Your video brings back memories. When I was in high school my father got a red 4 door RX-2 like yours for me to drive. The rotary engine was loads of fun, and back in the 1970s it was a fast car. Once you learned how, you could sneak up on your friends and make it backfire scaring the pants off of them. One brilliant feature of the car that I have never seen on any other, no matter how costly or luxurious, is the instrument area air vents. There is a small knob that allows you to send two small streams of unheated outside cool air through the steering wheel to the drivers face. So during winter when you have the heat cranking, instead of getting fatigued the driver can get the perfect amount of cool fresh air to their face.

Nice Damian I love old school rotary cars I have a 75 repu still working on it almost have all the parts ready but will soon MAKE A video on it good job on that rx2.
They are three piece modular Epsilons. I used to work for them in the 80s. Bolting then together in the warehouse and shipping them out. He has the later versions where the “center lock” cap and cover was held down by a bolt. The early versions had their covers held down by an actual center big ‘nut’ that screwed on. But still a not a true centerlock type wheel.
how could they make a video like this without showing under the hood or even talking about the engine besides the fact that its a rotary? beautiful car though. maybe im missing something
At that time the motor was pretty stock. Nothing special, and not to mention the engine bay needed a little cleaning up. The car is super clean, but the engine bay needs some work.
Australians style is no where near this, they ruin their rotaries by putting oversized wheels on, New Zealand is the only place in the world who has the best style.....
Beautiful car, beautiful build. I do so wish I had my two door RX2 coupe back! Thank you SO much for preserving this unique little car!
+mikeandhisdogs Never too late to pick one up Mikey!... ;)

It's always fun to run into people who had these cars when they were younger! I believe Damian's car still has those vents you are talking about. :)
