I've had totally different experience with my turbo Force on my Grandstand. I owned the 2 Vantages with the Ultra cut decks and they did great in wet conditions but decent in dry. My turbo Force does amazing in tall, wet, thick grass and great in dry grass. In the spring I run high lift short tail, rest of the year I run full tail super high lift. I also removed that baffle you have in the opening and that makes a world of difference. It's ONLY there for bagging.... Get rid of it
Randy I do the same with both my lazer z's....only have the baffle on when I use my ultra vac system for spring clean ups and fall clean ups...otherwise during normal mowing season i take those baffles off...throws the grass amazing no clumps esp on those thick fertilized yards here in northern jersey. Def makes a huge difference taking it off!
We just ordered a zmaster 4000 model 74055. I wanted the bigger hp from the Kawasaki fx 921. 31 hp compared to other 4000s with kholer efi, toro or Kawasaki fx 801 engines which are mid 20s hp. We've been running a toro multiforce with 52" deck and kholer command pro. I do feel its underpowered in rare situations.
the 4000 series changed the baffles and did away with the slides but is it the same as wide open ? or better? you looked at it? and it has options for 26 back 15 fronts I'm wondering if that making it any comfortable on ride quality and it's less than 1200lbs 2 to 3 hundred lighter than ferris 2200 compared
I have 2 toro 42", one has a stamped deck and the other fabricated. The stamped deck will cut circles around the fab deck, tall grass, short, wet, never scalps, it just doesn't matter to it. But i have to replace the stamped deck about every 250hrs and the fab deck is original but has all the same issues as described in vid.
Going with this model in a 52 with mulch kit. Love Kohler but I'm going kawi more thirsty but more power. Do you think the 25 efi would be a better match for the 52? Its just all the sensors that scare me off I keep equipment long term just feel like a simple carb is more reliable long term.
Hey Ferris 3200 is made for five acres plus, really heavy and for for 1 acre lawns or less. I have Ferris 700z 27 hp great for one acre lots and does good in wet Grass I have 600 hrs.on mower
Johnny, I personally am planning to target rural on official service launch. That said, I am far from sold on any zero turns. I prefer a subcompact tractor because of the following reasons: 1. Versatility 2. Capability in wet areas makes four wheel drive superior in certain circumstances with our clay rich, rocky soil 3. Storage space cost is really high for the lack of versatility 4. With a diesel pickup, the diesel engine equipment is easier to handle the fuel. With a slip tank in the bed, I can roll into a truck stop and refuel quite rapidly and can overload to the pickup and tractor on the job with very little fumes 5. I am tired of dealing with tiny little tanks and gas cans. It is easier to refuel my Harley than it is my walk behinds simply due to fuel incapacity. With the puny fuel tank, I am literally refueling hourly because I cut thick stuff. I have placed thought behind zero turns, tested them, and was unable to justify that kind of money because of the space/output and machine cost/function was so high. I hope this helps. If you are interested in compact/subcompact tractor and dealership treatment importance, check out my other channel, Farming With Chef Matt ...you'll be glad you did. Keep your head up.
I service rural properties with a Grasshopper 700 series with a kubota diesel. Great machine. I will mow circles around your tractor especially around fences, playground equipment, and evergreens. Grasshopper rides good, family busines, front deck 700 and 900 series GH power units can be fitted with heated cab and snow plow, snow thrower, brush, aerator, massive blower and more. The deck and accessories are driven by a PTO shaft. Deck can be manual or power fold. Yes you can easily fold the deck up to sharpen and balance your blades every day....
