Oh this is a GREAT unisex. The house does sweet orange blends so well. I think of this one as a refresher used after you have a shower on a really hot day. It doesn't last, and as with most Japanese fragrances just evaporates like a mist once you've had your half hour ceremonial interaction with it's invigorating, meditative, stabilising effect. If Di Ser, Parfum Satori and J-Scent were ever able to increase their formulation's tenacity and ability to generate some sillage they'd have enormous success outside of Japan. I love so many Japanese fragrances but it's like seeing someone really good looking through a train window: they inspire lust and intrigue and then, whoosh, gone. 💥💨😢
PS= Matthew Secker is correct about Japanese culture: they prefer fragrances to be either gauzy and ultra-discreet or absent from shared communal spaces entirely. The clever neutralising of unpleasant or unmentionable odours is more of a priority, which is great, right? ;) As long as people are aware when they're purchasing Japanese niche fragrances that they will get something that is refreshing, gentle and short-lived rather than pungent and tenacious then disappointment can be averted. :) But the blends are unbelievably good. The sensibility behind the curation and handling of notes which we may all assume we're familiar with in the West, is unique and produces entirely unexpected results. 'Yawahada' by J-Scent is a wonderful fragrance to wear at home, or even before going to bed and 'Suiren' by Parfum Satori screams 'Amalfi Coast summertime musky hot clean skin at 5pm'. Not what I expected and there are no dupes for this or ANY Japanese fragrance I've tried. Wonderful. Any and all recommendations most welcome and appreciated. :)

I agree with you! I got the hint that Japanese fragrances focuses more on fresh smells! Love the smells but I can’t buy another bottle due to another brand I love from another country. You have to remember in Japan they don’t like smells like cologne from what I’ve read so I can understand why they only focus on fresh smells that don’t last!

Excellent review! I'm very intrigued by this house, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on Mizu Sasora, Hasunoito and Shiragoromo

When I hear fizzy I think of Aldehydes but I doubt they are in natural. I love Haitian Vetiver. But this sounds quite nice. And these prices?! Thanks Oz. Love lots of Roja's stuff though that is pricey stuff.

Ah yeah I see your point. For some reason most of the aldehydes I are diffusive but smell somewhat "fatty" to my nose lol...I hear you on the Rojas they do have good ones. Which one do you love so far from the house?

If I had to choose I'd say Haute Luxe. What about you, Mr. Oz? You certainly keep me on my toes with these incredible reviews of houses I have never heard of😱

I enjoy this house quite a bit. But I think you must like vegetal smelling airy scent profiles to enjoy this house preferably with a dash of cold mountain air. They manage to achieve this natural freshness without the use of white musk or ozonics, I love that! I find their scents to be quite well behaved, ultra clean and vegetal and earthy at the same time...somewhat contradicting. I wonder if they are IFRA non-compliant?
I was expecting better packaging for Kyara though. Thats one pricey scent :O

That's a good generalization indeed! Full of contradictions at times as well...especially with Kazehikaru with that slighly dirty peppery note but it manages to give off a clean vibe :) . Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the house!!
