Awesome, thank you for the suggestion and for watching. I will definitely check it out. Btw I am finding that I love the music from Sweden (Sabaton, Hammer Fall, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, In Flames, Children of Bodom, etc…) are there other Swedish bands I should check out?
@@MattsMoshPit1 Definetely "Pain of Salvation"! While there are many amazing and kind of special albums especially older from the 90s, I recommend "In the passing light of day" which is one song of the concept album with the same name where Daniel Gildenlow (singer and head of the band) describes his hard way through a serious and life-threatening illness. That's phenomenal and worth to listen!
For me, it never gets old seeing Arjen enjoying playing in it. I'm so glad he shared that with us. Plus the commentary, we really get to "see" Arjen and I love it. Beyond his spectaculat talents, I can see why these people come back time & again to work with him.
They pulled off this song live two weeks ago and we were all like "wait...what?", absolutely mindblown. I'm totally fine with waching you going through this album song by song. The Source is also the starting point for the storyline which stretches across numerous albums. There are a few lyric videos in the playlist on Arjen's channel, for the rest I recommend Taycott's channel. He has inserted the lyrics as well as highlighted the vocalists during their parts, of course with Arjen's consent. If you want to see more of the general style of the music, then watch the Ayreon Universe live. It's a best-of-Ayreon with a few songs from every album. Everybody Dies, which will be requested quite a lot, is the 3rd song from The Source. BTW Arjen's name is pronounced like Ar-yen. Subbed in hope of more Ayreon to come. Enjoy the ride, it's a deep rabbit hole.
Thank you so much for the information and the pronunciation help. It must have been Amazing seeing it live. I can’t wait to hear more Ayreon. Thank you for watching
Arjen is awesome. And he takes care that all of his participating singers and musicians are awesome as well. He picks them carefully from all across the globe. And Arjen himself? I always say that the members of Nightwish came by rocket to mother earth to bring beauty and love to those wicked earthlings. Well, Arjen was on that same intergalactic flight. Move over Beethoven and Bach.....Here comes Tuomas and Arjen. They rule.
Here is a list of the composer and singers in order of appearance: Arjen Lucassen - Composer - Dutch singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist musician and record producer best known for his long-running progressive metal/rock opera project Ayreon. James Labrie - Lead singer for Dream Theater. Tommy Karevik - Lead singer of Kamelot and Seventh Wonder. Tommy Rodgers - Lead singer of Between the Buried and Me. Simone Simons - Lead singer of Epica. Nils K. Rue - Lead singer of Pagan's Mind and also worked with Eidolon. Tobias Sammet - Lead singer of Edguy & Avantasia. Hansi Kürsch - Lead singer of Blind Guardian and Demons & Wizards. Mike Mills - Multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and main songwriter for Toehider. Russell Allen - Lead singer of Symphony X and Allen/Lande. Michael Eriksen - Lead singer of Circus Maximus. Floor Jansen - Lead singer of After Forever, ReVamp & now Nightwish. Instrumentalists Joost van den Broek (ex-After Forever) - grand piano and electric piano Maaike Peterse (Kingfisher Sky) - cello Ed Warby - drums Ben Mathot - violin Jeroen Goossens (ex-Pater Moeskroen) - flute, wind instruments Arjen Anthony Lucassen - electric and acoustic guitars, all other instruments (composer) Next I would suggest reacting to the performances at Ayreon Universe concert, especially the following Intergalactic Space Crusaders, River of Time, Merlin's Will, Valley of the Queens, Ride the Comet, Star of Sirrah, And the Druids Turn to Stone, Age of Shadows & Everybody Dies.
So your early dive into the Ayreon rabbit hole is simple - just do ANYTHING from Ayreon Universe. Literally Anything. All that is required is to buckle in and enjoy the huge spectrum that is Ayreon...and Universe is a very rare live show with all the perks of live performance! Nice job, continue. And enjoy! Cheers rl 🤘👹🤘
This would have been (and to a degree still is) *the* most appropriate introductory title because as you have seen there's a *ton* of musicians and singers in this and you can easily go on a journey of discovery based on this song alone! I'd advice "Intergalactic Space Crusaders" (a song about a weird really dark but really campy British sci-fi show from the 70s) in the "Universe" version - it's awesome, and like most Ayreon's stuff it's more metal infused musical theatre than anything else. Best regards Raoul G. Kunz
Arjen said in a recent interview that he's sick of this song, because it's so popular with reactors, and he watches all the reactions. So good chance he already watched your reaction, or will soon, and I'm sure he'll be very pleased!
They’re not coming to America. They only perform in Holland, therefor Americans and people from over 50 countries worldwide came to Holland for 2 (or 3?) liveshows. Those shows are available on blu-ray, dvd and cd: Ayreon Universe
Last time, this September, it was five liveshows plus one dressrehearsal. They must have been soo tired after that!! They, at least Arjen, got covid afterwards. My two friends that went with me also got it. But that was all worth it! Looking forward to the next time. Only sad that I discovered Ayreon just less than two years ago.
Ayreon isn't really "they", it's more like "he", the (very) tall hippie dude. Of course, there is a permanent cast of musicians and singers he works with, and there are many more who "only" appear as guests - some frequently, like the F-bomb at the end, some only once, like Bruce Dickinson. Arjen has this rare gift of discovering and utilising other people's talents, and he's a really cool dude overall. (He's still a control freak and a LUL though.🤪)
He is very talented and has great taste in musicians he works with. I absolutely need to hear his work with Bruce Dickinson. Thank you for the information and for watching
@@MattsMoshPit1 Bruce provided lead vocals on the song "Into The Black Hole" from the "Universal Migrator" album (2000). It was also the first Ayreon album to feature Floor Jansen on backing vocals ("My House On Mars").
@@MattsMoshPit1 There is a 2022 remastered and remixed version of that album, "Into the Black Hole" sounds even better there. Ayreon also released a new lyric video to "Into the Black Hole" to accompany the remix. Enjoy 🤘
In my first Nightwish reaction I mentioned that I had been exposed to Ghost Love Score and Romanticide with Floor. I knew she was the current Nightwish singer. Instead of checking out more from Floor, I wanted to start in the beginning with Tarja. I do know that Floor is hugely popular. Anyway I hope that explains it. Thank you for watching.
This is great, nect song from Ayreon " Everybody dies " . Greetings from nwAse Sweden

Rabbit hole indeed. Enjoy the spectacle!
The concert 'Ayreon Universe Live', has so many great live versions of the music, including music from some of his other projects.
I definitely want to see the concert. It sounds amazing

That's just the first track of a concept double album, so much more awesomeness to go.
I will definitely check out more from this album. Thank you for watching
If you look closely you can say that Tommy Karevik sings with his hands in this video..
Awesome

I can confirm, Arjen has commented on several reactors of this song and yes ...he is a musical genius.
It would be awesome if he saw my reaction. Hopefully he would like it. Agreed! From what I can tell he seems like a musical genius
Go and look for Aryeon Everybody Dies Live... you see them live. Great, great, great.
I will absolutely check it out, thank you.
The whole album is on Spotify. At least it was several months ago.
Thank you, I will check it out.

Nice reaction! Are you Iron Maiden fan? Maybe you should ask Google for "Ayreon Bruce Dickinson". Have a fun🤘😁🤘
I am a Huge Maiden Fan. Someone tipped me off on the comments about the Bruce song. I need to look for it. If Bruce is involved it has to be great.
You looked shocked at the end when you saw Floor Jansen, when did you ever see her before....

Her name is actually Simone Simons not 'Simmons'...
Thank you for the clarification
