**UPDATE:** Just wanted to let you all know that yesterday Blizzard patched the game and made major changes to many of the things that i mention in the video. *Difficulty is massively decreased. *You are getting 900+ item power items after completion. *Dramatically increased glyph experience, thus reducing the time it takes to level the new glyph. *No more suppressor or vampiric on bosses. *and more...
Not changing sigil powder in some way was such a let down. I blew through 10 took a few back to back losses and I’m out. Farming 1000 sigil powder is not fun
This is exactly what the game devs wanted as far as reactions and player adjustments required goes. They repeatedly warned us about how AoZ was going to be a challenge, to the point of taunting players to bring their best builds (specifically Ball Sorc and HoTA Barb, for example) and see how they fare in the rifts. The first 3 minutes of this video are talking about that very thing. They warned us about it. It's not that the challenge is too steep, it's more about how there hasn't been anything really challenging in D4 S1 or 2 yet. I mean, a handful of builds and classes can breeze thru Uber Lillith, Duriel/Varsh/Grig, one shots, NM100s are trivialized, etc... I think it's a great thing that content creators like @OwnMode, Raxx, Wudi, et al are seeing the challenge for what it is and we all are better for it. Great video and channel, congrats on 1k followers - I'm one of them!
Thank you, my friend! I really appreciate the support! To be included in the likes of Raxx and Wudi is a huge honor. I'm glad to have you in our young but growing community. This meant a ton to me!
Yeah number 4 is so spot on rerolled my gear on my sorc bankrupted me of resources and now I’m stuck with some jank Frankenstein build that is way worse than my original 100 build.
I went from 200+mil to 0, 45min after launch of AOZ.
Im happy for you bud. Hitting your 1000subs and counting. Like I tell my grandfather try to keep it up ;)
LOL! I will do just that. My wife is going to think this is hilarious! She does the editing for our videos.
Great video! Looking forward to more!
Subbed
Thank you, so much!
Love the content keep it up my friends and congrats glad I could attribute.
Awesome! Thank you so much!
I had to show you some support. Good video, sub'd.
Thanks, my friend.
Increase Sigil powder and xp rewards x3 or something like that might help somewhat. Also, make it so we have 1 shared bank and every character has all the rest of the tabs for themselves. Since they can't really add more tabs from what I understand maybe that would improve the experience overall for people.
I agree, the bank is awful. One of my favorite things is to try out different builds and classes but the bank is such a nightmare that there is little to no real benefit, gear wise. Even for the uniques you still want some for that specific class. It cost way too much bag sorting, even with just two classes. Heaven forbid, you wanted to try out multiple builds as well. Sorry, for the rant! :)
Thanks for the video, I just googled AoZ to see what I needed to get in, and am close to reaching it I realized, and then I saw this video and went "naaah, that's not even fun. Gonna skip that. Going to finish the season to get the title rewards, but not going to even bother with that mechanic"
You are welcome! Also, they have made some solid improvements since this video came out that make the early tiers more manageable. At the very least I would complete AOZ Tier 1 so you can get the new glyph, it is crazy powerful!
I think the biggest takeaway is the glyph is going away, why in the heck would I spend hours or potentially 100s of hours leveling up something that I’m just going to loose in less than a month. Makes no sense to me.
Yeah, it doesn't feel worth it! I'm testing the changes today, hopefully they feel way more rewarding.
This is exactly why after the third tier I decided to not waste my time. It’s already going to be annoying enough to respec a character built around the vampiric powers after it’s migrated to the eternal realm.
The Blood glyph gives you 80 - 90 % damage even at the first level if you fill up all its neighbors with stat points. It is more than enough to compensate for your loss of dmg by putting more defense. You are expected to able to complete T1 easily if you are already good at T100 dungeon which has many mobs that shoot you. If you are not a regular T100 farmer, then this is not content for you.
The way how to dear with bloodseeker is same as how to deal with one shoot mob in T100 NM dungeon. Just identify what mechanism one shoot you and come out with a strategy to address it. You can chain stun him, and use an invincible skill like frame shield to dodge him when he is out of stun. Run away from the boss when your skill is on cool down or he is unstoppable and rinses and repeats.
