I've seen the "sidekick syndrome" happen in corporate business over and over. A talented employee makes a department shine, but the executives fire the employee when they ask for a raise, thinking they can just plug in someone else. The department goes down, morale suffers, and the executives blame the fired employee for being "greedy." So stupid.

I support this attitude towards life. Unfortunately, many don’t have the chance to do this
I like how this interview shows how we as humans balance our personal freedom with public safety and health. It also demonstrates how media influences what people think and how important it is to stick to your moral and creative beliefs despite the pressures of making money and meeting societal expectations. To me, the events of 2020 reminded me a lot of the dystopian novel "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. In the book, society is controlled through advanced technology and by shaping people's beliefs and behaviors to keep everyone happy and prevent disagreements. It felt like the people in charge were trying to do something similar during that time. The book also shows scenarios where people closely watch and police each other's behavior.
People loved their servitude in that book, as opposed to Nineteen Eighty Four. I feel like I'm living in a mashup of Huxley's work, The Matrix, and Idiocracy.
Gyms and places to socialize were closed, but line ups in front of pot and booze store. Just stay inside and be stoned.

Vaccine didn’t stop me from getting it twice, even with the booster. Almost lost my apartment twice because I got it after the Covid relief benefits ended. That shit sucked because I wasn’t allowed back to work until it was gone. Which was 3 weeks at a time.

why are you laughing at that? There are a LOT of people who are so immunocompromised that they have a 90%(or higher) of dying from getting covid. Just a few examples:
people with HIV, chemo patients, people with severe heart disease, babies born with a C-Section, transplant patients(they have to take drugs to supress the Immune System so that it doesn't attack the transplant organ), etc.

The interviewers surprise that this issue divided people.. really I was locked in a house with 1 hour per day pass to walk the dog with attestation checked by Police living in the countryside of course it divided people it was fucking ridiculous. Only when you stepped outside of the official narrative it got worse because you saw just how ignorant and easily manipulated people were and that disappointment is almost the worst bit.
Yeah it's really annoying that anyone still acts surprised or confused by what happened. Lex is particularly well-read, he should be confident in knowing why people got so divided.
I've had covid twice... Got over it in 4 days. I know everyone is different, and I would never speak ill of someone taking the jab. But mandating the vaccine should have never been a thing.
That's in hindsight though. At the time, it was known that Covid was spreading insanely quickly and far. How should doctors/government/scientists react to that? Wait and see?

They should have done what non corrupt scientists and doctors were pushing for with The Great Barrington Declaration. Focus the resources towards protecting those in the community that were most at risk and allow everyone else to continue to live their lives as the lockdowns and COVID measures caused more death and mental health decline than getting COVID. Dr. Birx, Fauci, and Pence all treated COVID like it was AIDS. Birx wanted zero transmission which was known to be impossible and fear mongered like her and Fauci did about AIDS transmission. They claimed anyone could get it at anytime ... which was always a lie.
3 googles and i said no thanks, ill wait it out so those who want it can have mine. Didnt tell anyone not to get it. Family seemed upset until i explained the mechanism of action and why i thought, being essential and working the entire 2020 year that i likely had some immunity. Im a highschool grad, but after years of these shots.. seeing the new data coming out of japan, im glad i took the time to understand what the shots mechanism was. Concluding the spike isnt something i want my cells making. A key feature of lipid nanoparticles is that they have the ability to cross bbb, and that was the last thing i needed to know to make my decision.

And we didn't have antivax people and antivax rallies 2 months into the lockdowns, we didnt have a vaccine yet, and mandates were like a year away. But i get what he's saying.
I grew up in MN my whole life and i remember protecting a friend business. We had two guys in lawn chairs in front of the building and 6 on the roof. Its felt like the apocalypse, thankfully no one tried to do anything as it was no longer an easy target. The only time it got heated is when the cops came up and thanked us for carrying pistols and rifles in public and "helping them". That wasnt true at all but some people saw that and thought we were cops, we had a reapectful conversation with about 30 people and proved to them we were cops and we were protecting a friends property, they respected it and left. Many "looters" even came up and took pictures with us
I like this except taking pictures with them instead of calling them out for the losers they are.

@@justinsmith4157I participated when it actually was experimental during the clinical trial. I’m a high school educated scientist, but I also have a PhD. Once the data was published and the vaccine granted emergency use authorization, it was no longer experimental.
I was hospitalised for a month after having it even though I was perfect health/never had pre-existing conditions. Shit was no joke to deal with. Shots saved my life otherwise I wouldn’t have pulled through. It strengthens your ability to fight back and lessen the chance of it killing you.
I remember day 10 I had 39.3°c then in a couple of hours I went to 36.5°c it just went away.
