Arlo's slow measured drawing back and putting under the counter of those amiibo figures in the ad at the start of the video when asked, "Are you an adult that still likes to indulge in childhood comforts?" is way funnier than it has any right to be.
Sometimes I wish he'd use his exceptional comedic performances and timing in things other than adverts. Not even necessarily related to video games, just... That he'd start a second channel to do comedy sketches on if he didn't want to put non-video game stuff on this channel because the algorithm is bad.
Can we just take a minute to say that Arlo actually comes up with some really excellent game concepts in these? The Wario Land one in particular. The camera-angle-changing mechanic in SPM was so fun and clever! Taking that to a whole other dimension (nice) would be super fun, and would fit Wario's wackiness perfectly.

Imagine this; You're in a darkened theatre, watching an opening weekend showing of the Mario Movie. There are a few kids in the theatre, but luckily enough they've been fairly quiet. In a slower part of the movie near the middle, Donkey Kong farts. A relatively innocuous joke, if not a low brow one. Then, all of a sudden, a furry blue monster rises from his seat and yells "HA! I TOLD YOU SO! I told you ALL! But did you believe me? Of course you didn't!"
And I'll be like, "That must be a mistake, because the MPPA rated the movie with no rude/crude humor in it." Seriously though, one fart joke isn't the end of the world especially when it comes to modern day Illumination (they rarely use them).
No, it's terrible. Arlo deserves a much better editor, a true professional. Kane's editing, art and logo design look all like they were made by an untalented 12 year old.
I cannot express how badly I want the Tomodachi Life sequel and new Mario & Luigi game predictions to happen. That would spoil me greatly for the entire year! A new Luigi's Mansion would also be really cool, I love Luigi content haha.
I just want a single character model revealed so we can see the art style and graphical detail they've chosen. A Federation Marine and a Space Pirate, maybe even showing them getting into a shootout just so we can SEE how the game will look.
In a similar vein, if Nintendo ever decides to return to making those Mario and Luigi turn based rpg spin off games, I'd love to see one where Wario and Waluigi are the alternate playable character team, acting greedy and wacky and dysfunctional in contrast to the Mario brothers, but some big evil guy has crossed both M+L and W+W's path and slighted them in some way, so now they've got to tentatively kind of maybe work together, probably full on working together in the final boss fight. I could see W+W segments being very similar to Bowser's Inside Story, where M+L and W+W don't interact as much, but rather they both have dedicated gameplay areas where the player switches between the two teams and they've each got their own weapons, team up moves, abilities, etc.
At this point Arlo’s prediction videos are just him listing all the cool game ideas he’s come up with. Seriously, sometimes some of these excite me so much that I genuinely get bummed out they aren’t a real thing.

The only reason why BIS also got a 3DS remake is because the DS version is the bestseller of Mario RPGs… yup, you heard me right. • Dream Team - Good thing it’s not just a dream this game exists, plus this was also before this game’s animation style was over-saturated ever since the second game. Speaking of which… • Paper Jam - While not the worst Mario RPG up to the ranks of Sticker Star (and to think that every Mario RPG that came before would be incredible!), it started the downfall of the franchise (not to the point of being horrible, but still meh) • Royal Road - This really must happen! I REALLY hope Tomodachi Life 2 happens!! And if it does, it better get the makeup feature from Miitopia. I'm not entirely sure a Switch Pro, let alone any sort of major new hardware, will be revealed this year, but with the release of Tears of the Kingdom, the possibility could be there. Also, I feel like a collection of all the prior Mario and Luigi games would be more likely than a brand new entry, but any sort of representation would be great!

Art Academy for the Wii U was one of favorite (and most used) applications on the machine! Despite lacking pressure sensitivity, the way the different art tools where simulated made it feel amazing!

OMG The Royal Road idea was my dream sequel to Paper Jam basically after I finished that game. Except it was mostly about dimension hopping through many older and new places Mario has gone or has yet to go to before. Daisy would be picked up in her original Sarasaland "dimension" early on for the 4 character roster, but then they'd go to places like Subcon and other more obscure dimensions I can't think of right now. I don't remember if I made up any plot details, but it's so crazy how close our idea of a new Mario and Luigi game was. :D

I want to see a Prime 4 announcement earlier in the year. Like during a direct that would highlight the holiday games, so maybe June, and with a release window of just holiday 2023.