Each of the T1 AOZ completions will net you a lot of Sigil powder and tons of Glyph xp for your normal Glyph for you to continue farming or try a higher tier. The AOZ has benefited us more with fast Glyph xp and also allows us to test our build against the hardest enemy. It is good content unless you want to try hard to level the temporary blood Glyph which is for the 1% hardcord player. I really don't understand why so many complaints.
The t1 was not for the regular player at release, but with the update last Friday it opened up and most people are a lot happier with it. Glad you are enjoying it.
I was in a hurry earlier, but I wanted to thank you for taking the time to post this. I think it helps everyone when someone takes the time to give their full take. Thank you, my friend!
We need to be able to save our Paragon Boards and Skill Trees so we can switch back and forth between Nightmare Dungeons and Zir.
That would save so much time!
The entire premise of grinding a soon to be disappearing glyph kills it for me.
I think it's worth at least picking it up. Even at lvl1 it is a beast. I don't think i'm going to care enough to get it to 10 much less 50 though.
@@OwnModeGaming Ya I picked it up to use for the other parts of the game :)
@@imonyourside8376 Nice!
AoZ's intro mid season 2 looks 2 be a "PTR" of sorts that may be a possible future seasonal leaderboard mechanic...
but b 4 now this new content sure is shiny & has hlp'd reinvigorate playability 4 me bc re-theory/crafting ur 1st half end game bld just 2 be able 2 play the new end game seems like they're telling the non-causal player, "STEP UR GAME UP s2 aint over yet"
changing the season's end game mid season is novel hopefully this type of creativity will remain forthcoming
I like that take. The rekindling interest mid season and even if AOZ isn't for everyone they have midwinter blight, which is far more accessible for most players. I totally agree with the level of added features this season. Overall this season has been a huge W for us all and I would love to see more in season 3.
You can build up your sigil powder pretty quickly running tier 1’s to give you a buffer against failed runs at higher levels instead of going back to nmd’s.
Yeah, the update made that possible before it was still hyper risky to run even the t1 because of the random rolls on the seekers. I think it is in a solid place right now.
Truth = new sub 😍
World bosses should be that powerfull though ;)
I would like to see stronger World Bosses even if they just add new ones that are at a whole new level. That would be cool!
I consider this a sandbox. Lets wait and see what the future seasons bring us.
You guys need to admit they are keeping us engaged.
I really like the take. I want to see something like AOZ being a bigger part of the endgame while I'm still leveling. I really do like the mechanics way more than NMDs! I think the changes they made Friday were solid. I was able to do 1-5 without much issue and it does start to get challenging beyond 6. So, players that want to push can test the limits of their build and I think a lot more players will be able to test it out and at least have a shot at the glyph.
I’ve been farming T1 and I’m on level 5 on blood glyph with my ball sorc! It’s ridiculous! To die and not know how or why? Hope this hot fix comes soon?
Yeah, I'm excited to see how those changes go.
So far good. I can run up to,6 comfortably and have glyph at level 6 on barb and sorc
@@jarnold420ja that's awesome!
Been doing the same. Farming T1 and T2 to up the glyph. Now after patch is much easier.
@@Myadventurefishing nice, let me know how it goes.
I hit a plateau with my rogue - I can clear up to nightmare 85 (need 90 for achievement). Therefore I haven't even tried to understand the Lilith movement for the kill achievement. That's as far as I can get. Tried different builds but no real change. All gear I can currently get is worthless or micro-managing values (i.e. stat x from 13.1 to 13.2%). I've had the same plateau in Diablo 3, then some rare items dropped, managed to finally get the set bonuses and from this moment on I could clear nearly every level. Season is over in a month therefore I won't get the season achievement which is needed for Zir which tbh I don't care about anymore because in a month everything gets basically trashed then moved to Eternal. In the next season I will also look for a broken build to one-shot bosses over and over to get better loot and therefore won't be stuck on a plateau again.
Thanks for the in-depth break down. I really like hearing what people are really going through. I think there is a lot more in your position than we hear about. If you are at all interested I could set up a time to carry for you and take you past 90 and take down Lilith if you want. Just let me know and we'll figure out how to connect in game.
