    I must commend you on not talking too much at the beginning of your instruction. I have watched thousands of videos where there is too much talk prior to the tutorial. You are articulate and very thorough. I have enjoyed your tutorial, and thank you for sharing your talent with us. Happy New Year.

    Thank you for posting this. I've made this afghan many times over the years. I always have a hard time starting because I don't remember the stitches and don't understand my poorly written directions. It's great to watch it! The pattern really is the prettiest!

    I love the speed you are crocheting at. If I come across a tutorial where it drags out then I’m not watching it. The speed of the tutorial can be controlled if someone needs it. Click on the three dots on the top right of the screen. Then select playback speed. You can adjust the speed to a slower version there.
    Thank you so much for this tutorial. I’ve wanted to make one for years.

    • @Meladora1

      Thank you for saying that. For anyone who might see this, I know sometimes it may seem fast. for others it's to slow. You can't make it perfect for everyone. But I now add "row # " in the corner to help you skip to where you want to be or to rewind. I'm very glad Toby that you were able to understand this tutorial and it could help you make something you've been waiting to make for a very long time :)

    Excellent work; but for those that are newbies, may find it somewhat intimidating at your rate of speed.
    For me, it’s great because you’re going at a pace that is just perfect for me.
    You’ve excellent patterns and it’s refreshing to join You!
    Thank You very Much♥️🌹❣️

      Carla Johnson For those who need a slower speed , they can select one in the settings. Click on the three dots in the upper right side of the screen. Select play back speed.

    I havent done a ripple V stitch blanket in decades. This is an excellent refresher. Your tutorial was perfect for me but I've been crocheting for 40 years. Perhaps future tutorials could be a little slower for the novice crochet artist? I'm not complaining, just making an observation. I love your tutorials too btw.

    Hello....great tutorial. I found it stumbling around looking for this pattern that I had in hard copy years ago but lost that copy. Your video seems to be the only one that explains this stitch/pattern nicely. I see there are a lot of comments regarding the speed with which you do this and I do understand. While I'm somewhat of an accomplished crocheter, I enjoyed the speed at which you went. If it was too fast for me, I just hit the pause button and backtracked to see a certain segment again. The TOUGH part was transcribing this into written form because I could not, for the life of me, find the proper written pattern anywhere (unless I'm missing a memo). Once again, nicely done and thank you for posting this!

    • @Meladora1
      @Meladora1  4 місяці тому

      I like to use single crochet and hiding tails to really make the sides neater, but personally I like the look of the fringe so most of the time I leave it there, but I can understand why some don't. Best wishes on your project!

    Losing the yarn off the hook that often is not normal. You either need a tighter tension or a hook made of different material.

    How many yard of each color did you use and if I wanted to make it one solid color how many total yards are needed?

    • @Meladora1
      @Meladora1  3 роки тому

      I've made a baby blanket once using this stitch, I used 3 skeins, each 100 grams to make it. I used skeins of variegated yarn. But I couldn't tell you how much yarn you'd need for a full size using 1 color per strip. It's best to make a gauge for the ply yarn and hook you want to use to get a more accurate amount that you'll need.

    • @Meladora1

      Decrease and increase, you stay even each row, but you are causing your yarn to pull and push to create this awesome pattern

    I don't know why you can't keep your yard on the hook constantly drop it need a new hook

    • @Meladora1
      @Meladora1  Рік тому

      It's the wooden hook, the hook is not as deep as the regular aluminum hooks that I'm used to, so all it takes is a little pull from the yarn on my skein not being loose enough for it to slip off. Takes some getting used to.

  • @marylynch7404
    @marylynch7404 6 років тому +1

    Too fast and the crochet hook gets. In the way...slowing down would be helpful.
