Medicaid is different from Medicare because Medicaid is a joint operation between the states and the federal government. Medicare is solely federal so it is uniform across the states. If Medicaid is not working talk to your state representative.

The poverty level for a family of three is just $25,820. Heck that's basically poverty for one person. How do they expect anyone to pay for health insurance with that kind of income?

We really need to expedite medical research too so that health insurance in general, whether public or private, is not as needed. More cures, low cost treatments, and even beneficial nanotechnology would help.

We could allow more younger people to sign onto a plan voluntarily in a buy-in program or support poor families in need of better healthcare through expansion of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. We can also remove state lines for those wanting to find smaller insurance companies that will provide lower cost and higher quality coverage. We could ensure poorer people have more say within the stock market, so that they are more financially independent to buy high quality insurance.
Though the biggest initiative should be finding cures and low cost treatments to make insurance and hospital visits in general not as needed.

Furthermore, when everyone has access to preventive care, in the long run there are fewer catastrophically sick people, even elders. Right now, Medicare doesn't work that great because it's dealing with the cumulative effects of our elders' lifetime of neglected health. Better lifetime care means elders don't need as intensive services.

I'm in Illinois, same here. I'm a cancer survivor. I put off a much needed surgery for over a year bcuz I don't have insurance other than Medicare Part B. I'm responsible to pay the rest. I recieve $23 in Link. I had worked a corporate job for years, but now, divorced, age 61, living on Soc Sec, living on one income & $23 in Link. Illinois needs to be looked into. I'm below the poverty level, recieve $23 in Link, but I cannot get Medicaid??????? Why???
Because you’re eligible for Medicare. Get an insurance broker to help you if you can.

DeSantis noted that "while we were able to avoid the woke agenda during the pandemic and saved our economy," for some reason we have to have every recipient in the state reapply and the "extra help" for prescription coverage has ended. Well where did all that money go then?
Most of the processes for getting any kind of help from the state are completely broken in Florida. I’ve met a few people caught up in that, and there have been a lot of news stories as well. Websites don’t work, you can’t talk to a human, emails aren’t answered, physical applications either don’t exist or were “never received”. Meanwhile the process for penalizing people or kicking them off is happening automatically and again people have no way to contest it.
If you are against healthcare I am against you. I ldc which party you're from. I will vote based on that.

The problem is…..it does not matter what max or min numbers are used to determine Social Security payouts. Somebody, somewhere, will get cut off and as a result somebody will miss that cutoff by only a few dollars. No matter what rule or dollar limit is used, somebody will be upset.
I think long term care has a higher income cap. And judging by her medical conditions, she should be on it. But a lot has changed in 15 years, like the vilification of the poor,elderly and disabled.

I have low income I am 53 years old and I was kicked off Medicaid simply because they're not expanding it for adults in Florida. I have no insurance. Hopefully someday I'll just drop

I understand. My late husband would say the government would be glad when he died; there would be one less person to take care of. He became extremely ill on a trip to Europe and went into a hospital there. He had excellent care, 6 units of blood, 2 days in ICU, and two procedures for internal bleeding. Our insurance company was notified, and told us they would reimburse 80%. The entire bill was about $6,500. We had to pay it ourselves, THEN insurance would reimburse us. Had to fight for 9 months to get our money. He went into the hospital here for 2 nights, and that was $32,000!

What happened to the Medicare Advantage they had prior to Medicaid? There was an emergent qualification for Medicaid during the pandemic but it was temporary, everyone knew in advance it was temporary. I'm on Medicare and never once got a penny benefit during the pandemic. Every bit of cost of living increase every year is eaten up by the increased Medicare B and higher Medicare D copays.
We need a complete overhaul of the government and insurance,hospitals.
My pcp was getting things ready to send me to an endocrinologist but lost my Medicaid on April 1st. I haven’t been able to go to dr as needed.
My sister n law and I both lost our Medicaid. We are in Louisiana. We are both diabetic. I have a lot of health issues. Was going every three months for injections in my back for cervical stenosis pain.

When my Husband and I were awaiting my disability benefits and it was him just working, we applied for snap just to get some food money. They gave us $10.00. My 81 year old friend got 15.00. In my state, they have been paying people's rent since the pandemic and continue to do so for some reason. It takes away the motivation to get back on their feet.

I make good money pay a huge amount for insurance and cant afford to go to the dr because of my co pays and deductibles. I pay a large amount in taxes so my smpathy is running out.