@@OwnModeGaming Thanks for the offer helping me through parts of the content but I got lucky: Xfal, Tibault and Condemnation dropped - and as mentioned above the same as in D3 happened: I've got some key pieces of equipment and the whole game changed. With those 3 items I managed to clear a nightmare 90 flawlessly, managed to kill Lillith after some tries to get used to her mechanics and did AoZ Level 1 solo in first try and got my AoZ glyph now. Same as in D3 where with some single items your whole game experience changes..
@@alexk.9598 Awesome, glad to hear it!
For science I have been SSF leveling ToB and I started day 1 here’s my findings
Running tier 12’s in roughly 5-7mins depending on affix and mob type.
My glyph is level 26 currently and I’ve spent around 23 hours grinding it and I haven’t been 100% efficient there were a decent amount of random 1 shot deaths in that 23 hours. I’ll keep leveling it and see how long it takes to get 50. GLHF
They dramatically lowered the difficulty and increased the amount of experience per completion in a patch, yesterday, and that was after my video released. :) So, it is way different now.
@@OwnModeGaming yeah the xp increase was nice, still going to take a good amount of hours tho, unless your blasting 17-20T. It’s in the hundreds of thousands per level at 25
Awesome, man! I love this and very much appreciate your update. Thank you!
@@OwnModeGaming another update : I’m finding that solo it’s about 1 hour per level if your pushing up tiers as you level up the glyph. Mine is currently at 31 with approx 30-35 hours of grinding - I started with t10 now I’m farming t15
@@kylekilgore291 Thanks for the update. This is so cool. I would love know when you hit 50 and also what build are you running? Go get'em, man!
Take your frustration and multiply it by about x5 if you aren't playing Barb, Rogue, or Sorc. Stalled out at t10 and will never go any higher because I'm not gonna over level my Tears glyph in lower tiers to progress AND I play on console and the one Druid build like 4 people are using to surpass that plays like absolute garbage on a controller. I'm most likely done after Midwinter Blight until s3.
I was wondering about the Druid, people kept talking about the poison shred as maybe OP, but i haven't seen that myself. I have a necro and sorc at full but I don't know if i care to do more than get the glyph for the necro.
you can't sport 5 ranks of glass cannon and do aoz, you have to work on your defenses, dmg reduction, armor %, life% in paragon etc. With tob glyph you are already having a huge dmg boost, respec the rest to fit your defenses, and still don't ever expect to reach lvl 24 like hota barb. If u ever played d3 then you should know that not all builds and classes are made for pushing for great rifts in this case aoz, depending from season to season, builds and classes either get buffed or nerfed, and there's nothing you can do if you chose the wrong class for pushing gr but to change the class and build. It's either that or you think of some crazy meta build that defies the laws of physics, in this case finding exploits in the game, like snapshoting, which is a technique they do now to snapshot multiple passives simultaneously, by switching gear mid play.
Totally agree. What build are you running for AOZ?
@@OwnModeGaming My own homebrew ball lightning sorc, but I'm not really competitive in aoz, don't care about the leaderbord. I'm just doing it for the fun of it. I can do lvl 4 casually, nice for farming, I think the highest I got so far is 7, but I didn't really break my neck trying to push yet. My glyph is lvl 10 currently. Think I could do 9 with no problem if I really tried.
@@amonynous9041 Sounds like you are enjoying it, that's really cool!
I have the same opinion. Great idea implemented poorly. I've tried about 15 times and get about 60% done and some random 1 shot ends it. I don't feel like respecing my whole skill/paragon and grinding gear for and end season event with mediocre rewards.
Solid! I'm super excited to see the changes today. It seems like it covers a lot of my concerns, but we'll know when it goes live!
As for me, AoZ its a very good idea. I killed Uber Lilith, dungeon 100 was very easy, and then there was a new challenge, I died on the first run, and I liked it). Then I looked for better gear in the chest - and run it again. I liked the fact that you need to grow further
I'm glad your enjoying. At the end of the day, I really do just hope more people just enjoy playing.
