    Thank you so much for all of your knitting videos. I refer to them often as I tend to forget some techniques since I don't use them as often. Thank you.

    Hi Roxanne, I am knitting my first Aran sweater and your presentation of horizontal and vertical seaming has helped me a lot. Thank you

    Thx again for this video. I refer to it often as I don’t seam edges often and therefore need an instructional reminder.

    I would use the first technique in all 3 situations: through the centre of the stitch in the bottom fabric, and around the entire stitch in the top fabric. That way the geometry of the zig-zig assures column alignment.
    Thank you for the clear close ups! Your videos are always fantastic!

    Very helpful video, thank you! I have just finished a cabled headband, and wasn't quite sure how to connect horizontally, hopefully I can keep the cables lined up as I do it.

    Thanks. I found this video very informative and will definitely be trying these techniques on my current project. I found your choice of sewing needle very interesting and wonder what type of needle it is. Thanks again for making such easy th of follow videos.

      I was using a needle from Clover. They sell them in pairs with or without a "Chibi" tube case. They come in a variety of sizes, as well, but only the larger ones are a gold color.

    Wonderful video. Thanks. I am seaming a tee that I knit with mercerized cotton and am having trouble staying in one row. When you insert the needle, are you inserting it into that v of the bind off row or into the last row knit before the bind off row? Also, when you pull the yarn tight, do you just tighten it so your yarn looks like another row or tighten it to the point where it disappears altogether? Thanks!

    Love your videos :) Do you have one or would you be willing to do a video of seaming vertical to horizontal seams of all garter stitches? I'm using slightly fuzzy yarn and it's already tricky. It's James C. Brett Marble Chunky with two "threads" twisting around each other. Thanks so much!

      I'll add it to the list! (No telling when I'll get to it, though.)

    Please....please show how to seam a garter stitch to a stocking stitch. The cardi I'm making has a mixed cable/stockinette front and then a garter stitch panel (no button band) like a kind of scarf which joins all the way up the fronts and also becomes a fold- back collar. Thanks in anticipation of some guidance much needed guidance. 🤞

    I have been looking for a video that shows me how to mattress stitch a shoulder seam, but on a piece of knitting that is all ribbed.
    I’m going to have to wing it I think….

    • @RoxanneRichardson
      @RoxanneRichardson  2 роки тому +1

      I would just match stitch head to stitch head on each side of the seam. If all of the sts are live when you bind off (i.e. not stair stepped), don't bind off first. Use a three-needle bind off (3NBO). That will match the columns perfectly.

    • @melissalungu1637
      @melissalungu1637 2 роки тому

      @@RoxanneRichardson I kinda winged it, I did what you did for stairs, but in a rib, picking up the 2 in each from the p1k1p1k1 pattern. It kind of worked, I’m sure no one will notice 😂

    How do you seam in brioche or fisherman's rib? horizontally at shoulders that is?

    • @RoxanneRichardson
      @RoxanneRichardson  5 років тому

      I would work the seam the same way. The seaming thread, once pulled tight, isn't going to show.
