Shohei Ohtani used to play on a team where he felt he had to hit home runs to win, so his batting average wasn't as high, but he hit a lot of homers. This season, he's not forcing home runs and has more hits overall. He's a versatile hitter who can adapt to different situations, currently leading MLB in batting average. And he's an exceptional pitcher too. Is he really human?
He is hitting the ball to all fields this year as well. Just wish more guys would start doing this and we start seeing less shifts.
Exceptional is an understatement. He is an elite pitcher who was pitching top 10 in the entire MLB.
@@Daniel-kl7sjfourth in Cy Young is not an easy feat even if not a elite hitter
Great take.. I can see what you mean. Shohei Ohtani is evolving his game to this team now.
Might be the reason why he isn't very good with RISP so far because he is not used to seeing teammates on bases before him. Lol.
Smith with three 4 hit games already this year is insane
Pujols loved watching him hit, that tells you all you need to know.
This is the Dodgers team we've been waiting for
Exactly!
Yeah me too, let’s go Dodgers!!!😃
If I had a dollar for every time in every year somebody.. let's just hope the rotation saves some gas for October.
Nope not yet goose may Buehler kersh graterol and ohtani (pitching)still have yet to return we still getting warmed up
Andy Pages can Ball. He tore up the minor leagues. I'm glad he's getting a shot now.
Yeah the guy is primed for a breakout.
Michael Busch 😢
At ST he was far and away the biggest stand out. At one point some screams “Gve that Man a Job!”
One more win to get the sweep. Good to see Gavin Lux getting some hits and Andy Pages as well. LET'S GO DODGERS!
I love seeing you every video, go Dodgers!
@@kellenthemelon226It's been awhile. Good to see you, too.
Shohei's MVP rival is by his side.
He's gonna win mvp and Soto in the AL
Highly likely the cost the Dodgers paid to acquire Shohei Ohtani was a bargain.
Ohtani is a BEAST!
I remember leaving in the bottom of the 8th then when I looked back at the score the dodgers scored 3 more runs 😂
The shohei we all want to see!💙
Ohtani been cooking the whole season, wutchu mean?
@@ryantuttle7551he means that now he doesn’t have to hit home runs and is enjoying the game hitting the ball😊
It’s time for dodger baseball!!!
The atmosphere in the Dodgers' dugout is very good. Otani felt betrayed and alone after being left by his former interpreter,Mizuhara, whom he considered family. However, now he feels that his Dodgers teammates are becoming his new family. Otani is, of course, an amazing player, but he is also human. The support from his teammates, support staff, and fans is surely reaching him. I think that's why he's been smiling more often lately.
Thanks Dr.Phil
Mizuhara was not a teammate; he was an employee.
@@HeathcoatmanHe was not a teammate, but an interpreter. My apologies for the mistake.😅
well....he did just get married and signed a 700 mil contract...can't imagine he's feeling down.
@@elasmojones Imagine if you lost your mother in a car accident, but at the same time your father survived. The feelings of sadness and joy are compatible.
Another good back to back victory by the dodgers after dropping 10 out of 13 this was well needed back back.
Good to see hits all around. Good for Knack getting the win.
People don't realize how good a year Ohtani had last year. I mean he hit what almost .330 with almost 50 home runs and 100 runs batted in and stole almost 40 bases.
He's awesome. Hope he hits over 40 several times with the Dodgers.
The Dodgers are starting to heat up! Seeing 6-9 produce and come in clutch these last couple games is what this offense has been missing. Everybody needs to contribute, not just the superstars. This is a good sign going into May and a problem for the rest of the league lol. Redemption has been restored securing the series with the W. Let's finish strong and go for the sweep!!! 💙💪🏽
I'm sorry to lose Busch, but Pages's performance pleased Dodger fan.😊
I do miss Michael Busch as well.
This is what we all expect this offense to look like Betts, Ohtani, and Smith leading the team and the bottom of the lineup passing the baton back to them. Great to see everyone contributing. Pages is doing really well too. Hope he sticks around and continues to grow. Solid pitching performance from Knack as well. All around great team effort and the final score reflects that
If the dodgers figure out the bottom of the line up this will be a very hard team to beat
Mookie is simply amazing at this point. If he can keep this up and Ohtani plays like he can that will take the pressure off the bottom of the lineup
Love to see the Dodgers awake!
