So wonderful. Please, please read your own audiobook version, for now and all future generations. I love listening to this, to you, but cannot read text well. Usually I find audiobooks read by others are not read as if understood, but rather the opposite
@@Runjeev Cheers. I enjoyed that audiobook too. DESPITE the commentary. Often audiobook narrators are just saying the words, clearly not following the meaning, so one has to battle continuously with misplaced emphasis!
I’m very excited to read your book, Dr. McGilchrist. I found The Master and His Emissary very valuable, and it sounds as though this book has much to offer as well!
Thank you, Dr. McGilchrist. I am very much enjoying reading my copy of your new work. I am wondering what relevance the notion of subpersonalities has to your philosophy. It appears to me, granted the important hemispheric differences, that there are also a multitude of motivational systems and 'selves' that would operate (perhaps with preference to one hemispheric modality or another) beyond the binary conceptions of a hemispheric duality or perhaps within that binary. That is to say that a multitude of perspectival nodal points may exist in such a manner that the hemispheric differences are a platform for the execuation of their differentiated values, perspectives, aims, or behaviors. Perhaps this is addressed in your book and I just haven't gotten there yet.
The left/right symbolically can also be characterized as the Satanic/Adversarial mode and the Messianic/Integrative mode. Both are necessary, though modern 'religions' always try to shut out one or the other to the detriment of both.
Cannot wait to get my grubby little hands on this book (USA)!
Can get on a waitlist for an audio version of this book read by the Author?
This beautiful narrative is a wonderment of magnificent proportion . . .
or perhaps a lovely light in which to bask . . .
All my multitudes are excited for this one
Yessssssssss
Freaking Fantastic; at Last!
"Both/And" would be a good title of a book meant to mirror Kierkegaard's "Either/Or"!

I completely agree Jem. I enjoyed "Master and His Emissary" audiobook but if Iain is reading we can hear his passion and wisdom with each word.

When does this book get to Canada? As well as released on audiobook?
I think it's November 19th for most of us unless you pre-ordered when it was first announced. 👍

Sorry Iain, I'm definitely going to clip the bit about about crystal meth and use it out of context 😂
