I have to say: these are probably THE best pedal demos I've ever seen on youtube. Finally someone demonstrates exciting new gear by actually making (great) music with it, instead of just wanking all over the place. Keep it up, great work!
Excellent! Liked and subscribed. I actually had mine up for sale this week, and I just ended the listing after watching your demo. You sparked my creativity. Thanks for stopping me from making the mistake of selling mine!
Dude you just produce the most fun, the most showcasing and the most versatile demos. They're always fun to watch and don't get boring. Love your style!
+Knobs what are 3 pedals (apart from tuner and ditto) you would never sell? Btw do you have a pedalboard? Getting to know your choices would be very interesting !
This is a great concept you have here. I've been watching pedal demos for a couple of years now, and this is what they should be. The BitQuest review made me laugh out loud. Grandpa's lemons and all that...
Some of the sounds generated by this pedal remind me of the score for Upstream Color. If you're into drone music/Radiohead-esque passages, this is a must-have.
Wow this is one of the most beautiful pedals/demos I've ever heard. I've been building a $3000 pedalboard for years that this one pedal basically covers (well two in parallel would) man makes me feel kind and of... vague. Really beautiful pedal though I'll have to consider picking one up in the future really killer tone.
I bought a guitar so I won't get into modulars... Figured I should get a few more pedals to expand the sound palette and found this channel. Now I'm considering getting a Boredbrain patchulator... and a lot more pedals... what is wrong with me. @_@
agree with citizen of nowhere. i finally bought a dream sequence pedal. after watching all the videos out there. this one by knobs is the most artful, thoughtful, instructive of all....love the train movies...is that japan? sure looks like it
yeeeah, it's been considered. simply put, it would raise more questions to switch back and forth than it would answer. it's hard enough to summarize pedals like these concisely. knowwhatimsayin?
I want one of these pedals so badly. The pre-ordering system is completely unfair. I've missed out twice now due to they send an email notifying you "Sometime in then next 24 hours they'll update the website" I spent 3 hours last time refreshing the page. Waiting to get one... Had to go to work came up during then.. Getting one of these is darn tricky!
I too am curious about what other pedals are being used before the Dream Sequence? I love all the fluttery and reversed sounding things you get! Would love to hear an album of all these too!!
Imagine how this would sound hooked up to a Electric Mistress and Rainbow Machine....while even being connected to a Moog Subsequent 25 or Moog Grandmother.
Words cannot describe how it was to travel back in time, visit the future, while living out my life in the present all in one moment. Though this video helps . . . 🚬🥃🎚📻🎵🧲👍
What types of chords, notes, arpeggios are being played behind the tones that this creates? Are these simple 4 chord progressions used as a backdrop or just single notes/arpeggios being manipulated?
+Scott Brown $400+ is not a lot of money when you are talking about a handmade multi-faceted box. It can do a limitless amount of things. Sometimes you gotta pony up. You get what you pay for.
A lot of it. That's definitely the go-to vibe around here, but the ramp wave of the Dream Sequence turns everything into a sequence of volume swells. And we know how soothing those are.
Did you notice a volume jump as you turned the gain up? Manual says its supposed to compensate for the increase in gain but mine doesn't, wondering if its a defect.
Awesome, I was wondering how you felt about it from initial impressions. I know you tend to do pedals that are quirky and less known. Though I think the Mel 9 is the coolest pedal ehx has came out with in a while. Could be interesting to pair it up with some of your other pedals I was actually thinking it could be amazing with the dream sequence.
+Lucas Wood Mel 9 is surprisingly efficient. The tracking is tremendous and I spoke with EHX and the thing is analog. That really blows my mind, that it's analog.
Josh Weisenberger It's a pretty fun pedal to play with. Although I find it rather distracting in a sense that instead of "playing", I find myself fucking around for a couple hours.
I have to say: these are probably THE best pedal demos I've ever seen on youtube. Finally someone demonstrates exciting new gear by actually making (great) music with it, instead of just wanking all over the place. Keep it up, great work!
Don't you just miss the hardcore voice overs? "THE ultimate machine!" :D
These comments are gold.
I'd buy an ambient album from you I swear.
abso-fucking-lutely
For reaaaal
This might be the most perfect pedal demo I've ever witnessed.
Knobs beautiful thanks!
you mean knobs should sound boring as fuck like you, fuggetaboutit
""I'm just used to demos by ProGuitarShop, Prymaxe and the rest"",,,,,,, enough said!
this is so awesome!
This channel is a shoegazers wet dream
i fell asleep to a playlist of these demos a couple nights ago. bravo.
I'm here for the vibes
yes
I’m also here for vibes but 8 years later
This is the best channel.
Your videos are the best, such an aesthetically pleasing style
as soon as i saw this pedal i thought 'i want it so bad' and then immediately afterward thought 'i bet knobs make a video on it'.