Level to 100 takes min 20 hours and more like 40 hours now. But everything else I agree. Worst is the glyph disappears making it all pointless. They should at least keep it to have in Eternal realm.
Yeah, i think that 70-100 was from season 1. I don't how it would effect eternal. I've seen games add almost everything from each season and it can really clutter the game in a way that stops being fun. I'm hoping to see something in season 3 that is comparable to how cool blood harvest and end game bossing was, so i'm not even worried about the new glyph, but we'll see.
Use damage reduction when injured, 3 items total of 80%, stops the one shot kills
Is there a reason for the "when injured" vs any of the other damage reductions? I am running a ton of all damage, close, and distant reductions.
@@OwnModeGaming I think it's because an Affix of "Injured' is the largest. I.E Pants can have 40%+ Damage Reduction While Injured. It is also the largest final calculation, meaning once your HP is at 40%, the reduction applies to the leftover damage to you. It can save you from a one shot at times.
Damage to Close, Distant, and Total Reduction has diminishing returns as you add up the percentage. For Example: At 40% Damage Reduction, if you add 10% more: It is NOT 40% + 10% = 50%.... It's actually 40% + 7% = 47% (Diminishing returns. It is stupid, and the Devs left no clues to warn you of softcaps.)
Weird af.
@@yharnamiyhill787 Thanks for this update. I think this will help a lot of people and the blind softcaps do suck!
@OwnModeGaming with how vast the stat sheet is, at least they could have let us know what the softcap is for each stat.
They need to polish, especially minion stats. 130% minion damage based on what number? We don't even have stats for minions.
@@yharnamiyhill787 I would also like to see minions build being a more viable choice next season.
Hmmnn did you follow that other video by Josh, cotton and the other guy???
Cuz they lied to you
Not sure what you're trying to say or who you are talking about.
It is called the slaughterhouse of Zir...
That's the translation. That is cool. I don't know why I didn't look that up.
The average person should not be allowed into this right now.
They will whine and destroy the fun for the others that will actually contribute.
This is a test of builds for Blizzard to hopefully rebalance before S3.
This certainly is not for the average player.
And this is exactly what it is supposed to be: a constant brink of death experience.
You are supposed to reduce damage to survive.
Some classes a lot some less, and it needs to be like that for Blizzard to figure out how to balance, since balance needs to be done both in survival and dps.
If you don't like it don't play it. It is supposed to be content for the streamers/betatesters since there is no PTR for D4 and some balance needs to be done before leaderboards are introduced.
But they will eventually nerf it when they have enough data for noobs and casuals to enjoy.
P.S. Sorc has done T20, and is pretty much immortal in AoZ. With low life Selig and barriers build with Rainment for pulls.
This shows why the average player cannot contribute to this. They don't think out of the box. They get one shot left and right since they cannot figure out what makes you tough, while those that do, run immortal around. Blizzard needs their data now, and for that the content needs to be tough and grindy.
That's a unique take. Ultimately, they already made modifications last Friday and a lot of people taking the hard stance you are, never played it before the change. I think it is solid as it is, now and honestly a lot of top players are the ones that asked for a more balanced implementation and a decrease in time it takes to level to 50. But, I hope, you're enjoying AOZ!
I don’t understand why the defensive aspects have to be “activated” by attacking. It’s a stupid mechanic
That's just for Disobedience. It has stacking armour for any damage up to 66% armor increase. Or 99% if you throw that on an amulet.
@@OwnModeGaming the dark shroud also requires a critical
Hit and you have to cc the mob for one of the other aspects to work too, no?
@@OwnModeGaming I think a major defensive glyph would help in one our boards…or add to whatever glyphs boost any defense
@@spagzs that is true. I just tested the update abattoir and it is solid. I think for most people they will be able to run their previous end game build and take down t1 aoz to get the glyph. Which opens it up to a log of people.
Non-meta builds are clearing T10-15, this is inaccurate
Blizzard lowered the difficulty yesterday. So, more are definitely now and if we are being hyper technical there were outliers doing it before they decrease difficulty.
I hate it... everything is super easy.. then boss's pop and I get 1 shot...
