibility of the BuJo.
    My personal addition was to use tape to make tabs for collections I flip to often and monthly logs. Even with the index, it's just nice to flip to these pages quickly.

    question: if i'm understanding this right, if you use monthly, weekly and daily logs would this mean that some tasks would be rewritten multiple times as you move it from month -> week -> day? and does this count as part of a migration?

    • @bulletjournal
      @bulletjournal  2 місяці тому +3

      Yes - though it might get more broken down from Monthly to Daily. It is a function of the method where you have decided this was important enough to carry forward, and today is the day it is relevant

    Thank you for this suggestion but doesn't work completely for me. It's ok with the past week's resume but not for upcoming week tasklist. I prefer to migrate tasks to the monthly task list already created: having to look for tasks into many places could be confusing for me.

    • @bulletjournal
      @bulletjournal  2 місяці тому

      Ah! This is one of the major updates from the book to the Bullet Journal course. Each Sunday if you do the weekly ritual, you'll first do a reflection on how the week went on the left page, and then you filter through your remaining tasks to make sure everything is still relevant and important for the upcoming week into your new weekly action plan (task list) on the right page.

    • @Andrew-dg7qm
      @Andrew-dg7qm 2 місяці тому

      Yes, it seems new. Don’t you now have an extra list to migrate?
      I developed my own weekly spread but struggled with the additional bullets so I don’t use bullets on the weekly log.
      I use it like a dashboard and abandon it at the end of the week referring back to the daily log, mo they Tasklist and major project collections (similar to monthly tasklist but totally devoted to projects, not office). I should note it’s not a personal BUJO, I have a separate book for that.
      What do you suggest about how to manage the weekly Tasklist when it’s not complete? Are these task bullets always copies of bullets migrated from elsewhere? If not, how do you manage the duplicate open bullets?

    • @Andrew-dg7qm
      @Andrew-dg7qm 2 місяці тому

      What I’m saying is that when I use a weekly Tasklist I simply copy task bullets and write them in a list without billeting them. This tells me that they are copies of bullets. Having no bullet is a visual cue that the tasks “live” on a list elsewhere and reminds me not to add new tasks to this list without first adding them (with a bullet) to the daily log first or to the project log (collection)

    0:54 Hi Ryder, thank you for making this video and for inspiring my journaling process! I started making this spread last week and it's wonderful. I just have a couple of questions for you about them because I'm quite confused.😕
    1. On the weekly reflections page, do you typically rapid log the notes as the days go by in the week or do you just write a reflection only at the end of the week? 2. If your daily logs for the week go for as many pages as it takes, how do you manage to consistently make the weekly reflections page the page on the left and the weekly tasks list the page on the right? In other words, if your last daily log/used page falls on the left page, do you write the weekly reflections on the right page or you leave the right page blank and skip straight to the next left page available? Thank you again and keep inspiring us! 🍀

    • @bulletjournal
      @bulletjournal  7 місяців тому +2

      Hi! Great question. So 1) The weekly reflection is done at the end of the week so you can review everything and write about what comes up or stands out. 2) I tend to keep the reflection on the left side so sometimes that means a blank page. Hope this helps!

    I just discovered this Bullet Journaling and I’m very curious to try it out. I’m a freelancer and I work on appointments…I have no problem managing time for my job: I’m precise and I schedule my week easily… but with my routine changing from week to week it’s hard to find the time to do other things in my life, especially to invest my spare time constructively. You always start from the purpose when making a BuJo but honestly I have no goal, I just want to check where my free time goes during the week and what kind of patterns I naturally follow. Maybe I’ll find out I can make better choices with my spare time.
    I have just one question: is there a functional way to track incomes? I don’t have one payday, so I need to track when clients pay me and when I spend money. Could collections serve the purpose? Do you think it’s better to have 2 separate collections for income/outcome or just one?
    Thanks for your reply and thanks for sharing this very good method.

    Hello Ryder! Love the BuJo method, been trying to be consistent with it for a few years now (though I first learned about it way longer ago 😅).
    Thanks for this video on the weekly log, this looks very useful, so I started trying to implement it last week, and I'm already hitting a snag: how do you handle a month transition when it does not happen on the same day as your week transition? (Almost always, basically - 11 out of 12 months this year.)
    - For me, weeks start on Monday (just saying, as I understand some people start their week on Sunday).
    - I have my weekly spread for weeks 12 and 13 ("03.20~26 (w12)" on the left side and "03.27~04.02 (w13)" on the right side). Reflection on the left, tasks on the right.
    - Tomorrow's April 1st (Saturday). So tonight or tomorrow morning, I'm planning to do my monthly reflection and migration: create the April spread, migrate March pending tasks (some go to April, some to the future log, and the rest trash), and also bring future log tasks to April.
    What feels weird is that I have two non-daily places where to pick tasks from: the weekly spread that I started last Monday and the monthly spread that I'll create tonight.
    Though we're only talking about two weekend days, it could be more, and my impression is that I have broken the system a bit: usually, there is one place to look at one place when starting my day, but during this transition phase, there are two? How do you deal with this yourself?

    • @jessatlife
      @jessatlife Рік тому +1

      You wouldn’t start a weekly log for the first week of the month. You migrate from that last daily and start over with just the new monthly log, then open a daily next. At the end of that first week, then you perform the first weekly reflection and migration for the new month. I think this works better when you also incorporate the monthly reflections. It’s the reflections that smooth the transition between logs.

    • @DavidStosik
      @DavidStosik Рік тому

      @@jessatlife I’m not talking about the beginning of a journal, but when I’m in the middle of it. Look at the beginning of April for example. On April first, when it was time to make my monthly spread, I had a weekly spread for the weeks 03.20-26 and 03.27-04.02, which I wrote on 03.26. In that spread’s right page, I have tasks for the week to come, that I may do in March, or in April. When April 1st come, how do I migrate tasks?

    • @I_am_the_one101
      @I_am_the_one101 5 місяців тому

      Another question is how do you end and start a new month with weekly logs involved. for example for the month of November, 4 weeks is 7 days. Would I begin a new weekly log from the 29th to the 6th or start a new weekly log from the 1st of December to the 7th of December? @@bulletjournal

      Give yourself a few months focusing on your base system. After a few months, you will probably find during your end of month reflections that some of the things you set as priorities at the first of the month were completely forgotten by the end of the month.
      At that point, spend some time each weekend reflecting on your week.
      Review the priorities you set at the month start... what progress have you made?
      What did you accomplish for the week?
      What did you forget that you want to focus on in the upcoming week?
      What are your essential activities for the upcoming week?
      Write this all down as a weekly log and include a task list for the week.
