My Pro 4 was drifting so badly, at times it looked like it was being carried away in a stream. Between your IMU video and calibrating the compass, she's solid as a rock now! Great post and thank you for sharing.
Thank you for this 3 minute IMU calibration. I thought I had a hardware issue; however, after watching your clip it turns out that I was improperly rotating/turning the P4P for frames 4,5 & 6. JimW
I noticed that after powering on my P4P v2.0 that after the gimbal does it's initialization, the camera is tilted to the left (not level) and then over several minutes, slowwwly rotates until it's almost level. If I do a gimbal calibration, it's straight after the calibration, but upon the next power up, it's back to that slanted and slowly slewing toward level over minutes. I noticed yours powers up level.
HI, as you may be aware, the latest P4 firmware has a bug. The drone wobbles, it may fly away, etc. On the new firmware we got the same IMU calibration process as the P4 Pro. I noticed in your video at min 01:35, step 5/6, the way you put the drone with the battery down is different than what the picture is showing. You didn't rotate the drone to have the DJI logo toward the camera. Few guys on the forum spotted this already and we are wondering if this is where we go wrong?!? Why didn't you rotate the drone at that step? Thanks for your video!
I suppose I thought it didn't matter which way it was facing, as long as it was tilted on the correct side. Are you saying others experienced problems doing it this way?
No, I was only wondering why you did it that way. Many of us get an IMU error when powering up the P4. The error disappears after a while and we have to wait a bit longer for the IMU to warm up. I noticed your step being different. Do you get an IMU error?
We got our new Phantom 4 Pro. Out of the box we updated firm ware, calibrated compass, and tried to do an IMU calibrate. The surface was flat using a level to make sure. Phantom 4 Pro and controller not warm. Tried IMU Calibrate over one dozen times. Inside, outside, no metal, or electro magnetic objects around to include keys, money change, or cell phone. One You tube video even suggested cooling down Phantom 4 Pro, so we cooled down to 42 degrees F. Next day tried again. We kept getting IMU calibrate Failed, try again. Error code 22 Dji sent us this video from Avalanch, which was very helpful, but our Phantom 4 Pro will not calibrate. ANY MORE SUGGESTIONS?

Straight to the point and no waffle, good vid

Glad it was a quick fix!
Sir my new dji p4 v2 gimble is always faceing downward. How to fix and make it horizontal.

See 1:27 - That step clearly shows the drone tipped forward (toward the front of the camera). Then the next step is tipped the opposite direction.
I saw that, yet, DJI IMU calibration video shows the battery should face you. Your calibration isn't like that.

Great job
Is this option only in the Phantom 4 Pro ?
Thanks
What different Between IMU and another one calibrate, which one is better ? Im newbie, please give me Information... ^^
Thanks a million.... that helped a lot.
Is this really necessary to calibrate? I got my p4p couple days ago, running smoothly so far. Why do i need this?
Did you update the newest firmware? Thanks for sharing.
Yes, that was the first thing I did after unboxing.

I have the same problem! Have you fixed it yet!?
***** I called DJI and they said its an internal program error, and to ship it back to them.
on the new update phantom 4 have the same imu calibration as a phantom 4 pro...
thank for the video ,p4 has update the new IMU calibration like p4 pro
tried several times and always with the same result, Error 22..... issues any solutions?
TH.MKN are you calibrating on a completely flat surface?
My calibration stops at step 1/6 and nothing happens. Can anyone tell my whats wrong?
new firmware? I tried many times and error 22
sk seven yes, we updated the firmware prior to calibrating the IMU
avalanche, update date (firmware) ?
wow, ths... my two p4p error 22 :(
Cool. That was a New way to calibrate. I have Phantom 4 and Its a fantastic drone. Nice this Pro))
teknofil007 I got a phantom 4 mine does imu calibration like this too but some other people don't how do u do yours???
Nice demonstration, but I hope your coffee table was perfectly level. If not, this could cause issues, especially with the gimbal.
Bobster986 good call! No problems after two flights, but I'll make sure and recalibrate if it's not
Merci
