This is a great video for an aspiring producer myself! I know that my skillset arent that great yet but i work really hard everyday to be successful someday. Great content and thanks for sharing!! ❤️
Thank you so much for making these videos! I'm finishing my studies in music technology and production, and as much as I love music, I could never focus enough on creating something myself, but I do love helping my classmates with their work and usually take the role of a director of some sort? on our group projects Without your content I would neve imagine that an A&R position has that much in common with what I do in college
Do A&Rs often use references to show what direction they want the music to go in? And also do you ever have multiple concepts in mind for an artist group or solo artist? If so how do you choose which concept to go with?
it depends. but with my personal preference, I'd say it also depends on music. even if a concept is good if good music doesn't is not created or found for that concept, you might not want to use that concept. good music is a pre-requisite for all good concepts in my opinion
@@TV-ey4lq I see what you’re saying thank you for answering that question! Can you answer the first one about using references to show producers which direction you want the music to go? Is that done often, or do A&Rs usually just express what sort of feeling they want the song to have? Or bare description like “something strong and intense, or cute and bubbly?”
To add on to my previous questions: What are the concept meetings usually go? What is the conversation with the executives, regarding the artist’s comeback, like? Are there multiple songs lined up to be the potential lead single?
it also depends from time to time and label to label. sometimes you have a definite single. sometimes you're choosing from multiple candidates. it also depends on how active kinda role the execs wanna play in music production.
