Missed the live stream so I hope an official DVD is coming out at some point. I love their live performance videos and luckily enough, they drop them quite often. Arcana is great, especially the end of the song, whet it goes even darker/heavier and Mark joins in on vocals. The choir is phenomenal. Looking forward to more new stuff or maybe even some more Symphonic Synergy videos.

Really make it easier when there is live stream tickets too. Im soo glad thats it an option for Epicas larger performances.

Friend, there is their secon show with orchestra in Mexico 12.06-07. There won't be a second chance soon. BTW. I was there!!! Fantastic show.

A little info about the song, the music was written by Rob (bass player) and the lyrics by Simone. The lyrics are inspired by the major arcana from tarot cards. The shows were frankly amazing. My partner and I traveled from Denmark to Amsterdam to attend both nights. The band members have said they didn't expect to sell all the tickets for the Friday concert (roughly 6000 audience capacity) but did so in less than 2 weeks. The Thursday show was added and almost sold out. Same was the case with the upcomming shows in Mexico City, the roughly 10000 capacity venue sold out in a few weeks and a second show was added, that is also almost sold out. They have a huge Latin American fan base, so if they do more shows like this in the future, its worth keeping an eye on places like Mexico and Brasil

I was one of the lucky Americans who traveled all the way from Nebraska to Amsterdam to see this show!! It didn’t just have fire, it had sparklers shooting out, other pyro stuff, and even confetti shooting forwards and falling down from the sky!!! Best concert I’ve ever seen and nothing even comes close!!

The whole show was amazing indeed. I was there both nights in Amsterdam. They are going to do two more in Mexico City early December. Edit: there was a live stream you could watch online. Given the amount of recording equipment they had, I wouldn't be surprised if they made a BluRay out of this at some point.

Yes, I know the problem. You flip a coin several times and it always stays on the edge ;-). Both versions are good and watching both is a good idea. The concerts with orchestra are also announced as such. You have to look closely at the tour schedule, they won't tour every concert with orchestra. On December 6th, 2024 they are in Mexico City with orchestra and choir, but the prices are currently absurdly high. I suspect that ticketmaser has a hand in it. Basically, such concerts are expensive because they are extremely complex and a lot of people have to be paid. Marcela Bovio, who is a well-known guest singer, is also hiding among the background singers. She is not so successful with her own projects: STREAM OF PASSION - The Hunter (official music video)

They always shoot such interesting music videos. The vibe is always so cool. I listened to the song about twice or three times when it dropped and then I forgot about it. So thanks for the reminder. I don't mind more melodic songs from them but tbh, I prefer the more brutal ones. Soft Spine is 10000/10. This one is like 7/10.

Love this live performance, Aurora has really come a long way from the shy, raw young talent to the sophisticated, polished, even more talented young woman she is today. To bad you are going to miss her show, she tours every new album, so maybe next album you will get to see her, in about 2 years.

It’s a shame you’ll miss out on seeing her. I was lucky enough to see her at the Royal Albert Hall recently and it was just amazing. She released a recording of the seed live from that night featuring Anna lapwood playing the organ. It was just awesome you should definitely listen, unfortunately there is no video it’s just audio. One of my top 10 songs

Awesome reaction, Matt! This is from her latest album, "What Happened to the Heart?" released this past June. At the time of the album release, she called this her favorite track. She described it as weird or strange or something like that, and she loved that about it. Sorry you can't see her live (you're not alone), but hopefully you won't have to wait too long for her to come back around again. In my perfect world, the artists wouldn't work around my schedule, but rather my schedule and finances would allow me to go see them, regardless of where they are.

Ok, here I go. 1) Therion's sound differs from album to album. Don't stop yourself by judging their sound from only one song from one album. 2) Therion's videos : Never been their greatest force, IMO. The ones for the 3 latest albums albums are all pretty much looking like this. 3) Christopher Johsson is the founder and main composer. Only member since day 1. 4) He works with a lot of different vocalists. The line up changes great frequently also. On this song : Taida Nazraic does the soprano lines. She's not a recurrent member. Lori Lewis is one of the current female vocalists that has been there for a few albums now : she's my favorite female vocalist since I've discovered her with Therion. Ok... don't have much more time on my hands so, for now, here goes other Therion suggestions : A) Heavy tracks : Ginnungagap, Kali Yuga Pt. 2, Invocation Of Naamah, Wine Of Aluqah. B) Experimentals : Land Of Canaan (brace yourself ! Hearing the big chords along with choirs (wait until you hear To Mega Therion to picture that) was the summum of funny to me. Well, it became my favorite band at some point. I live in Mtl and travelled to Mexico City to see them with orchestra. Last time they came to Mtl was in early 2000s if I remember correctly. So I couldn't miss that. Anyway ! Gotta go. Have fun :)

Technically, the backup vocals are sometimes Josh (the bass player) and sometimes both of them. But it's mostly Josh who is singing in the higher register while Courtney is in the lower. Once you know to listen for it, you'll hear it. And drive-by Spiritbox appreciators seem to always expect harsh vocals... but there are lots of all-clean songs. I think reactors just gravitate toward the popular ones that have all harsh or a mix so they think it means that's the Spiritbox sound.

