If you think the boat slides off the trailer to fast, you can always lower it using the winch, when the weight comes off the cable, walk down the trailer, disconnect the cable and hook the trailer cable hook to the trailer(ready for when you come back) hop on the boat as you push it finnaly off the trailer, this is more controlled and less prone to something going wrong. I use this method every time i launch the boat myself (Haines signature 542) yes its a bit Mr Safety but works a treat, good luck with the new boat
