The song they play is: "Norge i rødt, hvitt og blått"(Norway in red, white and blue)

Asgeir Værnes Thanks! It's in the description, although with one small detail to add. In the norwegian Wikipedia (in which I had to use the translator!), it says that the music was made by Lars-Erik Larsson, but "with text by Finn Bø , Bias Bernhoft and Arild Feldborg". Do I need to point all the three for the lyrics ?

Asgeir Værnes All done! Sorry for the delay, due to the nature of my occupation (Truck driving... or "Lorry" driving, as the Brits are fond of saying!). And thanks for the clarification about the "Honnørmarsj"; I wasn't sure if it was one or two songs in this video...

Thanks for posting this. It's fun to look back at that trip to Halifax. I forgot how hot it was that day, and how long that march felt, haha. Good times.

And I was wearing a white Canadian Olympic Hockey jersey (Sochi version) bought a day earlier at a sports store in the Darmouth Crossing shopping area! Nothing to keep it cool, no sir!

@@sasgrafix It was refreshing to get out of that parade uniform and into normal wear after we finished, I can tell you that. I was amongst the drill-guardsmen marching behind the band :)

In regular clothes, right after the parade? If so, were you also part of the 2pm show right after?

@@sasgrafix As in regular military uniform, not the parade uniform. It's been a long time, so I can't really recall all the shows and wether or not I partook in that specific one. But in general if there were some hours in between shows we got into our regular uniforms to prepare for the next events of the day. Practicing routines, tidying up the parade uniform to be ready for another show, etc.

I’m thoroughly confused as to why there’s Norwegian Soldiers in a parade on Canada day. There’s not even Canadian soldiers in the Canada day parade in my city.

We in Norway are aware of the problem. Therefore we are sending our best men as "compensation" for the Canadian absence..😂👍

The music is by Swede Lars-Erik Larsson. The original title was "Obligationsmarschen" (The Bond March) and the original lyrics encourage people to buy war bonds during WWII. The Norwegians are welcome to use it though :)

Canada and Norway had good cooperation during World War II. I'm thinking of "Little Norway" in Toronto. Man should not listen to rumors, but it is not impossible that there are some Canadians who have some Viking blood :)
