Eric, y’all are doing a good job at raising your girls up the way in which they should go.
We have a Christian neighbor who has 3 children. He doesn’t really show or teach his children basic living skills.
We hire his son from time to time for work around our property. When he’s working I’ll show him how to do any given thing and work with him.
Sometimes he gets frustrated with a task, so I’ll encourage him to go on in his frustration.
I taught him how to change the oil on the tractor. Now he’ll always know how to change his own oil when he’s old enough to drive.
He got very frustrated in building steps and retaining walls.
At one point he wanted to give up, so that was a good time for a break in the shade with cold lemonade. We talked it through and after a few minutes we worked together until it was done. I then had him look back at what he had accomplished that day. He was proud of himself and I was proud that he didn’t give up.
I appreciate that Doc. Glad you spent time with him and helped him to not give up.
A preacher once said, "If it wasn't worth repeating, I wouldn't have said it in the first place." *S. M. Lockridge*
Amen to that!
I love this video so much!
After their dad passed, my kids and I bought a motorhome and went camping. Without screens (I committed as well), we learned who we are as a family and it gave me the opportunity to get real and honest with them. I became my very best version, right in front of them, which has been very trust building.
I finally moved us to Arizona and we are LOVING life on our homestead. It turns out that I am highly skilled and efficient (I grew up in a solar house in Milwaukie, OR, just minutes outside of Portland, OR).
While we were camping, we talked about all the things that we wanted to do that were fun, and all the things that we wanted to be capable of, and it turns out we get to be that and more.
This might make you laugh, but I always really loved the little house on the Prairie and I wouldn’t mind my kids having that , exactly.
We have a giant solar panel that follows the sun for us, so we’re living pretty posh on the prairie (which is more of a plateau 🤓😁😇.
I feel blessed and lucky.
I really appreciate your content.
I appreciate your comment. Glad you are having those great experiences with your kids.
You are a blessing! I'm passionate about teaching children skills, but above all, teaching them about Jesus .
Thank you so much.
Thank you
Can't agree more, kinda sad knowing future generations will never get a chance at a pure childhood like we had
You are so on point with your wise, heartfelt godly words/advice. My prayers for my loved ones and mankind is that they not become a sponge and soak up the vile, evil ways of this world, but to be a mirror and reflect the ways of our precious Jesus Christ in their lives. I pray that all fathers be the consistent, godly leaders of their home. It is written in God’s word to be so. God genuinely bless you and your family. We need more people like you. Thank you
Thank you. I appreciate it.
yup...don't have kids but I got to be uncle. One thing I would add is sit down and plan projects with them. Let say they need a shelf. Draw a blue print with them, calc the wood/screws needed, and then build it with them. If you let them build and plan their own wants and needs it will get their brain working on problem solving beyond "go buy it". That applies to most things in life. I know it is faster to do it yourself but getting the young involved will pay off in the end. My father took time to teach me all the basic trades so by my late teens I was doing the electrical, plumbing, heating, well maintenance, ect while he was a full time worker and part time farmer. I am grateful now as I have the skills to build a house/septic field/well and have never had to hire a tradesmen to repair anything(talking thousand easily saved)
I love it too much! Great uncle without even holding the title (being a direct uncle and all 😊).
My oldest son does this with a nephew. Third grade he built me a bird house 🤩. Just gotta find what interest them.
And NO cell phones until a teen and with limited usage. 👵🏻👩🌾❣️
That's awesome. You were the cool uncle.
Glad you had a dad that taught you some great skills.
@@CountryLivingExperience would say I'm more of the crazy prepper uncle(well great uncle now) always talking about winter survival kits in cars as I force blankets in their cars. Teasing them I'm going to get a miniature horse for their kids being they now own a yard in the suburbs 😂
I'm glad I have found this channel God bless you,THANKS
So true. Thank you. I'm in my 60's, trying to learn to garden in all of the "climate change" learning how to take care of numerous farm animals. It's so fulfilling but rakes so much time, focus, energy. My 95 year old mom is with us but she doesn't remember the "how to to things". The Lord bless and keep you.
You're welcome. God bless you in your endeavors.
Great advice and it needs to be put to practice! Thanks for the video.
You’re welcome
Inspirational! Thank you. My daughter loves harvesting and planting with me. She takes great pride with collecting the eggs and feeding the hens! A sense of purpose and accomplishment teaches responsibility. Prayer is so important too. We thank God everyday for the ability to grow our food.
Such a timely, important message. Thank you. Blessed to have our sons with us on our homestead.
Yes!!!
GOD Bless You and Your Family!
Thank you for your honest advice. I went to school for mechanical engineering and I can tell you I felt like I was at a disadvantage because I didn’t have a dad who invested time or skills with me. That never stopped me, but I’ve struggled with confidence in my abilities immensely. Praying that one day I get to be on a homestead and have summer camps where they can build their own projects or play team building sports. 🙌🏻❤️. No one thought Nehemiah could rebuild the city wall, but when your vision is crystal clear and your heart is set on things above no one will stop you from finishing the things God set out for you to do. Prayers for your family and protection from any evil that is rising against yall. ✝️
You're welcome. You can do anything with Christ's help and guidance. Keep going!
