The "Hannah Montana" scene in the car was an ad lib. The director wanted the cast to talk about normal stuff for that travelling montage and Abigail Breslin, who is a huge Hannah Montana fan in real life, was trying to explain the premise of the show to Woody Harrelson, who initially didn't get it.
@@midnightdour It's such a specific joke too. Sure the same joke could have been made about major cities like Detroit or New Orleans or something.....but Garland?? Wonder why?
17:57: That's the main reason I love this movie. The whole point is that these four loners, each with their "look out for number one" mentality (okay, Little Rock and Wichita are a package deal), aren't going to accomplish anything but surviving. Once they're all together and forming human connections again, they have a chance at *living.* 36:24: They change, but they're also added to. It calls attention to Columbus writing down "Enjoy The Little Things," but if you note, in the opening scene, the zombie in the back seat, then when he gets in the car with Tallahassee, he checks the back seat, and that rule popped up, indicating its new one he's made to avoid incidents like the one that nearly killed him. Making you wonder how many of his rules were created in response to narrowly escaping lethal situations. It's also implied when he kills 408, that "Double Tap" pops up as rule #2, implying Cardio was his pre-existing Rule #1. It's a fun little detail, and makes Columbus a more engaging character, learning through experience and surviving by keeping his wits about him, even as he's the least conventionally badass character in the whole film.
"The Serpent and the Rainbow," "28 Days Later," and "Blood Snow" are all awesome zombie flicks. For some more exotic Bill Murray, I've always enjoyed his performance in "The Man Who Knew Too Little."
The picture-in-wallet comment planted the seed; Columbus dropping the bike 10 seconds into his journey convinced Tallahassee to assist Columbus on his way to rescue Wichita & Little Rock.
'You got a Purdy mouth' that and the Banjo is a nod to the Deliverance! A cracking good film. Also check out Shaun Of The Dead and definitely Train To Buscan.....
There is a fun zombie movie from the 90's called "Fido". Very entertaining Canadian comedy zombie movie. For something more serious from our country, "Pontypool" is an amazing zombie adjacent movie.
If you want a great comedy zombie movie, check out Shaun of the Dead. It came out 20 years ago and stars Simon Pegg and nick Frost. One of my favorite movies.
The "Zombieland" movies are some of my fave zombie movies. "Double Tap" is next in line. Another Zomedy (Zombie comedy) I think you would like is "Fido", starring Carrie-Anne Moss and Billy Connolly. It really has it's own atmosphere.
Kingdom (2019), a series from Netflix with about 12 episodes + a movie, is an awesome zombie show, a breath of fresh air in this genre. A different setting from what people are used to.
I agree with a lot of the suggestions for zombie movies: "Shaun of the Dead", "28 Days Later", and "Train to Busan" are all great zombie movies. I'd also like to add "Fido" (2006?). It's a heartwarming zombie horror/comedy that is highly underrated. See ya in the next one!
Zombie recommendations Shaun of the Dead Dawn of the Dead Resident Evil Series - I enjoyed both the live action and CG, but a lot of people don't like the live action. I think they are really fun. Black Summer - It's a show and not a movie, but unique and entertaining. Walking Dead - Another show. Lots of episodes. World War Z 28 Days Later 28 Weeks Later Train to Busan Any Bill Murray movie is worth watching, but I recommend "What About Bob?" and "The Man Who Knew Too Little". Thanks for the videos. I really enjoy them.
Woody Harrelson actually worked in a amusement park, King's Island before he became famous. He made customized, wood burnt signs that said "Dad's Bar" or whatever ...
Love this movie and loved your reaction. Really glad you enjoyed it so much. Here's some recommendations off the top of my head for Zombie movies - these are all serious ones: World War Z (director's cut, if you can find it), Train to Busan and 28 Days Later.
@@beatsandmel0dy That is in reference to the sub-titles as some people avoid a film because of that or do something silly like watch the english dubbed version
Such a fun movie, glad you guys enjoyed it. For a Bill Murray recommendation I'd suggest Little Shop of Horrors; he has a relatively minor role, but it's a great film and I think you guys would really enjoy it. You should also check out World War Z sometime, it's a more 'serious' zombie movie and one of my personal faves.
Bill Murray was not supposed to be a cameo in this movie but the original cameo couldn’t be in the film. Last minute call Woody Harrelson called Bill Murray to see if he could do this cameo. He agreed to it. Woody and Bill are good friends with each other. They both together were in the movie Kingpin which is a very funny movie. Bill Murray ad libbed all his lines because he kept going off script. The Farrelly brothers just let Bill do his thing lol
Pacific Playland amusement park is not in California but the amusement park was filmed at an amusement park in Valdosta Georgia. I have a friend that lives in Valdosta Georgia
re: Setup and payoff with the Rules: Columbus advises Tallahassee to limber up, and gets mocked. Later, when he destroys the minivan, he pulls a muscle.
"Time to nut up or shut up!" Fun Fact: Twinkies really are called "Submarinos" in Mexico. Fun Fact: The "Zombie Kill Of The Week" was leftover from the script's origin as a television pilot. Every weekly episode would have such a kill by characters on the show. Super Deep-Cut Reunion Fact: In Bill Murray's mansion, Woody Harrelson's character mentions that he is a big fan of all his movies. Harrelson starred in Kingpin (1996) with Murray, which has since become a cult classic. Ned Nederlander Award Fact: Woody Harrelson actually plays the banjo in the supermarket scene. Although it could have easily been faked, Harrelson actually took the time before and during production to learn how to play the instrument rather than use a dubbed-in banjo. Location Location Fact: Contrary to popular belief, the supermarket scene was not filmed at an actual supermarket. A movie set was built from scratch to look like a real supermarket, and some of the merchandise is fake. For example, the stuff behind the glass refrigerator doors is just printed on paper. According to the producers, it was cheaper than buying out a supermarket and paying them for broken merchandise.
If you loved Bill Murray in this movie and want to see him work with Woody Harrelson in another flick, may I suggest Kingpin? Watch the extended/directors cut, mind you.
If you guys are looking for a puppet movie that will forever change your view of puppets, you need to watch 'Meet the Feebles' (1989) from LOTR's Peter Jackson.
An airsoft grpup I belonged to did a zombie game with airsoft. 1 shot with shotgun or double tap with handgun took out a zombie for i think we set 30 or 60 second timeout/"death". Players who were 2-hand tagged by a zombie then became a zombie as well, we all had masks to put on for when we became a zombie. Game would go like an hour or so then we called it and flipped sides of who started as a zombie vs human. Also for weapons only 1 shotgun was allowed and up to 2 handguns but as many magazines as you could carry and limited ammo. There were safehouses that you could use for a short time to reload your limited supply. Was a lot of fun As got other BM mobies, have you seen Stripes?

Oh, yeah.. Hostess Snoballs are 'creme' filled chocolate cakes, covered in a thick marshmallow paste, which is in turn coated with pink-dyed shredded coconut. A bit too sweet for my taste. If I want a Hostess snack, I prefer a Chocodile (chocolate-coated Twinkie) or, way back when they still made them, a custard-filled Pudding Pie.