:)
+Knobs what are 3 pedals (apart from tuner and ditto) you would never sell? Btw do you have a pedalboard? Getting to know your choices would be very interesting !
bitquest, driving notion, warped vinyl, particle, wizard of pitch
math is not my strong suit
+Knobs I have only two words for your response: thanks.
That souns like a really charming combo of effects in one pedal! Love this vibe
dude i love all of your pedal demos but your clean guitar alone makes it worth watching this videos !
Classy Demo classy pedal class presentation. Totally subbed.
Well, now I need one of those! Beautiful work knobs ❤️
2:07-2:13 reminds me of reading rainbow's intro and I love it.
Excellent videos and dynamic examples of the pedals shown, thanks!!!
Tim Hecker in da box. How not to love it !?
breathing sound 6:43///KNOBS///// best pedal demos/// thanks for the clips x
Great videos simple and to the point .
I knew knobs would demo this pedal before I'm here.
This pedal is just so knobs`eque.
i will never get bored of this
the music 5 minutes in is gorgeous!
Just when I thought you couldn't make a more perfect video... you made a more perfect video. Cheers!
WHAT?!
shucks, michael
cheers
+Knobs Out of curiosity, are you staying strictly with oddball effects, or will you be doing any dist/OD stuff in the future?
This is a great concept you have here. I've been watching pedal demos for a couple of years now, and this is what they should be. The BitQuest review made me laugh out loud. Grandpa's lemons and all that...
New Knobs video? Yes, please!
Very clean video.
This and the Earthquaker afterneath were made for me. ;-;
Such a good demo. Thanks guys.
This is unfair. Thank you
+Monderfile WesHall My mom always told me: "Life and beat sequenced guitar effects aren't fair."
Amazing demo!
This Looks like something you would find in the garage ( in a good way ) .
I'm in love with this channel. I subscribed immediaetly!
looks like TTC footage at 6:50. great pedal workout, I could see this on a f/x send from a modular.
I'm waiting for your Infinite Jets demo, Knobs...
By the way, if you were to make a DVD with all your reviews on one disc, I'd probably buy it!
Man, you just reversed my hair loss. Or wait, there's money growing outta my head now!
I can afford this! LOVE d emo!
wow Hologram is bringin' it!
this is excellent
magical
damn this is a good ass channel. im almost only here for the music now
Some of the sounds generated by this pedal remind me of the score for Upstream Color. If you're into drone music/Radiohead-esque passages, this is a must-have.
awesome!
Sounds like bliss
Heard 6 seconds of this video and bought one
"If you can buy a pedal it is already too common". -Angus Young
That being said, I fucking enjoy my pedals.
I love knobs, and im straight ^_^
Oh man the bit at 5.35. loverly
Wow this is one of the most beautiful pedals/demos I've ever heard. Really beautiful pedal though I'll have to consider picking one up in the future really killer tone.
Utterly no idea what's happening but I love the sound!
so cool
awesome, maybe you could make quick bonus clips in context eg with a looper?
(ps glad you didn't over gondry this one ;))
I bought a guitar so I won't get into modulars... Figured I should get a few more pedals to expand the sound palette and found this channel.
Now I'm considering getting a Boredbrain patchulator... and a lot more pedals... what is wrong with me. @_@
your one of us now...just go with it.
agree with citizen of nowhere. i finally bought a dream sequence pedal. after watching all the videos out there. this one by knobs is the most artful, thoughtful, instructive of all....love the train movies...is that japan? sure looks like it
Knobs you literally make soundtracks for pedals.
I'm very new to this, I don't know what exactly "pedals" are, but I'm very hypnotized.
@@guitarguy07 we'll never know.
need it XD awesome work though knobs
Hey, I love your videos. Would you ever consider making a bass pedal review?
yeeeah, it's been considered.
simply put, it would raise more questions to switch back and forth than it would answer.
it's hard enough to summarize pedals like these concisely.
knowwhatimsayin?
nomsayin
Knobs lives for knobs. No matter of the amount of strings. I use the most of the knob-introduces pedals for basses and cello
I got no idea what the pedal does but I like it a lot
OHHHH
OHHHHHHHHHHHH
oooooooooooooh
oooohhhhhhhhhh
OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH
+goaway OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I need this
This would sound really juicy with an analog spring reverb after it.
Oof... This is definitely out of my price range but I want it so bad. Beautiful!
+Candle Nine Don't be such as basic guy. Do it for you. You've earned it...
I will sell one of my 5 SUVs. I have to set priorities!
Do you use a looper to mess around with the pedal while recording, or what?
Radical videos! I can't get over some of these sounds.
The style of video is totally amazing! Very creative vision :)
Love your sounds and videos, beautifully created! Is this all coming from the Dream Sequence? Or are you feeding other pedals in front? THANKS!
There was a looper at times (Ditto x2), but otherwise all Dream Sequence
No blues riffs?!
And it's ok. Guitarmusic is more than moronic blues-riffs!
