Water temperature matters alot for Flowerhorns...make sure u have a very good heater that is specifically for the tank size 👌 oh and another thing keep the tank clean always
Patio tanks, how do you feel about substrate? I ask because all of your tanks are bare bottom. I had a flowerhorn, had a gravel substrate. It must've gotten stressed because the heater broke, and swallowed a piece of gravel. It died, but loved keeping these fish.
Look at my more recent videos. I use substrates only appropriate for flowerhorns though. Other than that, I would recommend bare bottom. I use river rocks because they get to play with the rocks and it somewhat does hold bacteria.
@@PatioTanksFlowerhorns agreed! in winter heater would be needed. Thinking i will set heater at 85 and see how that goes. I need to see how it is in the summer to really know. thanks for your help
It can be a lot of things like showing dominance by marking his spot, clearing up the area to make it more comfortable for him, early signs of internal parasites, maybe that’s his behavior, aggression, skin irritation, and so many more. Just monitor your fish and make sure it’s fine even after some weird activities.
@@PatioTanksFlowerhorns I have only pure rock salt, heater, and methalene blue, potassium permanganate, magnesium sulphate so pls tell me which should I use and how
@@JAYDEEPONWHEELS make sure your tank temp is around 84-86. You can use melafix and pimafix. You already have a lot of good stuff already if those don’t work, try what I recommend. Make sure you do daily water change if it really is sick. Is your flowerhorn active or it’s sitting at a corner?
Lol, “food does a phenomenal job at keeping them alive”.
Nice
Test the tank of 3 that is cloudy for ammonia.
Have you ever had a pimple come out on the body ?
Yes I have. I just pour melafix and pimafix. Usually does the work for me. It wasn't a big deal.
Not enough water changes u don't say

95 degree water what you think? putting a tank in my boiler room
and in summer can get hot in there. only flowerhorns in there
95's pretty hot. I think anywhere between 82-86 is perfect.
@@PatioTanksFlowerhorns ok thanks im not sure if it will get 95 tbh but it gets hot in the room in the summer
@@scottrobert2724 way too hot. If room is hot, no need to add heater in my opinion.

24/7 heater to run.

If your place you live in is very humid and hot, you dont need to. My place gets hot only about 4-5 months. The rest is cold. So I keep heater
@@PatioTanksFlowerhorns ok noted thk
How long did it take for your large flowerhorn to reach that size
About a year
I feel like that tank of yours is unstable with those blocks underneath
It's uneven but it's pretty stable
26degree alright mate?
Prefer 28 degree Celsius or maybe 29.
During summers also 28 degree?
What ph is your water?
Its a little high since these flowerhorns like it high. 8.6-9.3
Um ur tanks look like shit there cloudy as hell and get them off them cinder blocks that's not stable and they will blow out eventually
Bro can u pls tell me why my fh sometimes scratching himself into the bottom of the tank?
