      the conflict and contradictions between sedentary tribes and nomads (like the Dothraki) are much deeper than the differences between any settled peoples

    I'm with Jon, about oaths. There are many discussions about the stupid actions of the Stark family, and I agree with a lot of critizism against them, but I don't think that was one of them. Ned Stark was stupid to reveal the information he had discovered when his family members were surrounded by the enemy. That's not the same as making a false oath. There is a point in the existence of things such as honor and honesty. When there is a reasonable compromise to be made, but the only thing hindering it is distrust, you should be able to trust an oath. Or the honest person making it. And that could be what saves the entire situation. If people keep making false oaths, that kind of a solution no longer exists. Cersei's demand wasn't reasonable: After what she's done to Jon's family, why wouldn't he support the other Queen? It's Cersei's loss to refuse to work together and defeat the White Walkers, they're as serious of a threat to her as to anyone.

    Littlefinger's "game" is what got him killed. He taught Sansa to think rationally about people's intentions, but didn't expect her to play his game on him. Sansa knew Arya never wanted to be a Lady, all she wants is to protect her family, and this is how she figured out it was Littlefinger playing tricks on them to get Sansa to remove Arya (who has a knack for investigation) from the picture. If his plan succeeded, he would next make her remove Jon and solidify her position as Lady of Winterfell, then probably marry her to get power in the North. He would eventually get to the throne, his only mistake was to try to frame Arya without knowing her personality first.

  • @blackkatt777
    @blackkatt777 2 роки тому +2

    First, let me apologize for this long comment, but I just wanted to bullet point each arc.
    The title cleverly covers all bases of this revealing episode of main players: The Dragon and the Wolf is Lyanna and Rhaegar
    (his name is with the R. Rhaegal is her dragon she named after her brother).
    Jon Snow as a Targaryen and a Stark, and then the Aunt Danearys the dragon and the Nephew the Direwolf.
    Although I enjoyed Kit's backside...I was uncomfortable with them sleeping together as relatives.
    Tyrion looked worried and jealous when he saw Jon go to her room. I think he was concerned with Jon interfering in their plans or have more sway over Dany.
    Also, I had been waiting for the theory to come out that Tyrion was also half Targaryen because of how the mad king favored his mother...and some women die in birthing Targaryen babies.
    All three of their mothers died in childbirth.
    Then there was the constant harping on Tyrion's birth by his father and Cersei. Tywin mentioned that he had to give Tyrion his name because he could not prove that Tyrion wasn't his.
    This theory drove the fandom into a spiral in the comment section.
    It didn't help that he was the last shot in that scene. It just left me hanging with no confirmation in this season.
    This was the clue that Gilly read in the book when she and Sam were transferred the diaries. Gilly couldn't pronounce Rhaegar's name right...but that drove the fandom insane. As far as we were concerned, that was all the proof we needed.
    I respect Jon for not lying and agree to Cersei's terms. It's a reminder that the North isn't like the South (westeros) with lying, cheating and scheming. They mean what they say..and they say what they mean. When every comfort and riches are taken away, what do you have left except your integrity and honor to your name. That's the value that no one can ever take away.
    There was speculation that Cersei had miscarried because of the scene of her sitting at her vanity looking sad after Euron said he'll put a baby in her belly. It was speculated that she was lying about still being pregnant to keep control of Jaime and build sympathy from Tyrion because of his grief about Myrcella and Tommen.
    She put the blame of Tommen's death on Tyrion when she can't face that it was her fault.
    I don't think it would be right for Dany to burn down the Red Keep, because Cersei already killed a large portion of the people there.
    Both have tempers that remind me of the mad king. Tyrion said in the meeting with Cersei that Danaerys has people on her council to keep her temper balanced. But these queens are two sides of the same coin.
    As you figured it out, Arya and Sansa were pretending for Baelish's spies.
    That being said I agree with some of what Arya said.
    They've finally wrapped up his bs, because now they have bigger issues coming from the dead.
    Bran was the key to them working it out. Sansa got all the blanks filled in by him.
    Jon gave Theon what he needed to hear...that he was worthy, forgiven and still a part of the Stark family. You could see so much weight lifted off his soldiers in that scene. Girl, I cried too. 🥺😭They are such good actors.

    • @havok6280
      @havok6280 2 роки тому

      Most people don't hate this season. However, there are legitimate criticisms of this season that are exacerbated in the next season.
      For example, this season distorted the map of Westeros. In the first season, we learned it takes weeks to get from King's Landing to Winterfell. It took a whole episode for Ned to get down to the Capital. Here Dany is able to move her entire army from Winterfell to King's Landing in virtually no time at all. Short cuts like that are detrimental to the storytelling.
      So, yes, this season still has great moments, but it isn't GoT at its peak.

    • @LS13.
      @LS13. 2 роки тому

      @@havok6280 the time jumps are quicker yes, (it still takes the same amount of time to get to kings landing but we as the audience already knew this which is why them speeding it up isn’t as terrible as people make it out to be, I wouldn’t want it this way but it is what it is.) but that’s not the main thing the hate was regards to as I’ve seen. People just hated the entire thing for honestly no legitimate reason just due to the way the show ended, most of the speaking out began not during the season airing or after- but at the end of the show.

    Sansa layed a trap for Little Finger. She learned a lot from him and Cersi.

    The fact that so many people underestimate Sansa while completely overestimating Dany in spite of everything we've seen throughout the seasons always amazes me.

      @@Nihilanth You again?? I thought we agreed to avoid each other. I have certainly stayed away from you. But you keep turning up on my comments to disagree and insult. I'd say it was you who's being the misogynist.

      HotD has been great so far, though. Condal and Sapochinik are showing DnD how to run a show.

    I don't know, but I really knew that Euron and Cersei were really feigning here in the pits, I thought it was really being seen, but many reactors didn't see it.

    Lmao this was the first time Baelish was rendered speechless and it is probably the sweetest goddamned moment in this whole series
