That duck isn't a Mallard, it's a Roeun duck so it's domestic species. He needs proper duck food (tractor supply), not grain because that does not have all of the nutrients that he needs. Don't feed him bread as bread is bad for his health. Ducks are very social animals so if you can, I would definitely advise you to get him another duck (craigslist?). Makes sure to make a predator-proof enclosure for the night because racoons, foxes, owls, etc. can easily get him. Some female duck breeds can lay more eggs than chickens, so if you want, you can get female ducks such as Indian Runners, Khaki Campbell, Welsh Harelquin, Ancona, and a few more. Also, don't throw him on the cement because it can easily scrap his feet which can cause bumblefoot and it's not something you want to deal with. Other than that everything seems good, keep it up!
Fred is a male Rouen duck. We raised them when I was a kid. Look just like mallards only larger.

Yes I cannot wait this video got enough light hopefully he will get more ducks to put in the pond in a bunch of fish but watch out for other big birds that might try to swoop down and grab him you should get a bunch of white ducks and name them after everybody in your family