Definitely a great beginner friendly song. I wasn't sure how I feel about it while listening, but now it's kind of stuck in my head, so I guess it works :D Really like the main riff, too!

You should check out ' curious tunes ' for an in-depth description of the characters portrayed by Asruun and Mark, they portray characters of Viking legend, very interesting video. As for the skull for you, well I would suggest a cave bear.

Tbh, I loved their album War Eternal the most, and I think that's the one most fans don't like that much. I don't mind Alissa's cleans at all. She's got a really unique singing voice and should use it more. Hopefully, we'll get to hear some of her solo stuff at some point where she uses all of ther potential. I can't really connect with their latest material as much as I did with War Eternal ten years ago already. How time flies! Also, you've got a nice "souvenir" from the show 😉 PS: I hope we get to see at least one reaction to Epica's new live videos from The Symphonic Synergy show (The Ghost In Me and Arcana). Also, Architects just dropped an absolute banger called Whiplash.

I love this song, it's so catchy and it's probably going to be a hit live. I see great potential for a call and response kind of thing. The tour is only going to be a few dates, but I think one of them is in Leipzig, so I might go. I really love that they've joined forces for this. The funny thing is, the day when I saw Feuerschwanz they asked fans on insta to guess who would be the surprise guest that night and apparently at least one person answered "oh please not LOTL" (they shared the answer). I imagine how amusing this must have been for them, because this tour and the song were probably already in the works.

It doesn't sound like Feuerschwanz with Lord Of The Lost and it doesn't sound like Lord Of The Lost with Feuerschwanz but an actual fusion. And a great sounding fusion too!

Sadly this song is a one-off. Both bans are really busy with their new albums so they don't have the time to do anymore :(

That is from the London show! and you can spot me twice in it 😁 at the 2:15 mark and the 3:51 mark. as there was a girl crowed surfing and I was holding my right hand up, and I got a silver ring on it. I remember the blue face guy aswell when i was waiting in line.

I would probably like this song a lot more if it was another band but I really miss Arch Enemys older sound so every new song is kind of a disappointment 😕. Funny how differently we feel about being in a music video 🙂. I was really nervous the first time I watched the videos for the Halo Effects “Become Surrender” and “The Defiant One” and very happy when I wasn’t in the videos 😂. I have been to several concerts where they where filming material for music videos or live dvd:s and I don’t like it.

I think I read that part of the footage was indeed shot at the Hammersmith, so technucally I can say I know someone who was in an Arch Enemy video haha :D the song is awesome, I already know a lot of people have complained or will complain about the clean vocals ("Arch Enemy needs a man at the mike hur dur"), but I felt like this element fit well in this spot in the song without making it any less heavy. I hope that sentence made sense.

This was the very first band that sparked my interest in symphonic metal when I was a little kid. I don't follow them anymore, nor have I seen them live, but watching the To Mega Therion music video on VHS will forever be etched in my memory.

Such a cool experience, to see them from up close in this huge venue! I enjoyed the interviews with fans at the beginning very much, although it's insane how many shows people have gone to.

I never got into Therion's sound, as the other commenter said, they have done some weird things with their music and I guess I have stumbled upon the weirder ones. Otherwise they're an OG of symphonic metal. The song in combination with the video is interesting. My knowledge on Tuonela is restricted to a late 80s translation of The Kalevala, but I recognise some elements, the entity that takes the dead man across the river, the swan woman (who was killed for some reason??). Maybe it's too early in the day for me to understand everything and maybe I should find time to listen to this album. I didn't know Marko had contributed guest vocals for them, but he has over 60 guest features, I think, it's easy to lose track. Amorphis often has lyrics based on Finnish mythology and the epic poem Kalevala (they literally have an album called Tuonela, from 1999). However , here I was kind of reminded of their 2007 record Silent Waters. It follows the story of a hero, who, at one point, is given the task to kill a swan from the river of the dead. He is killed instead and the title track is basically his mother asking a god and other supernatural entities to help her find him and revive him. But the official video doesn't show any of this.
