I put out dog dog kibble that has been soaked in hot water until it is very soft, for Robins that show up in the Winter. You can also add canned dog food to that mix. I just put it in a pan on the back deck. The amount I put out depends on the number of Robins that are around.
I also put out dried cat food for Blue Jays. I used to put it out for the neighborhood stray cats until I also saw the local Blue Jays eating it too. No more stray cats around, but the Blue Jays still are here.

And blue jays love peanuts, but, of course, that gets to be costly.

My robins and blue birds eat meal worms and beef suit. I haven't tried raisins yet but will give it a try and see if they eat them. I've had 3 bears in my yard today 12/21/2022 I don't think they got the memo Western CT. Bird feeds are 13ft up on a wire. I've learned my lesson.

Robin's go south for the winter. In Pennsylvania we don't see them in winter. When they show up I know warm weather is coming. The problem is we are taking their habitat

They migrate on a temperature line. Here in Maryland we see them and then we don't. Back and forth.