That happen to me a ton!
leave it to Blizzard to ruin all the fun. I came back after a few weeks to check this out and tried 2 runs with lvl 1 glyphs.. didn't even get to the boss. i'm out till next season, not about to try n make a whole new build when there's not easy way to switch back
I would still check out Midwinter Blight it coming out Tuesday. That we should have no problems running with our normal builds. If you do hit it up let me know, I'd love to hear your take.
D4 is not for everyone specially for dumb players. From D1 to D4 this was a grinding game to gear up and beat what developers have created. Unfortunately a lot who bought the game are dumb so it is expected that the community have a lot of complains. Asking for end game content and whining for being difficult.. Me and my friends are blasting Aoz and ranking our glyps.. 😂😂😂
Glad you're pushing those glyphs without whining, but it's not really an issue of dumb. I would say for most it is an issue of time they can commit and how rewarding they feel it is. If we only have players that are in the top 10% deciding what's in this game, we will lose most of our player base, and then we won't see any updates or at least not very good ones. I hope that they keep pushing challenge level but I also hope they have more for every player to enjoy. Which. I think they are nailing this season with AOZ and mid winter, blood harvest, and bossing. Also, they changed the difficulty yesterday and I have found more people actually enjoying it. So, a big win!
@@OwnModeGaming then what reward do you expect? The challenge and clearing the tier is the reward itself. Your effort from grinding mats for Duriel and getting those 925s and ubers and testing your strength on Aoz is a gratification by itself. If a gamer cant clear it there might be something wrong with the build. Is that the developers fault?. I understand that feedback are important but when developers deliver and provided the expectation prior release stop being dumb😊😊
The game is a million times better than when it launched and it is not from people just sucking it up. Your experience really isn't everyone's. So, there are things that you enjoy they don't. You still have your challenge and because of the feedback that led to the update, more people will also get to experience the glyph. I think that is awesome. I want this game to be a major success. When they lowered the XP leveling requirements for season 1 and 2, there were people that said everyone was whining but if they didn't make those changes, I think our player base would do half of what it is. So, I do appreciate you you have your own opinion and you let us hear it, but ultimately calling most players dumb is pretty dumb ;)
Woot
Thank you!
I play hardcore so ya they can suck it 🤣
lol!😂
This game pisses you off more than anything else. It's never going to get better because the devs only concern is your screen time. I'm extremely disappointed with it.
I think that there is a part of the team pushing screen time, but I think there is also a decent amount wanting to take care of the player base. Like, most of the team that is front facing seems genuine in their desires to make it better, but there are too many things that seem to slow us down that keep popping up to be an accident.
i agree with the most part of your video but your number 3 shouldnt be in this video because we well knew that and how much sigli powder we need since the campfire talk like a week befor the event started, in my opinion that was more than enough time to farm up this powder, let alone the glitch that happend on day1 and now basically everyone thats watching abit of youtube is sitting around with the max of 999k sigli powder :D
I knew about the powder. I just didn't know how bad it was going to be and how much it would suck. :)
the powder takes too long to farm and its way too much needed to craft aoz sigils. the fact that they did not address this is unforgivable. the max sigil powder runs out extremely quickly leaving us to have to grind nm dungeons for too long. guess what? this is not fun and most people just dont have time. he was right…the sigil issue is something that must be adressed in a patch if they expect more people to try the aoz. mostly everybody agrees
Sounds so unrewarding. Why bother. D4 negative loop. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting, but I'm out.
You are welcome! It does sound like today's update should have made a major difference. I'm going to test it out again tomorrow.
OK. Good luck with that. I'll be in my D2r corner. Cheers!@@OwnModeGaming
Enjoy!
This is not like GRs in D3 at all other than you kill monsters and it is times. Other than that, its hardcore and the rewards are GARBAGE! If things don't get better, Blizzard needs to lay off the turds that make content like this1
I have been feeling like there is a part of the team over at Blizzard that is not in it for the players but some other weird agenda, but it can't be the money because then you would at least try to keep the player base up. Now that being said I do also believe that there is a group of people at Blizzard that really do give a crap. I am optimistic but I do think it will come together over the next year in a really solid way!
