I was always fascinated by tornadoes because of twister. I grew up on the west coast and fast forward to two years I now live in KY and I ended up surviving a devastating EF4 ( mayfield, KY. Was driving when the tornado hit me)
I think they did a good job showing the toll, devastation, and trauma these storms can bring. And I thoroughly enjoyed it!

EF4, damn I’m glad you made it through the storm! They’ve been a constant threat my whole life, but I’ve been super lucky to have never been directly in the path.

The movie was amazing the way the tornado just snapped all the windmills was just so real my jaw was on the floor seeing and hearing the destruction

LOOOVED the windmill action in this, these tornados were so dense and intimidating in this.

I always found the tornado movies so difficult to make because 1 hand they have to make them look exciting and cool and thrilling yet it has to be sensitive to the fact they are a real thing and they do kill and ruin a lot of lives... that is such a difficult balance. You don't have that with independence day when's the last time alien ships destroyed whole cities... when did Godzilla really destroy a whole city? But tornadoes are real and hurts lots of people

That’s a fantastic point man, the tonal balance of a localized disaster movie like this is so tricky to pull off.

    Hey man.
I heard rumors about this Twister sequel a year ago and kinda figure it would be another pointless crash grab.
When I started working at Regal Theaters late May so I had the opportunity to see free movies and the previews for films, including this one (Trailer #2). From first impression my gut was telling me this film is either going be mediocre or it could be a good film.
Today I saw it and was really impress; it was great. We haven't see a good tornado since the original. Twisters (2024) is the second best tornado film with Twister (1997) the first place og.

I don’t think the movie was too long, the pacing towards the beginning just felt… off, I don’t know how to explain it.
I know that it’s not really a sequel, not really a reboot, it sits somewhere in that middle area. But I don’t know if it truly deserves being connected to the original. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the movie, I’m not here bashing it. But the only true connection to the original was the use of Dorothy V (which, at least that would’ve been the next Dorothy) and then re-use of several lines to make you go “Oh hey! I know that!” It was hoping to pull from the nostalgia of the first to pull viewers in. But truthfully… I dont think it needed that. We haven’t had a good tornado-themed disaster movie in, what, 20+ years? It could have had plenty enough of its own pull without having to pretend to rely on the original
I think it also had some missed opportunities. The soundtrack was just… country music for the sake of country music. A soundtrack should provide backing to the scenes, deeper feeling, better connection to them. For the most part, the soundtrack just felt like “Hey you like country music? Forget what part of the country this is supposed to be taking place in? HERE’S SOME MORE MODERN COUNTRY MUSIC.”
Sound design and VFX were absolutely incredible, the script was… mostly okay? I don’t have many hardcore nitpicks about it, but it just felt somewhat flat

Excellent points. So you mean, like, just make it a little bit more different but don’t even call it twisters? Remove the “Easter egg” part of this movie, which like you said is thankfully minimal, and just do their own thing. I’d be on board with that tbh, but with what we got it did maybe the best job at being obviously a legacy sequel but actually doing it well as its own movie without even worrying about huge pointless pandering moments for cheers. I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Just yesterday I caught a min of the "Star-studded Cast" being interviewed on a news outlet when a 2nd noteworthy statement rolled past below the screens center, "Cast of Summer Blockbuster"...
That term was coined by the (at the time) unprecedented and immediate success of "Summer" hits like Jaws and Star Wars which involved theaters nationwide with limited screens incurring blocks-long lines of anxiously awaiting fans willing to endure the ups downs and forwards until available screenings arrived.
There have not been legitimate Blockbusters since long before... "Blockbuster" opened.
Also, I recognized ONE cast member from ONE other film...
Basically, the news outlet willing to add those laughingly false remarks about this movie clearly had no fear of promoting FALSE advertising.
That seems to have become such a frequent occurrence on TV and Social Media that almost no one even notices.
    Almost....
    Signs of the times.
    Vanity Insanity.

We get tickets online now so the term blockbuster stopped being literal a long time ago. Twisters made 80 million opening weekend compared to the 7 million that Jaws did opening weekend (would be about 42 million today with inflation i think).

Btw, It saddens me that people my age (40-60) still haven't learned about modern Hollywood's willingness to seduce audiences with the promise of nostalgia for better days and films...
When illogical and overblown movies like TWISTER can make someone head to theaters for a sequel decades later...we truly have arrived in the END OF DAYS.
CGI tornado's WITHOUT sharks are no longer "a thing"

@@NerdFap haven't partake of that film or tv series.
I've learned enough about the last couple of decades having robbed millions of their ability to reject copies and reimaginations and since the nonstop assault of Multiverse material has destroyed what remained of "Common Sense" in the minds of humans all over, I have no further need to seek shows or films with anticipation, but only to plot how todays garbage deserves ridicule more than the zombies who continue to support and empower the industry so blissfully undeserving

What’s the last good movie you saw? Not even in Hollywood, could be an independent film or something. I mean cmon, what movies have brought you joy?!

I recognize that term as stemming from personal experience which negatively affect someone to the point of refusing to show any positive reactions about current or future experiences based solely on the past ones.
      That is pessimism.
I have the answer to your question regarding my last position attitude about a specific movie etc..
      Avengers: Infinity War, Trailer... ELECTRIC!!
