- With today's sale going on for the F-5, I figured I would throw together a quick tutorial on how to startup your new purchase!

CPU Specs:
Gigabyte Z97X-SLI
Intel i5-4690K
Nvidia GTX 1070
16GB DDR3 Ram
X-55 Stick
MFG Crosswinds
1 of my favorite planes in DCS
Which are the others?
Fuel Autobalance shouldn't be turned on until just after take off to prevent aft CG shift.
Bjorn Thule you are correct, after further digging into the manual I see that
Just found this. Great start up tutorial. Please make more
Thanks man, I will!
I think you should flip the oxygen switch into "normal oxygen".
Etienne Ecuyer thank you for the point out
Watching this video inside a real f5.
Lucky
Main ADI to -3 as well as the Standby, otherwise good clear Video.

Great tutorial.
Thank you, that was great
Great video - but I think you forgot to enable your external fuel tank with the switch above the boost pump switches.
PUDSEY thanks for the comment. Was going to cover that in the next video before takeoff
I don't have this plane yet so I have to ask: When you have the left engine up and running, why do you still need air for the right engine? No bleed air on this bird?
Xena and Zena from San Bernadina there's no crossbreed on the aircraft, so you gotta connect the air to the other external air port. The external air is high pressure bleed air
You can do one in the sim as well and it's mentioned in the manual.
@@TrickerDCS Negative, engine crossbleed is alive and well in the Tiger. Push the left engine throttle to 90+% RPM, then press right engine ignition.
Squid was here
Very helpful!!! But how did you take the pilot out in the video? That's a key binding?
RShift + P will Hide/Show the Pilot Body
great vid!
super helpful sir
Awesome video.
Sorry I’ve never flown this aircraft, but does the F5 not have an internal APU to start the engines? Or a bleed air system to start one engine off the other?
No APU, that's why you need external air to start it up
Please do the AVRO Arrow if you can..... Look up a FB site AVRO 206.
Quick question; I'm curious what's the odd reason behind the right engine has 580lbs more fuel than the left?
Lymark Wong there's two independent systems. The forward cell supplies fuel to the left engine; the center and aft cells supply the right engine, so the right has more fuel because it has two systems
Would watch you start anything. Got any other planes to show off?
MRpilot thanks for the reply! I got most the aircraft and I plan on doing more in the future. Any requests?
Tricker my most recent acquisitions are Huey, Bf109, Fw190 - and I haven't started studying them yet . But it's always nice for fresh perspective, even on an aircraft that I think I already know.
MRpilot I appreciate the comment. I'm no expert in the ww2 dogfighting stuff until they fix the hotboxes and such but I do plan on making other videos for possibly the mirage next
I am have a real problem with trim on this aircraft sticking in the either up or down position. As are many other people. It is ONLY a problem on this aircraft. No problems on any other aircraft. I push up it sticks, so I counter it with down it sticks. Then one ends up chasing it and quitting using the F-5 all together
I just flew it today and had no issues with the trim. Are you sure everything is bound correctly?
@@TrickerDCS I just tried it yesterday same problem. I tried binding it to the keyboard arrow keys. It still stick up or down. I am not the only one who has had this problem and none of the other aircraft do it bound to the same or other keys. Most just give up on the F-5 so I never hear back from them. I HOPE YOU EITHER ARE A GOOD PROBLEM SOLVER OR KNOW WHO IS. Thank you for your time.
Have you tried making a copy of your controls input folder in your c:/users section and then restoring the key bindings to default? I just flew the f5 with a few buddies and none of us had this issue.
If that doesn't work then post in the dcs forums and check with the other pilots to see what they say.
Hi just new to this planewhat keybinding is to set the pitch above the altitude indicator?
Your trim up and down key commands for the elevator. I’m on a trip and don’t know them off the top of my head. Go to adjust controls
Do you still use mouse even with vr ?
I have vr but don't use it, but yes I did use the mouse in vr
@@TrickerDCS you're using track ir ?
@@heklik yep!