I would love a sequel to Tomodachi Life. I've been wanting a Tomodachi Life Switch edition for a few years now. Especially since the release of Miitopia on the Switch.
I love how some of these are less “predictions” and more wild off-the-wall “Hey, wouldn’t it be cool if ___?!?!”/random creative pitches just for fun. “Wario Land Switched” sounds like a fun time though NGL.
Honestly, even as the worlds (second) biggest Mii fan who never even owned the og Tomodachi Life or Miitopia, a sequel to either would make my entire year! More mechanical depth and more polish is exactly what the Mii "series" needs, and I really hope we get that soon!

This video is so much more of an improvement from that rough Year End Review 2022. I was really looking forward to that but I feel like you pushed yourself to release that one as close to the end of the year as possible...and it resulted in a very under-baked, almost depressing video abandoning all the traditional charming Kane editing and fun look back-style in favour of a B-Roll fest of gameplay and an exhausted sounding Arlo. Please, if that was the case, don't do that again. I feel like this video was given the time it needed to be a great, fun, timeless Arlo video to add to the catalogue of videos I will always rewatch til the end of time. Kane's editing really shined here, I loved his visual conceptualization of all your wacky and endlessly creative ideas! You need to give yourself more time, I think. I'm pretty certain the 2022 year end review was just a rare rough patch, and you're on the right track again...Taking care your mental and physical health moving forward into 2023. Thank you!

The only crystal ball prediction I want to see happen this year is the announcement of Mario Baseball on the Switch. Although I am dreading that they will go the other Mario sports game routes and drip feed free DLC… This is still great and creative stuff!

This might be relatively minor in the grand scheme of things but we should also be getting DLC for Mario Kart, Splatoon 3, and Xenoblade 3 this year. The latter in particular will probably be pretty big since Xenoblade 2's DLC was also sold as a standalone game.
That Wario land idea is really cool. I would absolutely love something like that. Wario is easily the most underrated series from nintendo except for maybe metroid

i cannot express how much joy it would bring me to see a new mario and luigi game revealed this year! i haven't played one since Partners in Time but just indulging the idea of a new one for the switch gave me life!
switch honestly should have waited two years to release and had a snapdragon cx55. so, whatever future is for nintendo my hopes are high for what they make next.
Something to take in consideration about a new Art Academy is that the studio that used to make them closed it's doors in 2016, that's why we haven't seen a new one since then unfortunately.
Tomodachi life is my favorite game of all time and just the shear mention of you predicting there would be a Tomodachi life two had me so happy, I want that game to exist so much!!!
How could you do this to me, making me dream of something amazing that I'll never get. Mario & Luigi Royal Road sounds like everything I've ever wanted. The Pokémon S and V expansion will be a small island cluster based on the Balearic Islands with a Majora, Minorca, and Ibiza analogs. The Ibiza one in particular will be very fun, colorful, and party themed. Also, when MP4 is announced there will also be an announcement of a Meteoid Prime trilogy port.
I'm really hoping that Tomodachi Life prediction is right, that game is a blast and a sequel would be so cool! As for my own predictions, I'm going to say DK finally gets a game this year (either a new 3D platformer, or a port of Returns), Mario Party 11 is announced for 2024 and Paper Mario -TTYD gets remastered- gets a new game announced for 2024 that divides the fanbase once again

I will forever be surprised about the fact the original DS and Lite had a touch screen with pressure sensitivity which allowed Colors DS to thrive, but then it was taken out for DSi and 3DS. Nintendo man, what even

I'm not entirely sure a Switch Pro, let alone any sort of major new hardware, will be revealed this year, but with the release of Tears of the Kingdom, the possibility could be there. Also, I feel like a collection of all the prior Mario and Luigi games would be more likely than a brand new entry, but any sort of representation would be great!

