Corporate-run medical here; we have a HUGE issue with wasting extremely expensive materials because "The docs don't like these ones" or "A traveler surgeon demanded $50k of a different kind of bone cement, then changed hospitals a month later so this has been untouched for three years". If the hospital has to pay $2k for a three ounce bone cement packet, imagine what the patient pays for world-class neurosurgeons to custom-sculpt that cement into a replacement skull bone to save their life. I just had to throw out ten because they expired.
First fast food job was at little ceasers, and at my location we didn't have a walk in freezer, this was actually a boon to the quality of the ingredients I think. Though from what I've heard most pizza places don't store the dough in the freezer, and typically don't need them. It also helps cut the costs down as well on electric bills.
I worked in schools. Teachers actually hate the 0 tolerance policies. They actually understand why sometimes, a kid needs to punch out the bully, and they hate needing to punish the quiet kid who finally stood up for himself. But they can't say a blessed thing, because they would be compromised, and it allows even more bullying, because if a kid snitches, the kid puts a target on his own back. And it pisses the teachers right off, since they can't do anything. A pity we can't go and teach all the bullied kids a bit of boxing or martial arts.
#13, Current Starbucks Shift Supervisor who’s been with the company for too damn long 😅. Just wanted to say there’s a lot of half truths here. I could counter each point but suffice to say, there is a lot of misunderstanding about food safety/general operations/etc. We get audited by a third party who reports to corporate usually about twice a year in addition to any government inspections. We use industry leading sanitizer to clean our steam wands and then steam them out after every drink. It’s normal for milk to get in the sanitizer and for it to still maintain its concentration to keep surfaces sanitized. Steaming pitchers, blenders, shakers get rinsed in between drinks and every 4 hours we swap them for a fresh set while the old ones get cleaned. Starbucks has also encouraged us to find a shelter in need of food donations rather than throw away food. Most stores I worked at have kept their trash secured for many reasons. In my case, we have walked in on people pissing, doing drugs, etc. I don’t know who this redditor was but they seem a little disgruntled or they lack understanding of the processes and made superficial observations. The redditor earlier in the video seemed to know a lot of old Starbucks stuff. So I don’t know. I’ve gone to stores throughout the western half of the United States when I’ve traveled and I have yet to see something so shocking that I say something.
Story 2: Even the finished products of sodas are actually pretty acidic. While it doesn't really damage your stomach (you digest things using hydrochloric acid after all) you can get minor acid burns from spilling a drink on your skin and not washing it off for too long. To hear that CONCENTRATED mountain dew can burn through clothes is not at all a shock to me, but I can see why it would sound scary.
Beause of the Heinz issue, heinz is now printing their labels so that the outer edge, matches the excavt color of heinz ketchup. If it doesn't match eother its not heinz ketchup or its gone bad.
XD that outro read exactly like a Buzz Feed article.

Never heard of Heinz sending some guy around to inspect ketchup in a restaurant. That has to be bullcrap.
I can affirm #7 is true
Microwaves do not belong in professional kitchens.
ETA: "medical emergency" and "profit" should never be associated. I hate this country.
