I've been to countless mountains here in the PH and Mt. Pulag is the most beautiful, stunning and worth it mountain to hike. The homestay nights are quite special because you can just stargaze from where you're staying and see the milky way even without a camera.
Nice vlog. Brings me back the memories when I climbed Mt. Pulag some 3 decades ago. No cellphones pa that time. Lesson: Enjoy life and nature while still young. I envy seeing you guys. I wish I still have the strength pero ala na. Ingat lang kayo lagi.
Hi Jack! Thanks for your comment. I hope you can still get to enjoy the other mountains - it doesn't have to be the big ones.. maybe in Rizal or batangas:)
@@TheTravellingFoxes Thanks. Before Mt. Pulag i also climbed Mt. Mayon, Bulusan, and Isarog. Had the time and honor of climbing together with the UP mountaineers back then. I brought my son with me up to Mt. Isarog. Time flies.
The Travelling Foxes unfortunately I can only go in December or January. Last time I went there was last December, sadly there was no sea of clouds 🥺 but I’ll try again next time I go back to the Philippines 😇
Planning to hike there with my sister’s. I am trying get to know how does the trail like. Because its their first time. I think i don’t need to worry. Thank you very much. Very informative and helpful video.
Hello po, thank you for watching the vlog of us climbing Mt Pulag. We have many other hikes around the Philippines in our channel and we hope you can check it out :) Regards from The Travelling Foxes
Natasha Villaroman yeah! He’s the perfect mountain foe beginners. First day hike is only 3hrs, then after camping at 4:30am it’s 1.5hrs to the summit. So it’s not physically strenuous. :)
@The Travelling Foxes If it’s only three hours to camp and another 1.5 to the summit, why not just do the whole thing in one shot? You could probably summit in even LESS than 4.5 hours because you wouldn’t be hobbled by a heavy overnight pack for the hike up to camp.
@@TheTravellingFoxes yeahhh I made my first peak last week, then by next month it's gotta be something more challenging than the previous one... But your experience was incomparable so amazing
Are tents available to rent at the ranger hut or defenitely need to bring your own? any possibility for hammock overnight in that area alcohol stove an OK option to boil water there?
Hi! Tents are available at the ranger station but I am not sure if you can reserve, it might be first come first served basis. Yes there are trees and also the ranger station to hang a hammock. Might be cold though! The structure you saw at the end is where all the cooking is done, its not far from the campsite, maybe less than 200 meters.
Thanks for sharing your video, I used to live in Baguio City when I went to University but I've never been to Mt Pulag, so it's nice to see it in the video. New sub here from vancouver.
I appreciate the sub! There are so many beautiful mountains near Baguio.. Hope you can visit Mt Pulag in the future, or even the day hikes in the area. The view is just so stunning. :)
Please don’t take this the wrong way. But I just have to ask. Why did you do this hike as an overnight? It seems like a hike of this distance and elevation gain could be done as a relatively easy day hike. Plus, you wouldn’t have to carry a heavy overnight pack. Also, is it required that you do this hike as an organized group hike? Or can you just show up at the trailhead alone and start hiking whenever you want?
Hi Mathew, the reason for that is mostly because I was with beginner/ first time hikers. The overnight camping is for the experience, and to ensure that the newbie hikers can experience the view at sunrise. Yes it can be done really easy, but for a beginner hiker to start hiking at 12 midnight to catch the sunrise isn’t as fun :) As for hiking, you’ll need a guide who will provide all the necessary permits. It’s not a hike you can just go to as it is a protected area.
One thing I’ve found is that sunset is at least as nice as sunrise, but without the crowds and effort. You don’t have to get up early and can go much more at your own pace. Then again, if you are limited to scheduled guided trips, this is probably not an option.
Wow! Heavenly view from the top, surely the hike worth it.. You are lucky to have a cat nearby, protection from snakes and ghosts as wel. Wooooooh. Haha.
Wonderful_Life you are right! At least with cats we are sure that no snakes will go to our tents. That would be extra scary if there are snakes there hehehe 😂
Wow.. i wish to climb Mt. Pulag... I am local from Negros Oriental and we have Mt. Talinis which is more challenging than this one (I think, in my opinion only, peace) Hope you guys visit Mt. Talinis too...

Hello, we asked the same question to the tour guide. It stays in the lodge and feeds off the leftovers from hikers and hike tours but imagine if there are days na there’s no hikers. No one knows how it got there. Maybe someone brought it up as a kitten.
Some trivia about Mt. Pulag. The mountain was named after Peleg, the brother of Joktan, in whose time the world was divided into the 3 sons of Noah. In a way, it is proof that Joktan indeed settled in the Philippines. One of his descendants, Sheba, the Queen of the South, became famous for meeting with King Solomon. That is where Cebu, the Queen City of he South, got its name.

Hi Michelle, we did this in January. The best month is summer, between March - May, at least you are guaranteed less rain than the other months.