I REALLY like the Mario + Luigi game with Peach and Daisy prediction! I hope every year that Nintendo makes a game with Daisy in it that isn't a Party or Sports game, only to get disappointed but not surprised ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I really like your predictions, PRAYING for Metroid Prime 4 and Tomodachi Life 2 personally. As well as Tears of the Kingdom not being delayed anymore and this release being for real.

OMG The Royal Road idea was my dream sequel to Paper Jam basically after I finished that game. Except it was mostly about dimension hopping through many older and new places Mario has gone or has yet to go to before. Daisy would be picked up in her original Sarasaland "dimension" early on for the 4 character roster, but then they'd go to places like Subcon and other more obscure dimensions I can't think of right now.
I don't remember if I made up any plot details, but it's so crazy how close our idea of a new Mario and Luigi game was. :D

2:30 Nitpicking here, but the March 2018 Direct was a full Direct. There was a Mini Direct in January 2018, so that’s probably what Arlo is referring to.

Honestly, even as the worlds (second) biggest Mii fan who never even owned the og Tomodachi Life or Miitopia, a sequel to either would make my entire year! More mechanical depth and more polish is exactly what the Mii "series" needs, and I really hope we get that soon!

Love these prediction videos. You always come up with the coolest ideas for games. They always sound legit and it's sad when they don't come true. I *really* hope the Wario Land game is true. That'd be so cool!
This video is so much more of an improvement from that rough Year End Review 2022. I was really looking forward to that but I feel like you pushed yourself to release that one as close to the end of the year as possible...and it resulted in a very under-baked, almost depressing video abandoning all the traditional charming Kane editing and fun look back-style in favour of a B-Roll fest of gameplay and an exhausted sounding Arlo. Please, if that was the case, don't do that again.
I feel like this video was given the time it needed to be a great, fun, timeless Arlo video to add to the catalogue of videos I will always rewatch til the end of time. Kane's editing really shined here, I loved his visual conceptualization of all your wacky and endlessly creative ideas!
You need to give yourself more time, I think. I'm pretty certain the 2022 year end review was just a rare rough patch, and you're on the right track again...Taking care your mental and physical health moving forward into 2023. Thank you!

The only crystal ball prediction I want to see happen this year is the announcement of Mario Baseball on the Switch. Although I am dreading that they will go the other Mario sports game routes and drip feed free DLC… This is still great and creative stuff!
Just a note, pressure sensitivity in the stylus comes from the tip which measures the force applied.
That's why stylus replacements are expensive.
I LOVE these videos from Arlo. Be creatively fun and original! Look how right you were with origami king! Literally my favorite things to look forward to each year please keep doing it and don't do what other UA-camrs do (by playing it safe or not doing predictions at all)

This might be relatively minor in the grand scheme of things but we should also be getting DLC for Mario Kart, Splatoon 3, and Xenoblade 3 this year. The latter in particular will probably be pretty big since Xenoblade 2's DLC was also sold as a standalone game.

i cannot express how much joy it would bring me to see a new mario and luigi game revealed this year! i haven't played one since Partners in Time but just indulging the idea of a new one for the switch gave me life!
I think looking at the release window for 2023 it's pretty obvious that Nintendo and other companies are saving games for the next console.
switch honestly should have waited two years to release and had a snapdragon cx55.
so, whatever future is for nintendo my hopes are high for what they make next.
Something to take in consideration about a new Art Academy is that the studio that used to make them closed it's doors in 2016, that's why we haven't seen a new one since then unfortunately.

The Pokémon S and V expansion will be a small island cluster based on the Balearic Islands with a Majora, Minorca, and Ibiza analogs. The Ibiza one in particular will be very fun, colorful, and party themed. Also, when MP4 is announced there will also be an announcement of a Meteoid Prime trilogy port.
I'm really hoping that Tomodachi Life prediction is right, that game is a blast and a sequel would be so cool! As for my own predictions, I'm going to say DK finally gets a game this year (either a new 3D platformer, or a port of Returns), Mario Party 11 is announced for 2024 and Paper Mario -TTYD gets remastered- gets a new game announced for 2024 that divides the fanbase once again
I think nintendo should stop relasing paper mario's because they will never change his rules
