- In this episode 5 on our flip car series, we purchase a highly damaged V8 HEMI Chrysler 300c sedan from salvage auction. This one is very badly damaged or seems to be, but we show you the process of determining what to look for in damaged vehicles so that you can purchase absolute gems which look worse than they are which keeps the price down. Although this vehicle looks bad once explained you will agree that it is a perfect purchase and one that most people at home could repair with some basic tools and skills. In this episode we delve into the auction pictures showing what we see and what to look for we then go and purchase the parts before picking the car up which is a risky move but show you how we determined what to purchase, the kms are unknown and if there is a key to it is a mystery. Will it run and be a good purchase?
This episode shows you everything from the buying process, the visual damage and what to look for, the parts process of what to buy, picking it up from auction, seeing if it runs, then the tear down, the repair work, we have airbags to replaced, seat belts, a new dashboard to replace, some wiring to repair, suspension work that needs replacing, paint and panel work, split bumper repair, the reinstallation process, and detailing process, and the scan tool and clearing of codes, all of this and more in the one episode, yes it is movie length but the end results will be sure to impress and amaze of what can be achieved in a few days with a little hard work. Once again showing many skills sets and hopefully teaching you the viewer some new skills and knowledge to help you to perhaps do something similar. In the end the decision was made that the car will remain in house and be kept, that's how good it turned out. This is one episode not to be missed.