What a message for Sunday mornin coffee ☕️.
I’m 76 & raised my two boys HOW to survive in the world. We are country people so it came more natural than for city people. We did a lot of dry camping… no toilets, running water etc…
As teens learning to ocean dive for food & hunt. And then grandkids learned this.
When last gk was born, he learned how to skin a deer in his onesie Jammie’s & a pocket knife with his dad & uncle.
I did a lot of canning & both gk were there helping prep or cook for canning.
My oldest gk is into archeology, history & psychology classes. He learns from friends at BLM, police force but he can cook, can & make mead lol!
They manage money well & I taught them how to shop for sale items. I’m pretty sure they could make a down fall in our world with extra effort & prayer. I have been blessed ✨💫👵🏻👩🌾❣️
Much needed video. Teach ourselves too!!!
I love how genuine you are. This was a great message, and a good reminder to me, as grandma, to keep showing my grandkids what I know how to do. And especially to keep talking to them about my love for Jesus.
I appreciate that. Thank you.
All good things are worth repeating.
Consider these things. Don't fall for the Boomer vs (insert generation) psyop don't fight each other fight the new world order. Learn new skills. Also this isn't just on the boomers. I have seen tons of younger generations want to learn but are afraid to ask out of fear of embarrassment for not having the knowledge. Remember everyone was ignorant until they learned the skill over years of experience. I see this in a lot of cultural things (guns, wood working etc.) Don't be afraid to be the guy in the room who is ignorant as long as you are asking questions and don't be afraid to say can you teach me to do that. Boomers teach any skill you have and pass it on to a younger generation, the future depends on it.
Great comment… You sound like my dad, an exceptional boomer who taught me just about everything🤓😁😇.
Good point.
💯 Thank you for the reminder.
No complaints here. Keep up the good work.
I appreciate it.
Keep driving. Thumbs up 👍
Thank you, so very much. GOD bless you and your family.
You're welcome. God bless you as well.
Great message
Amen
Fantastic video!! 100% agreed with it all!
We are now teaching our Gbabies this info...
Love and God Bless ❤
Thank you I'm so glad I found your channel God bless you and your family.
God bless you as well.
Some things are not only necessary to be repeated but required to be repeated. Follow your heart brother; never look back.
We used to have that here in America. We would learn how to cook and have home economics and so, but they took it away.
Thank you
You're welcome
✌️😜 Love All that you do Brother, & may God continue to Bless your Family 💒⚔️ God Bless us All 🙏✝️
Amen. Thank you
I found your channel last year. I enjoy your soft spoken advice and meaningful discussions. I have a UA-cam channel (I’m not here promoting it, just letting you know I truly understand). Like you mentioned, the comments I’ve received lately are very discouraging. It’s as if their goal is to attack not just my advice but my character as well. But a good friend told me once, you must be making a positive impact if others are putting you down. I’m not sure about that but it does help as I delete comments. Sooo. Keep up the good work. Don’t let comments bring you down. And bless you.
God bless you my friend. I appreciate that. I don't let them get me down anymore. I just feel sad for most of them.
Instead of deleting the comment, I just hide them from the channel. They can still watch and comment but nobody can see them but themselves. 😉
@@CountryLivingExperience great idea. I’ll look up how to do that. Thank you. And keep bringing us your uplifting videos!
Rereat...Repeat...Repeat....It's Really Necessary.....Remind us!!!
Amen
Agree 100%
"God's holy day" which He instituted before Adam and Eve fell and which will be kept in the New Jerusalem. (Genesis 2:1-3; Isaiah 66:23, Jeremiah 31:33/Hebrews 10:16, Matthew 5:17-19; and many, many more scriptures.
My biggest regret is giving my kids phones and computers. Don't do it people! Learn from my mistake.
If you or your kids go to church and pull your phones out while you're in there supposedly inside to praise the Lord and the good word you need to reevaluate your life choices. Now these are just my thoughts they wanted to put the chip in everybody and they know nobody would take it so they put it in our phones and now everybody has the chip and we are being watched and manipulated every step of the way in our life. Wake up everybody. Thank you for your videos they are most informational & your eye opening conversations speak volumes.👍
This is the problem. Schools dont teach like they use to and parents now have more to do with limited time. I wish i put my foot down and did homeschool
In two months it will be December tell us about the 12 days of Christmas just the oldest Christmas song on the planet. Remember we would’ve been prosecuted back in Roman times if he talking if they knew what the word were hidden even the revelation stuff in there is codedthe date 12 days of Christmas
It is the most important part of being a parent. They will do what they see. We need to be the best example you can possibly be. Or if we leave them to electronic devices or demonicly liberal ideas in the schools, they will do that.
I appreciate you letting your nonchristian followers know where you were heading next in the conversation
You’re welcome. I love both and want to talk to both.
Jesus says to cultivate all these skills he had them
People are literally sick to death with the medical industry the way it is.
I'm an older boy who at school basic life skills that you mentioned, but don't preech what you believe in it gets tiresome, I've only watched two episodes and all your doing is winging ,
