These players have been so personable and likeable what I've witnessed so far. Pope is doing great job involving the fans and allowing us to be a part of this process. I have full faith he is gonna do great things with the young men. I'm not discounting that Pope has to prove himself in the game play, but thus far he is scoring much higher marks in alot of areas the last staff was very lacking in.

What I like is that he wasn't just grabbing who he could out of the portal, he was going after specific guys that he knows can thrive in his style of play. To your point, as long as they gel and put the team first, they can do a lot of damage.
I think there are numerous players on this roster that are better than people think.. Lamont Butler if you actually go back and watch the games, especially the bigger games is better offensively than some think. He has a really quick first step and is elite defensively. Plus there have been some games he would go 4-6 from 3. Ik his overall 3 point percentage isn't great, i think those numbers may be misleading. And like Jaxson Robinson, kobe brea can create his own shot off the dribble as well. When i first looked into him I thought him being such a good shooter would mean he is one of those catch and shoot guys, and he is elite at that, but he can also hit 25 ft 3s off the bounce as well. Otega Oweh and lamont Butler both are really good at attacking the rim, Ansley Alonor is really good catch and shoot, plus he can defend a bit as well. Collin Chandler is underrated, he has one and done potential IMO, I think this team if they all buy in and chemistry is good will be alot better than some think.
Can't complain about ANY ranking since it's all new staff and team. However, I tend to think some of the top-rater teams have peaked, or will peak before March. Not knocking any of them, clearly good players and coaches. But these have been around long enough other teams know them well, and I don't think teams like Alabama, Auburn, UConn, or Baylor are going to quite have as good record as forecasted. Maybe just 1-2 games not as good. Duke is basically all new. Cal will have a competitive team at Arkansas, but I expect injuries and lack of willingness to analyze tape will have them tail off. My gut feel is some of those "second group" teams will kick it up a notch. I think that could be Tennessee, Gonzaga, Kentucky, and a surprise or two. Looking forward to this season more than the last several years.
Maybe he will fulfil a similar role as the veteran Darius Miller did for UK as a senior on the 2012 NCAA championship team, and provide defense, outside shooting, scoring and rebounding, 10 points per game, 38% from 3, over 80% FT %.
I think all of the SEC teams will benefit from the increased competition this year. That bodes well for our Wildcats, and should help Coach Pope and his staff prepare them for postseason success. I also think league play is going to be a brutal gauntlet to run. Our depth should really come in handy as the season grinds some teams down… next guy up mentality!
Brea and Kriisa can both fill it up too. I also like that our team seems to be big strong dudes instead of freshman that weigh a buck 50 getting pushed around.

Cannot disagree more. The overall opinion is Cal cannot coach X's and O's when it matters and the record and evidence for this is overwhelming and rather hard to avoid. The good people of Arkansas will find this out.

As the only player well versed in Pope's offense, I expect him to start and run the show....especially early on.
