- Here's how to use the incredible vocoder tool in the Yamaha Genos.
The vocoder allows you to add vocals to your genos even if you can't sing - simply talk into your Genos and it will create a vocal cord that you can use in your performance. Absolutely GREAT tool. This video is a step by step and should help you to get started with the vocoder!
This video really helped me figure out some great vocal effects. I’m a singer and your tutorial opened up a new world for me. Thank you.

What you said is true. I have had my Genos for 5+ years, and I had no idea that it had these vocoder features. Is the special pack you indicated the only way to have this vocoder effect? Simply amazing… 😮
There’s no pack this is built into the instrument in the vocal harmony section.
Just had a good laugh to myself. Turned the volume up and gave it a go, and even recorded my effort. If Yamaha and Korg made videos like you I’m sure their sales would rocket. All they do is put on some professional player who plays his speciality Jazz piece who’s thinking “Listen to me, ain’t I great” when all the ameteur player wants is instructional videos like you make. I think you should be paid for your time and effort. Very much appreciated. When you work out how to make my voice sound good let me know. Cheers.

Does the vocal harmonizer/vocoder have autotranspose? That enables the voice to pick the harmony range with out having to refinger the chords

Leigh, are there any significant improvements with the Vocoder on the Genos 2?
It seems to me difficult to keep talking normally instead of automatically participating in pitch changes of your voice with the chords
You can do both you don’t have to stay at a fixed pitch

A good old (Shure) SM58 is always a good choice - Phantom Power comes from the keyboard
@@guidografe8339The SM58 doesn‘t require phantom power. It‘s a dynamic mic.
I would not be surprised if Yamaha uses digitised voices of singing stars together with AI techniques to allow you to sing along to a tune and have your voice sound exactly like the original star's voice? It would certainly allow people like me who would clear a room if I started to sing with my own voice.
Can you change vocoder into normal voice so your singing in tune as a auto tune but under vocoder

Legh , hope you’re good . Korg pa4x pro user vocalist. Excited about new Genos . Question … not used yamaha since tyros 1 didn’t like vocal sound or the Micky mouse home speaker system. It may be better now but with the new keyboard have you come across some attractive home speakers that do a better job than the usual set up. Satellites usually have a mid range hole and I want a great vocal sound plus great piano.??? Anything out there in white .. budget not a problem ??

Thanks legh they look great do they out perform the usual set up , high, warm midrange and sufficient bass?
Also … don’t want to add mixer or amp . I see the active is hs5 is that the same thing?
