for all we know it could of been all an hallucination from the beginning, right when he first spoke to that receptionist, my thoughts are telling me that once he started seeing this...."doctor" and taking the pills, they only made it worse, there was no doctor, but the pills were real, somehow he could of stepped into an empty room, talking to himself, saw the pills and took them, my point is there is alot of hints in this story that point to this theory of mine.but in general that receptionist should of helped and gave him the attention like she should of, otherwise he would of waited, he wouldn't of taken those pills and he wouldn't be a humanoid body of ash with skin underneath....this is obviously something to show smokers what could happen if the stress goes beyond the limit, the person snaps, the hallucinations start, and the worst things start to happen.

The idea of slowing being turned into something literally inhuman, and having your entire life snatched away, is worse than death.

For this specific story, I keep coming back because your voice fits these types so incredibly well. One of the best 'pastas ever written.
His voice make the story more intensely but scary, awesome!
Not even 2 minutes in, already loving the sort of inflection and personality you've given the main speaker. You've given him an undertone of resting sass that stands out in an amusingly captivating way.
You should narrate a whole audiobook in Dr. Winston's voice. XD It's strangely soothing.

I like how at the end, the guy sounded creepy as hell but smooth as fuck. Like, "Hey, I just want you to know that no matter how buttery and heavenly my words sound, I'm dragging you to hell, not sending you to heaven. Now... Won't you accept these pills?"

+SikeNaw Gaming Those abilities alone pretty much sealed the deal for me. If I could, I'd trade my tobacco and marijuana for being one of those docs. And yes, even knowing what the guy went through. Really the only thing you gotta watch out for is the rage and the fact that people might see you with that crud coming outta your mouth.
Here's what I think happened. when mark took the Grey pills it was meant to refer to the anger and negative affects you get after taking a cig, and it also gives you the disire to smoke more, the orange was meant to refer to the relief you get when you take a cig. the last pill, well you could say it cured him, but it turned him into a "doctor". I think the last pill and the "doctors" symbolized the people who want there friends to take some. But hey its just a theory... a very bad way to represent smoking theory, thanks for reading

Wonderfully written, and even more wonderfully narrated. The transition from cluelessness to a victim, and then the shift from a victim to a madman was written fantastically, and reflected amazingly by the voice acting. Nothing but applause, MCP - a wonderful job reflecting the protagonist's and author's psyche through the story.
This story in particular was always my favorite. Especially because of the ending.

At first i was like oh the narrator is super angry, then i remembered he's quitting smoking and it 100% feels like this. Side note, i stopped my nicotine addiction by getting really bad food poisoning one day, couldn't do anything for 3 days and i was so nauseous smoking was out of the question. I used Nicorette for a few months after that and now I'm a non smoker 😊
