For Wizards MJ, it was mostly about his knee...his skill was still there and his production was improving as he got back into basketball shape after sitting for a couple years...but having fluid removed from his knee during games, he STILL dropped 97 points in 2 games (51 and 46) at the age of 40...he started at 26ppg and he was actually getting better before his kee injury: Final 10 games leading up to his knee injury... Belween 1/21/02- 2/07702 Jordan: 29.7 PPG, 6.6 RPG, 6.1 APG, 1.2 SPG, 47.2% Bryant: 24.3 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 4.2 APG, 1.1 SPG, 47.3% McGrady: 20.3 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 4.3 APG, 1.9 SPG, 41.7% Carter: 24.2 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 3.4 APG, 1.8 SPG, 39.0% Iverson: 32.4 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 4.7 APG, 3.1 SPG, 39.9% ....not a bad stat line at all for an old MJ playing against pros half his age and coming off the couch for 2 years after his 2nd 3-peat and gradually getting back to basketball shape..Bron is doing great at his age but MJ wasnt a scrub, playing all 82 games even at 40...he could have joined Kobe or a stacked team...he came back to sell tickets and help the organization he worked for (and donated his salary to 911 victims)
@DailyMIKAL I mean, he was definitely the second best shooting guard in the league at the time, but honestly, it feels like they were just trying to hype up a rivalry rather than the stomping it became. Rivals are good for sports, but there were no rivals for Jordan. It always became a fucking joke comparing anyone to him.
Mike retired in 03 cause he told everyone he was only gonna play 2 seasons. He wanted to make the wizards better cause before when he was the president of basketball operations, they were terrible. The season before mj suited up they went 19-63
If Wizards MJ wasn't so beaten down physically they woulda made some noise in the playoffs. Not winning a chip of course, but people forget they were on pace for a mid-high seed in the East (yea ik the East grew weaker at this point) before he injured his knee. It sucked I think he stepped on his teammate's foot or sum. But making a playoffs still woulda been amazing, as the Wizards were so trash the year before. They were last in the league I think before Jordan laced em up again.
It would have been the first time ever a sub20 win team made the playoffs the following season. Shame his injury happened, he was averaging around 25ppg. Also sad him and Rip Hamilton didn't get a lot of playing time together as Rip was dealing with an injury in that season aswell.

Jordan and Shaq would kill anyone. Jordan was a scoring machine but he was willing to pass especially if he had a Shaq. It would be lights out.
Shaq pick jordan
shaq and jordan over bron and steph
Jordan and anybody. Jordan and pippen got 6 rings, 0 losses
Bro mj is 10x better than bron bron😂😂

It must be weird being a LeBum fan. His game is super ugly to watch. You must be a box score watcher.
