Adding a Headlight to my Motoped with the following parts -

Trail Tech X2 Halogen Headlight

Random 3.9mm bullet connectors (and triples, which I didn't need as the Stator came with one already). Purchased from eBay - Listed as "Japanese Bullet 3.9mm".

I cant find a link for the ratcheting crimper I use, I got it in a case for vintage motorcycle connectors.
This set-up only regulates the AC voltage put out by the Stator, it does not rectify it to DC.
I use a battery powered bicycle light for the tail light (rear red light is all that's required in my state for a Moped which is how this is registered) - Which I prefer as if the engine stops, I lose power and the headlight. This way I still have a rear light so hopefully I don't get hit if I stall it on the road.
The low beam is plenty bright enough. The high beam that has both lights on seems to be too much for the Stator (90 Watt output, light is 70 Watts on high) as it reduces the brightness of the low light too. I may have to switch to a DC Regulator/Rectifier so I'm not wasting power when the AC regulator shunts anything in excess of 13.8V to ground. - Навчання та стиль
horrible👎
Instablaster.
Very professional work. The camera always being in focus was a huge plus.
Nice clean job, I really enjoy watching all the parts come together, nice bike !!
Well done
Frank
the trail tech reg you have there you can crank up the volts to make your head light brighter.
nice job and a great looking little machine
Love it. Such a nice looking bike. Great job
its a mini chopper that im working on but its more like medium size so what you think is the best motor out of those 3 should I run
Thanks very much for the parts list and links :)
awesome video!! would this be the same if i wanted to do this on a crf250r?
What the tool called that you take off stator cover with
So this works on a piranha 140 engine ? Please let me know asap
Hey man u know the uni air filter size I keep getting the wrong one and it's far going to cycle Gear and it like the 4th time I been getting the wrong one

Definitely Totally badass
nice video man
very nice video you explain everything to me that i neeeded to know with out even saying a word i have watch over 50 videos and you have out done them with the info you showed on this video i just got a 2004 crf450 that i wanted to make street legal and was vary lost until i saw your video
The link for the stator says it's not compatible with my Honda CRF50F
n1pbd what should I use the piranha 140cc or BLack Lifan 125 4 up SEMI Engine
or the BLack Lifan 125 Manual 4 up Engine
the bike im working on is gonna be a bit heavy would really appreciate your input
I'd make the decision based on if you want a semi or manual clutch - If manual then the Piranha has a slight edge over the Lifan (larger bore, slightly better build quality) so I'd go with that. If you want Semi, the performance of the Lifan Semi is good and I'd get that as the difference between the Piranha and the Lifan isn't big enough to go manual if you prefer a semi-automatic.
n1bpd so the speed dont really differ from the 140cc piranha to the lifan 125cc
where did you buy this lighting kit from? i want to make my crf50 street legal and im looking for a light kit, thanks
+DjJsoo I bought the parts individually, they are all listed in the description.
+n1bpd ok thanks you!

can you help me with the measures of the transmission parts, please? My e-mail is: batallafabio@hotmail.com
Great Job. I have a question. I have a CRF50, CRF70 and TTR90 and CDI'S that I have for them but never installed....How do you wire up a CDI on a stock CRF50. Does it go to the rotor assembly. I can't find any Videos how to install one. If anyone could send me a link, etc, I would appreciate it. Not sure if you need a special rotor kit, etc, but I have about 4 new CDI,s that came with new Coils and plugs. Also, does it do any more for the Bike or mostly Show unless upgrading to a Big Bore kit. I am clueless when it comes to Electrical on these things....thanks Guys !!!
+Silk Boxing They come with CDI's, so a new one will just plug in where the old one was. If you mean adding a regulator/rectifier I wrote up some more information about that here -

+n1bpd My Man, Got it.........Didn't realize is was standard and I just clipped it on the one under the seat, But I did attach to the frame so all Good. Thanks A lot !
Where do you buy the Honda engine for your motoped.
I got this one by buying a CRF50F someone had for sale on craigslist (and then added the big bore kit and race head etc myself). I got a good deal on the CRF50F, and sold the frame, wheels etc so the engine itself ended up costing relatively little.

You can find the engines by themselves on eBay aswell, I just got another on eBay and it came with a lot of upgrades (108 stroker crank, Takegawa cylinder, Race head etc) for a lot less than just the upgrades would have cost.
n1bpd Thx for the quick response and for the info.
Thanks very much for video. Perhaps drill some holes or notches in the mounting plate for the zipties so they can't slide off...
Thanks, I ended up drilling holes for this when I remade the plate. You can see the new plate plus DC/LED headlight version here - n1bpd.com/wordpress/?p=236
n1bpd The DC/LED headlight instructions are exactly what I am looking for. You have done an excellent job fabricating the parts and also documenting the procedure . Thank you for supporting the Motoped community.
Lights tail and front, and bell
barrels& yoyo cable barriers.
No tail lights
All the tail lights the size I wanted were LED so I'd need a rectifier - which I did end up doing along with changing over to LED headlights and adding a battery -

Why not buy a motoped led head light? I have one on my MOTOPED CRUZER much brighter then that one and would look better.
