I just got a mint condition Genos 1 mainly for church use, and the single tap to load a bank to the proper registration is fantastic! It was several more taps before this. I love your videos. The Genos has changed my musical life which is going on 35 years now.
This is like my gig disk. On my PSR I used to make a gig list depending on what I want to do for a certain audience. At the retirement home I had about 15 songs for the elderly folks I played and for the bars I had a gig list for that of about 30 songs. The play list looks to be the same thing where the list is stored on the Keyboard instead o0f written in a book. This is neat, thanks...
I have had a Genos for 5 years now and I never knew that you could determine with the playlist via edit which registration you could start with and immediately retrieve the text file. S U P E R 👌
Your info sessions Leigh are out of this world, I,m a ex pat Yorke, now living in Vic Australia for the last 55 years.I have just had my Genos 2months, but I still have my T 5, keep up the good work. Kind regards AllanRobinson. Aus.😊
Thanks - the video helped me with Playlists for the Yamaha SX-600, somewhat similar methods. 😊 (Though a Genos would DEFINITELY be a nice thing to own!) 😁
Hi Leigh! Thank you for your helpful tutorial. I still am waiting for a usable search function and online features for new hits for example. In general good step ahead compared to former Yamaha keys considering a different approach.
Hi Leigh, yes I finally have my Genos 1 with a very nice trade in on my Tyros 5. I disgarded all of my registries from T5 as I wanted to create from scrtach and that itself is a marvellous journey. I did put two songs on my channel already (where I think the style voor Crazy is absolutely crazy :-) One question on the songlist, is there a way to (for example via footswitch) sequentially load every next playlist entry? I know you could jump through registry settings with the pedal. Your videos are very informational so it is no 'enduring' anymore but actually fun and learning :-)
Great videos very helpful Please can you advice I'm trying to find a style for apache by the shadows. I have the expansion packs from yamaha. I can't find the shadows style on my keyboard can you help thanks
Hello Leigh.. Loving these tutorials and getting so much out of your help. I hope you can help me with a quick question that's been bugging me with my DGX670 for some time. Either a quick how to video or just a simple answer here would help. I am having trouble with my volume constantly changing with every new OTS change and variation? I set up parameters to keep in my menu but that didn't do the trick maybe I did the wrong parameters. I am trying to keep all sound volume including voices, styles, registrations and any chord or new voices from reverting back to 100 percent... What am I doing wrong.. Any help would be appreciated.
@LeighWilbraham thanks for your reply.. yes, I guess I am but I thought it only happened when the OTS button was on but it is indeed when using registrations.. is there a way to override those settings in registration without saving all the registrations again?
Hi Leigh I have about 300 songs as wave files on my user memory. These are not registrations. They are only wave files which song titles when I create a new playlist to be able to play say 40 songs at a wedding. How do I add wave file to a new playlist I just can’t figure it out thanks .
Leigh question: Can I download songs into Genos that I have separately recorded on a USB stick (independent of Genos) and then be able to play back those songs while at the same time playing them on the keyboard?
@@LeighWilbraham Thanks... would those be mp3 or wav files that can be loaded through a USB port via a USB stick. Also which port does the USB stick have to be loaded in? 😀
I think i have found the answer to my question.. its on page 76 on the Genos2 user manual.. it says “Commercially available songs: Midi files is SMF format and Audio files in WAV and MP3 format.
Leigh, what types of files/songs can I import to Genos5 that would show me styles, voices and lyrics (if available) .. would they have to be ,wav files so I can add them to a playlist ??
WHY is it that when I create a new playlist, and then try to load a song, I get a message "Data loaded incorrectly?" I followed you instructions to the letter! Help???
Hi Leigh i went to music store and looked at Genos 2 i note that on Genos 1 when you touch play list there are several song styles internally . does the Genos 2 also have internal song styles ???
The adverts are a major problem. They are so frequent and pop up mid sentence and I haven't seen one yet I am interested in. The information you provide is very useful and appreciated but if you don't mind some constructive comments, you do tend to waffle a lot and wander off the point.
Much easier on the Korg cause you just load a style and make you're songbook as opposed to registration that's a lot my button pushing on the Yamaha, but I guess there is some logic to the Yamaha why can't you just use the registrations? is it because you have a list on the screen?
@@Vangelismusic1 rubbish. The Korg only allows 4 voices per song. There’s also a glitch when you go from one song to another. Korg need to get their act together
@@LeighWilbraham What does the voices have to do with a style? maybe be a glitch on the 5x that I haven't used yet but no problem on the PA1000, and here I see you have to press load? why do you have to make a registration why not just import any style from the keyboard? and have the playlist remember all your setting? I have a PSR-A5000 also same function as I can see on the GENOS?
They are registration banks that I have saved - this is how playlist works. If you have a look at the video I explain this is how the playlist feature works

What online features are you referring to.
@@LeighWilbraham I was thinking about an online library for Playlists. We had this with the MusicFinder+ on earlier devices.

At last, it's a truly honest review. Some people need to open their eyes and come into the real world, then stop being so bloody pedantic.😊
