    I wish I had the skill to do repairs like this. I’ve been watching this channel for many many years now and have always loved these videos. I’m so glad you have time to make and post more recently. Oddly relaxing to watch before bed.

      Really kind of you to say and thank you. Anything is possible the more you do it. With most of these videos I try to take it from the approach that with a little trouble shooting, sometimes these things are possible. Thanks again for the support and will try to get more up soon.

    It IS a Seibu boardset. TAD must had had a tremendous budget for hardware development as their PCBs have a unique set of ASICs for each game title.

    • @lukemorse1
      @lukemorse1  2 роки тому

      Lol, I noticed that after the video. Yeah, I totally agree, I think that TAD was thinking about customizing as much as possible. My Toki pcb is the same way as well.

    Those ribbons look awfully similar IDE cables with different connectors on the end

    • @lukemorse1
      @lukemorse1  2 роки тому

    I thought I had seen thise, but I probably just say "TAD Arcade" and thought Toki. That was the one with unfortunately a questionable design of mounting a custom chip precariously on the PCB (vertically) that if I recall had gone bad, and someone fortunately made a replacement, if I recall.

    • @lukemorse1
      @lukemorse1  2 роки тому

      Thank you very much! A great question. I think it is possible to make a new cable but probably not the most fun. I would rather pick up a new set if I could find them to be honest.

    Might be easier to just make your own cables from IDE cables and use a pin pusher to re do the connectors=

    I'm definitely a novice, but why use flux when you are using rosin core solder? I thought flux was already in the solder. I am making the assumption that you are using rosin core solder.
