1997 AFL Grand Final 4th Quarter Adelaide vs St Kilda
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 сер 2009
- See the 8 Goals straight kicked by the Adelaide Crows in the final quarter of 1997. Coming from behind to win comfortably, Darren Jarman stared up forward in the last quarter.
Adelaide were a great side in the 90's. For an interstate club to win back to back premierships it's just phenomenal
crows is better than eagles in the 90's
They weren't that great. They only made finals in 1993, 1997 and 1998. They were extremely lucky to have gone back to back with that average side they had. Eagles were better in the 90s
@J Gdo you post the same dumb shit comment everywhere. Get a fucking life
@J G lol every suburb will have its own soccer club? What kind of fantasy world are you living in you loser?
@@mabiorcholappreciationpage They didn't have the best team, but when you're playing with the pride of a whole state so hungry for national recognition you play with passion, grit and determination.
Watched this today, January 2022, still gave me goose bumps. So thrilling. What a footy side.
Darren Jarman would have to be one of if not THE BEST positional kick of a football to have ever played AFL/VFL.
But not the best in SANFL
They asked Dunstall who the best player he ever played with and he said Jarman without having to think much about it. He said the guy was a freak when it came to playing footy. I'll take a player comment over anyone else's.
grooster24 pretty sure that was best to kick the ball to him.
jarman was the best kick he said
to those who watched both jarman brothers for their entire career, darren wasnt as skilled as andrew. both freaks.
I watched this full match, Jarman was amazing and so fun to watch, honestly my favourite crow ever
I'm a Crows fan and my best friend is a Saints fan, so I sent him this video
Jarman. Around the body. That will do. That. Will. Do.
That's what my mother and I say when appropriate in any situation.
That goal makes no sense, he plucks it out of nowhere and snaps straight away, what a goal!
@M who asked
@@mikel3030 It's taken me a lot of years to figure out how he got the ball. The illusion from our angle was that his team mate running past had knocked the ball forward. In fact, the team mate + defender Jason Heatley both overran the ball, and it stood up into Darren's hands - a bit of a lucky bounce. When you're hot, you're hot!
Jarman should off won Norm smith medal
I still cry tears of joy 20 years later
My favourite moment was Bond's goal: 'Oh they're home and hosed! Look at them go!' Something about that moment still makes me emotional. Troy Bond is pumping his fists, the crowd behind the goals roars, that goal wasn't even needed to win the match but it sinks the boot into St Kilda, and the crowd back in Adelaide is jumping around and losing their minds.
watching the adelaide fans go mad about winning is honestly my favourite part
That Darren Jarman fake on the lead is one of my first Football memories. It’s was absolutely brilliant.
I have a mate that didn't so much as follow an AFL team, he followed Darren Jarman - when Jarman left Hawthorn for Adelaide Crows he switched teams... dirty turncoat! Anyways players like DJ make the game so much better, they are the magic!
I have been a crows supporter since 2000 the year i was born
At 6.24 & 7.48 a very young Andrew Mackie in Crows guernsey is seen celebrating the goal & win in the Crows' supporter venue. He went on to play in a few Premierships himself......
This was the days of some very good players not just the Crows But All of AFL.
But the Crows Still Rule.
I'm watching this now to make me happy, because the Crows aren't doing to well this year.
Im neither a St kilda or a Adelaide supporter but by god i feel sorry for St kilda's fullback playing on Jarmen. I play fullback myself & one of the hardest things is in the last quarter with momentum on other teams side & playing on a great fullforward & trying to keep them under control all while trying to deal with sledging from opposition & even your own team mates. Credit to Jarmen, he played great but that St kilda fullback did a great job although he was well & truly up against it.
The Saints steamrolled. What a performance by the Crows! I can remember being at a birthday when this was on. Poor child was largely forgotten!
7:35 Tubby Taylor
+BrockerArtworks
Who does Mark Taylor support in the AFL?
SASR st kilda
i was wondering if anyone else saw that!
Sean Rehn was superb.
My favourite moments are Troy Bond's goal and the snap from Jarmen. Magic!
JARMAN!!
hard to replace a squad like this!