Try listening to this at 0.5x playback speed
If you made an album or some kind of recording that included all of your demos, I would buy it and listen to it regularly!
thinking about hanging out with all of the knobs clip and making a thing:
no intention, little thought, lots of dabble
*THUMBS*
+Knobs That would be excellent! I would happily pay a bit of money for that!
I can't believe how you're so good, are you even aware?!?!?!
I want one of these pedals so badly. The pre-ordering system is completely unfair.
I've missed out twice now due to they send an email notifying you "Sometime in then next 24 hours they'll update the website"
I spent 3 hours last time refreshing the page. Waiting to get one... Had to go to work came up during then..
Getting one of these is darn tricky!
+Monderfile WesHall Got one #184. Have had it for 2 weeks and have barely even used it. Just beginning to scratch the surface.
What kind of guitar do you use for your demos? I love the tone of it.
i believe it's a dano dead on 67
Please don't stop making videos knobs, your channel is like digital heroin.
if it keeps you off the streets
I too am curious about what other pedals are being used before the Dream Sequence? I love all the fluttery and reversed sounding things you get! Would love to hear an album of all these too!!
+Sackville Studios Nothing. That would be my gut instinct. This thing is a magic box.
Just a looper sometimes.
Ditto x2.
Imagine how this would sound hooked up to a Electric Mistress and Rainbow Machine....while even being connected to a Moog Subsequent 25 or Moog Grandmother.
I'm losing my mind over this
Is this a new channel? It's style of reviews is pretty good
Nice breadboard
How long did it take you to make a video like this? Amazing work
Your channel is an enchantment. Creative. Cool. Well built. Do you run a musical project ? If yes where to find you ?!?
No
:(
Man, go for it !!!
hmm I Love guitar music :)
Knobs, would you ever consider making an album using the pedals from your videos? It would be sweet to hear you use them on full songs.
In the works, sort of probably
wow
Couldn't this replace your digital delay as well?
+simming No not at all. It's not a delay pedal, really in the slightest.
Whooow
oh my god am I gonna drop 425$ and get this pedal? fuck.. someone talk me out of it
I'd help you, but I dropped $425 to get this pedal. I've been not using it to the full potential. I just learned a lot about what it can do.
CZni1776 sooooo... did you buy the pedal?
Ave Mcree Story has it to this day that he never bought that pedal.. but he still watches FX pedal vids 😃
este pedal es unico, no lo tiene en rubio?
Words cannot describe how it was to travel back in time, visit the future, while living out my life in the present all in one moment. Though this video helps . . .

William Basinski cover?
what a great box... I did fall off my chair when i saw the price though...
+Scott Brown $400+ is not a lot of money when you are talking about a handmade multi-faceted box. It can do a limitless amount of things. Sometimes you gotta pony up. You get what you pay for.
'$400+ is not a lot of money '
sir, I must stop you there
Andrew Tucker Maybe for you. That isn't shit to me.
How much of the soft, soothing muted tone of this demo is actually generated by the pedal itself vs the incoming signal?
A lot of it. That's definitely the go-to vibe around here, but the ramp wave of the Dream Sequence turns everything into a sequence of volume swells. And we know how soothing those are.
yeah, I've obtained the pedal since and love it. I use it for synths actually. Thanks
Did you notice a volume jump as you turned the gain up? Manual says its supposed to compensate for the increase in gain but mine doesn't, wondering if its a defect.
have you emailed hologram? i wonder what they think
+Joshua Saposnekoo after rewatching this video, i noticed even that model had the volume jump.
Erik Vicuna At what time is this by chance?
+Joshua Saposnekoo little bit before 3 minute mark
Wow
Really love this pedal and your demo. Are you going to give the Mel 9 a whirl when it comes out?
I really dig that keyboard series. Let's go with a fat maybe.
Awesome, I was wondering how you felt about it from initial impressions. I know you tend to do pedals that are quirky and less known. Though I think the Mel 9 is the coolest pedal ehx has came out with in a while. +Lucas Wood Mel 9 is surprisingly efficient. The tracking is tremendous and I spoke with EHX and the thing is analog. That really blows my mind, that it's analog.
What's with the breadboard?
whats inside? what chip?
Sometimes when i want to listen to ambient music i just put this instead. They should record and release an album for each equipment.
This album should be named: OMG oll my gears
This would be ace with a mellotron running through it!
ooooohhhh my god
Is that just signal noise with the drive increase or does it add in white noise?
I'm wondering that too -- think of a slight gain added to the mix............
+Josh Weisenberger It's a slight gain, gives it a little bit of dirt as you turn it clockwise.
+fred flinstone That's awesome
Josh Weisenberger It's a pretty fun pedal to play with. Although I find it rather distracting in a sense that instead of "playing", I find myself fucking around for a couple hours.
That's the beauty behind music though, some playing, some f***ing around, a bit of each
wow whats the chord progression your playing can i steal it please thank you
