    Here in the Philippines, the Tsunami Bikes are very respectable considering almost everyone who owns them have pretty decent builds. Tsunami Bikes are head turners here in the Philippines and good looking. They're so good that I actually owned 4 Tsunami bikes for the past 14 months, Tsunami ranger, pioneer, factory release and my latest that I have now is the Snm100. Such a great bike.

      @@mcfarhan987 Mainly the aesthetics of it(the logo,paintjob).It's much simpler looking on the Gen 1.
      There are also small structural differences.The brake mount on the seatstays are different on the Gen 1 and Gen 2 frames,and the Gen 1 has chainstays that have slightly more curvature(lending to slightly better stiffness and more chainring clearance).Gen 1 forks are just a tiny bit different from the Gen 2 forks,but if you know how they look like then you'll notice the difference.
      That's pretty much it.

    Im actually very new to this community. I bought myself an aluminium fixed gear bike for around 300$ and it weighs under 10kg.
    Over the past few weeks I keep changing stuff to like a proper saddle, handle and pedals. Currently I‘m eyeing new cog and chainring and gaining more experience.
    It‘s a hard road to travel but I think it‘s better than just buying a full bike (for me) since I didnt know if I like fixed gear riding or not.
    I gained much on experience just by riding and caring. I think overall the bike fits my personality. The personality of a greenhorn. Watching your videos helped a lot in gaining knowledge and avoiding mistakes. Nonetheless I feel like I have to go through the procedure of „conversion“ to fully get into this.
    I think when I‘m done I will be around 700$ for the fully conversed bike with proper parts.
    I think thats a good deal after all.

    • @dernils6176
      @dernils6176 3 роки тому +2

      I think it's only natural that most people pick up something like riding fixed in their teens or twens. Riding fixed wasn't really a thing from the 60s - 80s, so that's probably why there aren't that many people above a certain age who ride fixed or have ever ridden fixed. It's also something that's mostly done by people who see cycling not just as a recrational pastime, but an actual means to get from point A to point B in everday life. This approach is quite uncommon for people born before 1980, at least in my expierence. If they cycle at all, they either do it as a sport (usually either moutainbiking or road cycling) or they ride some crappy trekking or dutch bike as an alternative to talking a walk, usually extremely slowly and on the sidewalk.
      How did you end up riding fixed?

      @terbennett 3 роки тому +5

      I'm a roadie and one of my riding buddies is 69. He rides fixed gear in about 70% of his riding. He also uses two functioning brakes. He says it's more fun to ride than his two road bikes and his mountain bike. He rides an older Cannondale by the way.

    Hi Zach! What can you say about aluminum fork of the tsunami? I'm going to change the standart fork of my fuji track 2016 (chromol metal) to aluminum tsunami fork (not for lose weight, only for good looking). Best wishes from Saint-Peterburg))))

    Just got my first fixed gear bike and I love it. Now my son wants one. Looking for something fairly cheap since he's only 11 and will quickly outgrow it. Any suggestions by chance?

      32c rear, 28c front. Minimal clearance but it fits. Stiff wheels are recommended

    Tsunami aluminum frame is my dream frame but it's hard for me to find one because the main seller of tsunami frames here in Philippines is too far from my current location ☹️ that's one of the famous frames here in Philippines.

    From what I've learned Zach spent too much on hist first bike as many expensive components aren't more durable, aren't much stronger or lighter FOR DAILY USE and serve only for BLING factor. Or I missed it?
