Found a dvx in my neighbors barn! 400$ and some dent work and she was mine, took a week after sitting for 10 years and has been running great ever since!

I had one till a couple years ago need money for school and loved mine plan on getting another one and loved the power and open air box and no baffle and racing shocks and racing pipe
I have a 04 dvx 400 to. Bought last year and have replaced so many parts it’s going to be new soon.

Got an 07 dvx 400 in 2019 for 2500 but it didnt have much time on it so i was ok with paying extra for a super nice quad. Best all around quad ever!
I got a 400 dvx needing transmission work and a couple more adjustments,but it'll take some time to fix but I think it'll be worth it

I bought mine back in October of 21 paid 2000. Put Big gun slip on, k&n air filter with open air box lid, jetted it, new tires, handle bars, nerf bars, front bumper, new clutch , new levers, 12mm front tire rods, new chain, and changed front sprocket to a 13T and it rips...!!! I love my bike...!! And from what I understood Arctic Cat put bigger carb than ltz and kfx... I get guys looking at it all the time. Heading to Bundy Hill this weekend...!!!

You are dead on on the prices, there was a super clean 400ex near me for $4k, it was all original and looked brand new for an 02. It was listed at 4k, thought i had some time to think about it called about it on the 2nd day and it was gone. Looking at one of these now, again real clean but for $4500 for a 2006.
Yeah it’s really unfortunate because they aren’t worth that much at all, but it’s a really great quad
They only made them 04-08

Lbh. Thee ole 400ex can never be beat as far as a 20yo trail ripper.
Reliability wise no but I’d say performance wise the ltz has em beat
I bought it and it was fine... for the first day lmao now for almost 2 years i'm stuck with backfires :(
and in my country it cost me around 5k$ and used cylinder engine head will cost around 2k I hope I will get it fixed really wanted this quad for long time and currently i'm stuck.
I’d try and have the carb tuned and the valves lashed, most of the time it’ll solve the issue

For sure! These are great for trails. It’ll only go as fast as you let it! Has a ton of power in the reserve in case you ever need to tap into it!
When you leave it parked what position do you leave the fuel thing in?

I have a 07 400 dvx with a stage three cam and it's jetted I bought it for 500 bucks from a dude who fucked it up I had to get the case welded and new starter and the rear berring carrier changed but it woops ass against a 230 ttr I'm flying passed everyone in my group one of the people have aa 400es and tried racing me they were topping out and I was in 4 the gear almost gunning it and far as hell in front of them
Definitely underrated machines for sure especially when you wake them up like you did

I really like these quads because they do everything great. They are narrow enough to fit on tighter trails, good suspension, still have a snappy motor, and come with reverse
I just bought one and can't figure out how to get the knob to turn for reverse.
Probably stuck or you gotta hold the breake the on on my raptor I gotta hold it and shift down at the same time
Put it in first then turn knob pull clutch in shift down red light should come on... Then shift up like going to second...
Down shift 2twice while turning the knkb
Yes. Downshift into first gear then turn knob and down shift again, should be reverse...

Can get a little tippy but for the most part yes
