I hope manufacturers will one day replace HDMI with USB C so that you can connect lightweight smartphones or tablets, and even better, VR glasses, without a capture card. Just imagine, with VR glasses you will be able to watch the image from the camera directly on the screen! This will be a revolution, I don’t understand how the manufacturers didn’t realize this!
I don't know why your camera is not labeled PRO, but according to Viltrox, the 550 PRO is the only model with a touch screen. If the standard 550 does have a touch screen, then the only difference with the PRO is some extra histograms and waveforms. From the Viltrox store: _DC-550 Pro is a touch screen version, which covers touch screen & button settings; DC-550 is a non-touch screen version, only supports button settings_
Yea I was wondering about that when I did my review but it could been a typo somewhere . Im glad you investigated it 🫡 It would be interesting if they somehow changed it since my review. I should take a look at it as I use the unit currently .
Great monitor review(s). What precise model would you recommend for the Nikon Z9, shooting 4K 25fps and 60 fps in H265 Nlog? So far I have not found a review which addresses this.
Seems like your planning to record internal? If so Atomos Ninja V+ is what I use or BlackMagic Video Assist but I had my critiques on that unit which didnt lead me to purchase. Good luck 🫡
Im still shock on how bright the monitor is. Can see very clear in bright condition. Are you asking for the weight of the unit with the hood and battery?
It seems that this monitor can mirror the Nikon camera display setup, is that right? i mean...can i see my values and my focus points? can i set the focus point with my nikon z9 and see it on the external without the need of viewing the camera monitor? thanks !!
@@tiagophotos1 I even use this as my selfie screen this past weekend. I had my radio trigger and saw all the Autofocus happening. I wish we had a flip screen but this will do and its bigger than a flip screen. Are you doing video or photo?
Recently picked up the newer f500. I should have picked this up instead. However this does not come with a battery charger. If you pickup additional batteries those most likely will not have the usb charging battery. Yours looks like the pro version which is close to 200 not the 135 you showed.
Howdie~! You are correct, this doesnt comes with a NPF charger so you will need to purchase one alone. They run roughly 20 bucks. Also the version I have isnt the PRO version. If you go to 2:08 second, zoom in close to the crossed out price, it is $168. The reason you see $134 is because this is during the holiday sale. They should be back to normal pricing at $168. It was a good deal since I seen other monitors around this price tag that isnt near as bright or sturdy. Good luck~!

Can it be used to record n-log like atmos ninja v ?
It does not. Just a viewing monitor.
Does it work with 4k 50fps recording? Seems like it supports 25fps only. Im confused and cant find answer anywhere
So you want the monitor to run 50 FPS in 4k?

It basically mirrors everything on the Nikon screen, on the monitor. So you can adjust through the external monitor correct.

Look up Atomos and black magic. Only 2 recommended.