I will say a tractor with awd or mfwd would be ideal for mountainous areas otherwise Grasshopper 700 or 900 series with diesel is seriously the best machine I've seen for rural properties. Zero turns can have 6 to 14 gallon tanks. My 722d grasshopper has a 4 gal tank but it only burns 0.4 to 0.7 gph in good conditions. I bought my unit used you can order a much larger fuel tank or dual tanks... 8 gallons you could mow for 12-14 hours straight with reserve to get beck to the truck
@@workingcountry1776 we are mountainous in most of my area with some Plains. We have a lot of rock, clay, and softwood trees with some small species of hardwood here and there. The needles stack up quick all year round. Our weather ranges from monsoons to a multi month drought. The temperatures range of subzero temperatures to triple digits. We truly have brutal conditions and a lot of variety in job types in most sections of my target customers. I have tried several types of mowers ranging from garden tractors (useless city boy toy) to zero turn mowers, from walk behinds to stand ons, until I tested a Massey GC1700 series and even rented them a few times and it kicked the John Deere lineup's butt and ate them for breakfast, I was able to cut my mow times and my snow removal times both by consistently 15% on up to 30%. The walk behind still has a place on the trailer for tight spots. I use the Stihl Combination Attachment system and it kicks butt. I cut my transport weight by 35% on those. Surprisingly, I was will be able to fit and use a professional Edger and a high wheeled weed trimmer on the trailer as well. Security is of little concern, the police have a response time of five minutes or less where I live. I have a storage locker and an outdoor parking space so security and storage combine to make everything a breeze. It is as simple and effective as it gets. The trailer's chains get removed from the trailer at night and the unique hitch gets removed with the chains. The trailer has two stage jacks and I am able to keep the tong from going low enough to set on the average pickup ball heights. The load securement is oversized and overrated and they get locks put on them, the tires get immobilized and the front is kept extremely light whilst the trailer stays heavy. The trailer is long enough that the average crook doesn't want the hassle. If anyone wanted to get something hooked up and steal it, the numerous other trailers around me insure that someone wanting to steal things are going to find easy pickings, chances are that if anyone attempted to steal anything, they'd be apprehended immediately anyway. Everyone does their part to make it inconvenient to snatch anything. It is the old saying of, just be faster than the slowest and you will survive. That and to catch a criminal, you gotta think like one. If you think moving my tractor on the deck to steal it will be easy, if I go to that level on the trailer itself, imagine everything I do to insure everything else is as inconvenient to steal as possible. I have literally 12 years in high security experience. Cops catch the dumb ones. I catch the rest. (Including my own family members, I am not partial and not a player of favorites which pisses my family off). You do not want to know what other behemoths are in the Arsenal either.
Jonny can you or get someone to test and compare the toro 4000 and ferris 2200. I can't decide lol. the big tires and long warranty is tempting on the toro but im wondering about the deck cutting. I do love the 61 icd deck and 7 iron decks
Sorry, I just saw this today 12/9/2021. I'm listening to you complain about the mower and I'm just wondering why you would want a 25 hp EFI Koehler on a 60 in deck. Especially one that the oil filter comes off. I'm looking at the 2021 Toro catalog and I don't even see the 3000 series. I guess the 4000 took its place. I do know for a fact that the 4000 does not have the adjustable baffle. I recently demoed a 4000 with the 60 inch deck. It had the 31 hp kawasaki (carbeurated), and it was a beast. I'm probably going to get a 52 inch. Not sure if I want the 31 hp or the 25.5 kawasaki.
I have 4 of them motors on my exmarks never had that filter problem ..im guessing you tried tightening the Hex bolt up on the end of the thread bolt that the oil filter screws on to..just saying.....i just took one of my back up mowers to a new exmark dealer to get my deck baffles replaced on a older exmark so i have something to mount a mulch kit to ..dealer told me i cant buy baffles but he can get them from exmark..i think exmark should have bolt on baffles so we can change them out.... with the soil and winter leaves it is hard on them here where im at and they get super thin
No more z master 3000 series from toro. The 4000 is supposedly the replacement, they have gone to transaxles and hydro gear instead of unitized Parker pumps. Not a fan of the look either. The 5000 and 6000 series are supposedly being redesigned as we speak 😔
awesome 👌vids and thanks for your expert 👍knowledge. I have the 2021 4000 series 52 in deck zmaster with the 25.5hp kawasaki (wish they had the 31hp at the time of purchase though) any thoughts on their deck? also currently I have the ballards x blade adapters on with the factory 15/16 blades on bottom with the gators on top and have the e vac belt driven twin bagger on. cuts and vacs good but since things are warming up plans are to remove vac and deck reduce plate off for side discharge. question, should I continue using the x blades with the high lift short tails on bottom and factory toros on top or just remove x blades and run single high lift short tails ? just wanted to know best blade configuration for cut quality with nice stripes. also don't know why toro did away with their adjustable front deck baffle on the 4000 series? thanks for your help and suggestions 🙂

I’m not a kaw fan drinks gas and you have to adjust the valves. 25 with a 52 is a better match for sure.