Great memories...by the way 7:35 that's Tubby Taylor in the stands!
I was born in that year and to my day...I was the second best thing that year to happen ;/
Jarman and Modra - my footy idols growing up :D just a shame Modra couldn't play on the day, probably would have won by alot more, haha
I would love to see the entire last quarter of this. All the scores, the lot. Someone said they came from behind at 3 quarter time. I vaguely recall the game; it's a blur of Darren Jarman goals in the last quarter, the only quarter I can remember. That theme song just pumps and I would like to have more of that going as well.
St Kilda were beaten by a side that wanted the premiership more.
Awesome memories
Classic legends team.
Seeing the joy on Troy Bond's face when he kicks his goal is one of the best things about this video.
These were the days
jarmannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn pharking legend!
I still get goosebumps
@6 47 the kid right in the bottom left corner of screen with crows face paint (in the shed) would go on to be a 3 time premiership player for the cats, the 1st coming exactly 10 years to the day (2007) It's Andrew Mackie!
Yeah tis a big achievement but I think the Lions' 3 in a row was extraordinary.
Up the crows🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'm so glad Jarman is my coach in club footy. His son is heaps good as well.
Ps. No joke
South Australia - heaps good
This was a great game and it was even better being there!
You can see Mark Taylor in the crowd towards the end of the clip.
7:35 Tubby Taylor looked real happy. :)
CHAMPION!!! Should never have left Hawthorn!!!
@Rodger Hodgson lol the greatest team of the modern era. THE MIGHTY HAWKS!
@liebener u still have to get yourself in those positions to kick the goals in the 1st place, jarman was the king at reading the play.
How east did Jarman make that look
Remember when football was good?
brilliant pickup tommywm24
what footy club?
at 7:43 is that actually the Adelaide crows theme back theme
Jamie Shanahan was his name. He was a good fullback. Just not good enough on the day, thankfully.
you little beauty!
0:42
Leigh Matthews : "Well you know the things that could decide the game, it could be the bounce of the ball".
Hindsight, it's Steven Milne in 2010
Shane Ellen remember him. Dam.good .player
The the saints heart were broken they actually had them the 1st 2 quarters
The fact they didn't show Ellen's greatness in the first half, demoralising
5 point smashing
Was a sad day the day he left Hawthorn
September 27 1997
imagine if they dropped Jarman
darren jarman commeth the hour commeth the man
Hey unknown how come Heisenberg not on the crows list
Took over 4mins to hear bruce.
Other clubs should learn from the Crows... They were comeback kings like West Coast Eagles. Never say die, never underestimate, never stop. The Saints & Bulldogs were two clubs that always crumbled to the pressure when the shit hit the fan.
great quality but terrible day
ahhhh not the crows
tracy chapman
Harvey had like 38 touches but just did'nt do anything with them
Nope, never did. Noticed that in every game he played.
Love the final siren sounding repeatedly. Fitting for a GF.
Go crows
CARN THE FUCKEN CROWS
Yeah... They made a real meal out of them
7:20
And 20 years later they lose one
Obviously not a member then :)
Like I did say, I'm a crow
afl grand final 2010 draw
@sayntz1 And when did you win a Premiership?? Oh that's right. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Football has come such a long way in the last ten years, if you put this Adelaide team in the AFL now they would finish dead bottom.
yeah and st kilda would finish 19th...whats your point?
Put Blight as a coach in any team and they would go on to win the flag
you must be on drugs...coaching matters less than the players you have..by a long way. the best coach in the game- and its not malcolm blight- cant take a crap team to a flag.
Shouldn't you be a Swans supporter?
@crazyfeh12 I'll admit that eliciting funny responses from sensitive crows fans was on the agenda, but when you watch that clip there is no doubt that Jarman's performance was good, but not the stuff of legend. Who won the Norm Smith again?
Boo go Fremantle
the guernseys colours are way too similar, terrible to play like this
Jarman's effort is totally overrated by history.
Some fortuitous loose ball gets, a few uncontested marks, a free kick, and half of them junk time in any case.
🤣🤣🤣 sure!
