why silicone did not work ? you first said it was white silicone, it goning to work with transparent silicone, later you said that this plastic does not want to get silicone, is silicone glue adhesion not strong enough ? I just fixed my car bake light with super glue, I didn't dry super glue is white color, so my brake light looks ugly, so I am so wondering why silicone doesn't work on this plastic
I first tried white silicone used in bathrooms, used for sinks and stuff, but it's visible because the lens is made from transparent plastic and it's not aesthetic. Also it didn't do a good job bonding the two parts. Hot silicon from a glue gun is also a bad choice. The original glue is similar to super glue but try not to use too much. You can use a transparent acrylic glue like the one from bison. It takes 24 h to fully cure but it's very strong. If you want to open the lens again i's sure you'll have a harder job. I made the video a few years back but I think I used also a super glue but didn't use much and it's quick and easy. You can see the end result.
