100kg weighted pull up is absolutely nuts. Literally adding more than his bodyweight and it was even on a bar. The level of back, forearm and hand strength is unreal.

@@redditfm4578 There are well done studies that show what your AVERAGE climber should be able to pull based on what grade they can climb. And these are measured on hang boards, not on an actual pull up bar where you have better grip and doesn't require any finger strength. The AVERAGE climber in the highest grades amongst men average at being able to pull 170%+ of their body weight. And that is kind of the baseline requirment strength wise to be able to do it. Emil is just among the most elite climbers physically in the world.
Bc your numbers are 1,5,9 right? But he did 1 9 and 17. So you start on one of course so there’s that but then you have the other two numbers. So you take the five and add it to itself minus the one that we started on and what do you get? Nine. So we can do the same with the other one so nine plus itself minus the one we started with and you get seventeen 👍 (I really have no idea but this makes the most sense)

In less than a year i went from not being able to hold to doing 1-4. Not really an amazing accomplishment compared to the video, but still you will be surprised how much you can progress if you take small steps.

Hey man, I’m 12 and I am going to a rock climbing summer camp in a few days but I am almost deathly afraid of heights, and am worried I am going to embarrass myself in front of a bunch of other kids who aren’t scared because heights is one of the few things I will cry about and or hyperventilate, any help I can overcome it?????

It’s clear…the weighted pull-up training lengthened his arms so it was easier for him to reach 1-5-9. Longer arms are super essential to success at campus.

I don't do rock climbing and I'm probably too old and banged up to start learning now, but thanks for the videos cuz I think I could transfer and adapt some of the character traits you guys Express in two different areas of my personal life. Self-control commitment. Patience and endurance. Having vision and seeing it through to full completion.

So strength is a thing but strength isn’t enough, you have to train all the separate muscles you’re using to work correctly together and that only comes through years of repetition.
