CBS Television Stations Sales Tape (1981) (Part 1)

- Опубліковано 18 жов 2024
- This is a Sales Presentation from 1981 for the CBS Television Stations Division, which includes promos from all of the CBS O&Os of the time such as WCBS New York, KNXT Los Angeles (now KCBS), WCAU Philadelphia, WBBM Chicago, and KMOX St. Louis (now KMOV).
Since this is a 30-Minute Presentation, I've decided that it's best to split this clip into two parts. This is Part 1.

I hope y’all will reply to this Maclovio Perez also worked for KENS 5 the CBS affiliate in San Antonio Texas
The CBS Television Stations used to be FIVE stations. But now, they grew BIGGER!
MORE CBS O&Os include the following
- KCNC Denver
- WCCO in Minneapolis/St. Paul
- WFOR in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale
- the former Group W/Westinghouse Stations: WJZ Baltimore, WBZ Boston, KDKA Pittsburgh, KPIX San Francisco/San Jose/Oakland, and of course, KYW Philadelphia (after WCAU Channel 10 turned the rights (of being a CBS O&O in Philly) over to KYW Channel 3)
- KTVT Dallas/Ft. Worth
Scoop Nemeth In those days, network O&Os were limited to five stations, including the big three markets (New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago).
Now with Philadelphia, it’s the big four; CBS, NBC, and Fox also have O&Os in #5 Dallas-Fort Worth (WFAA is Tegna-owned).
Don't forget WWJ in Detroit
You mean WWJ (originally Channel 4's call letters before they became WDIV); WJW is Cleveland and formerly CBS, but now Fox.
Jonathan Allen I know!! I've just edited it!! LOL Detroit had a CONFUSING history if network switching I understand.
The reason why the CBS Television Stations grew bigger is because they merged with Westinghouse Broadcasting (Group W) in 1995.
A few months later, Bill Kurtis will join Diane Sawyer to anchor the CBS Morning News. He will later return home to CBS-2 Chicago by 1985.
And also returning home to Chicago that same time? The late Floyd Kalber, now at WLS (who would unseat WBBM and remains #1 in Chicago to this day).
And KMOV is now a Gray station, because Tegna already owns KSDK.
Oh, and WCAU (now an NBC O&O) is _still_ the official station of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jonathan Allen... #CountOnIt!
1:53 - Merv:" Do you have a PAIR, Sylvia? Charles Nelson Reilly: "She certainly DOES!"....Oh, boys, boys, boys!
A rarity at 5:40 - the Entertainment Tonight pilot (before the well-known logo and theme music)!
8:25 Those 2 clips are from the previous year's Fall Campaign "Looking Good Together",
I love both the owned and operated television stations and the channels that is owns and operates by the CBS Television Stations, the division of CBS Corporation.
WCAU-TV its now NBC O&O bc CBS its now ch 3 KYW
And now Belo has been bought out by Gannett
Who are they trying to sell to?
Well since these station of course were network-owned, I'm assuming this was being sold to advertisers.
@@stevieboy247 oh yea good point. Basically look at our top shows and great newscasts you will want to advertise on our station. Makes sense.
I wish there could've been promos from KIRO (Seattle), KOIN (Portland), & KPIX (San Francisco) from that era. Oh well.
I like how Joan Rivers thinks concerning marriage. LOL
@JHollowayNetwork It's simple.
If you have any type of material that's about 30 Minutes long or a little short than 30, then you can use Video Splitting software that can split AVI, MPEG, and other types of Video files. Just look it up on Google. Or if you have a PC with Windows on it, you can just use Windows Movie Maker to split the files.
Hope this advice helps!
Well if I would upload the clip in full, then I would have to delete the seperate clips that I have posted on here and upload the whole clip from scratch, which is a little complicated and it's something I prefer not to do.
I'm better off just keeping the two clips intact. It doesn't have anything to do with copyright violations, it just less time consuming and more convenient.
@ILoveLogos75 I don't have any of that stuff, Sorry!!!
However, you should see a short promo for a program entitled 'Walt Disney' in Part 2 of the Sales Promo.
How do I Split Clips Into Two Parts like that?
