That bed/couch setup is the best I've seen to date. Prototype or not. I'm floored. I've been trying to figure out a design just like this but this is better than I could have imagined. I never once considered using a rail system. Thanks for the awesome video. I might have to get this guy to build my rug.
I like seeing tours like this. Gives me plenty of ideas for when I am ready to build out mine. When I first started watching the video's I wanted a super complicated and expensive build-out but now I've simplified things to fit for me. So thank you for these videos they help a lot.
This may be my favorite video so far. I'll never have a $120k van. But seeing what Anthony has done here inspires me to continue building my $14k cargo trailer and reminds us that "good enough" is just fine.
This man’s story is so incredible! What a great journey he’s been on so far. I love this build a ton and he has both a dog and cat nice 👍🏼 I wish I had ambition like that cause there is so much life to be lived but he goes and lives it.
Ok when he makes that bed a full blown product I need one for my 2003 safari! Great set up he has! Very creative with the layout and didn’t lose all window vision!!! I love this van! The animals rock too! 🔥😎
Anthony is a very creative individual..this was an excellent video..sometimes the vans don't always have to be fancy just have to make the person in them happy (and their pets)
Love the modular components that only use OEM factory tabs, can't wait to see your products DirtBagCustom! Thanks Jarrod for highlighting aftermarket innovators!
Really dig this guy's personality. He's someone that fits in anywhere. Being a dog and cat ower myself I totally understand his philosophy. I make sure everything is useful for my dog's.
i am getting ready to build out a van and be a traveling bartender of sorts and this van design is absolutely PERFECT. The fact it is so pet friendly too is the best because i have 2 cats that will be travelling with me as well! thank you for this awesome video !
Very cool van. I have the exact same setup in my GMC Safari. The bed sits between two wooden side storage thingies. Mine also can be shortened into a bed. But mine has legs.😁
Thanks for the tour of this innovative Astro build. Fun to meet Anthony, hear a bit of his story, and see his cool inventions in action. Most chill dog and cat ever. P.S. Curious about the burn marks on the cabinets... are those the dirtbag version of shou sugoi ban?
I live in Wisconsin and have a 1997 Astro Van that I am trying to set up as a weekend or getaway travel van for me and my two dogs. Women get visions of gander and want a lot, but I have to be reasonable with little space and two dogs. (1) No company in Milwaukee or Wisconsin has a clue where to start on converting this for me(from floors, bench/couch, electrical, etc.) I tore out the middle captain chairs and bench/couch myself, but would like to put the original bench/couch back in. I'm 4"11" so bed is ok for my size, but have 6 feet grandsons and looking at lots of videos on how to extend it. (2) How tall is Anthony? (3) what type of power station do I need to run a 12v refrigerator and other smaller components for power.
I thought you could lift up on the hinge to release them to open further. At least I saw that in a video once. I don't own one but looking to buy an 03-05 awd in the very near future. Waiting on the right deal.
Someone near me is selling a 2003 Astro with 53,000 miles for $8000 obo and I’m going to test drive it tomorrow. I don’t wanna just jump into it but I also am so done paying rent and just wanna start over rent free and go get lost. The one I’m going to see looks just like this, color and all.
@@sandeedobberstine5591 I put an offer on it but someone beat me to it. I’m still looking for one and saving but I haven’t found the right one yet. Definitely still a goal though.
I have this van right now, I want to do the same thing, but the engine has started to tick when I start it up. Mechanics tell me that I'd have to replace the exile engine. Any recommendations perchance?
She actually didn't make it to Mexico. Her and I do keep in touch and she's doing great. I believe she's on a break from work now and doing some traveling, of course only as much as possible. Her and I have talked about doing some follow up videos and I'm sure everyone will see her on my channel soon. Thank you for your concern
He does, especially as an aluminum welder. Its a much placated non truth. www.alzheimers.org.uk/about-dementia/risk-factors-and-prevention/metals-and-dementia. Here's a link for the correct facts about aluminum not being associated to the progression or onset of alzheimers
Jarrod dude! Found (& very much like) your (mostly-serious-guy) van videos, but, if you truly are a comedian (or an aspiring one), then why can't I find any videos of your standup? PUT IT OUT THERE!!!! Are you afraid that too many people will see your "tight fifteen" & then you'll have to work-out & write new material? I'd think you'd be putting a little more effort into putting the funny out there for your audience if you want to comedically 'blow up' one day......at LEAST 'play around' a little more with your van-video-collaborators.....channel your inner Tom & Ray Magliozzi (as a fellow chowdah-head I hope you get that reference:)). ---Nothing but (tough) love here from a supporter
That poor cat. Stuffed in an Astro van. Too small for a cat. That van lifer didn't pet his cat the entire video. He sure loved on his dog though. It makes me wonder why he has a cat in the first place?? Watch some Jackson Galaxy videos! Or give that beautiful cat to someone who is going to love it. Where's the cat's bed? Toys? Litter box? That poor thing kept following him around the van. Cats have feelings, and like attention just like dogs do. People who don't understand cats, don't know that.

What a great video. It was great to get to know Anthony and his pets. I loved the bed on the heavy duty drawer slides.
Love this guy. Such a positive spirit.
This caught my attention as a AWD Astro vanlifer in Calgary. Thx for doing this modest van tour Jarrod.

Sweet! I’ve been in my Astro for 4 years now. Still need to do a full build on it but it’s my home.
Had an Astro years show as great. Anthony made his next level. Great tour.

Rad astro van from one Wisconsinite to another happy travels and safe climbing

Happy for the guy, seems to work for him.

I never thought an Astro Van was cool...until now!
Really cool build out!
I love this video very exciting ❤️
Would love some more insight on how u made the cooler and insulated it so well in such a small space
It's more than enough if this is just for holidays and weekends.
Damn wish I could take a month off of work they be like don’t bother coming back lol 😂