Shohei's going to win MVP again.
Mookie
I love Ohtani, but it's Bett's year this year.
Elly de la Cruz
what’s that?
@@chinitopinoy1726 It would be awesome to see these two teammates pushing each other to a greater height while having a friendly competition for the MVP! It's already a fun season to watch them.
Is this the start of daily domination? We shall see. The Dodgers are clicking right now.
What a team.
This is what the season is supposed to look like from this lineup 20 hits 10+ runs
Andy Pages looks like the real deal.
Having a power hitter at the bottom of the lineup really helps. I hope he hits 8th most of the time and doesn't move up to the middle of the order. I hope Teoscar Hernandez can handle hitting 6th most of the year so Pages can keep hitting 8th.
Totally agree. It's not easy making a number like 84 look good, but he's doing it.
Need to find him a batting helmet that fits.
Pitching always beats good hitting. Wait until next year when Ohtani comes back as a pitcher. Give Yamamoto one more year to acclimate fully to MLB. And go after Sasaki next year. That will be a super team.
I'll give him five and half hours 😄. He's pitching today so hope he does great. Hadn't thought about it until I read your comments but sometimes players will turn it on in the second half. Maybe Yamamoto will get locked in sometime this season.
Six scoreless innings. Great game from Yamamoto.
Dodgers are looking good! Shohei is looking like Shohei!
6:03 I like goofy moments like this, both of them just freeze up, completely still for a moment lol. And then good sportsmanship afterwards 🤝🤝
LET'S GO DODGERS!
I was happy to see Sho-time again today ❤
Will Smith is my favorite Dodger, just gets the job done at the plate and behind it every day
I had a customer today who looked just like Will. Made my night 🥰
And he will remain a Dodger for the next decade. :-)
@@KDF1974 Yessssss! I was so glad when he signed that long contract!!!!
Pure domination. THINK BLUE!
Dodgers on the roll again let's go !!!!
Pages makes a huge difference instead of Taylor.
This team is lethal when they're in the zone.
That ballpark is huge! A lot of the Dodgers doubles would be homers in a lot of other ballparks!
i like the dimensions of this ballpark. I wish Dodger Stadium went back to the dimensions they originally had. It seems too easy to hit homers there now...
I'm a Nats and Dodgers fan!! But I love my fuckin Dodgers!! Let's go for the 💙🧹
Great outing, Dodgers!
Yeah Baby Love me my Dodgers 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 Number 1 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
I'm a Nats and Dodgers fan! But GO DODGERS!! 💙
Pages is going to be sick with his power.
Get Pages a helmet that fits hahahah
The Nats center fielder is scared of the wall huh lol 😂
Goodjob boys🎉
I can't wait to see O Pitch.
Turn up that Randy Newman 🤩💙😎👍
Ok ok....they feeling it. These Dodgers are not half bad😂🍻
Dude I thought muncy was gonna hit the cycle when we had 3/4 in the 5th 😂😂😂 I woulda died
Ohtani is the best in the world. Where the haters at?😂
Agreed
There were haters? I didn't know that. I thought any true fan would admire a player who can pitch and hit at such high levels.
@@rluellam you’ll be surprised, there where a lot of people calling him “overrated” 💀
@@reycantu When he came into the league in 2018, many so-called experts and insiders said he would not adjust to MLB pitching. LOL!
Shohei will hit like 80 doubles this year😂
80 doubles and 40 home runs sounds good.
Andy Pages need to hit in number 5 spot...
Betts should have scored at Shohei's last double. Then Shohei could have got a triple, too.
同意
I'm just mad about 1 thing, I didn't get a chance to bat in tonights game. I think I could've gotten a hit. Go BLUE!!!
Why did the score go from 12-2 to 11-2?
At 8:13, Shohei's knocks in a double, which drives in Pages but for some reason Mookie stops at 3rd, so it was just 9 runs then, not 10. After then Freedie drove in the final 2 Dodgers' runs
Looks like a broom job 🧹
Relief pitching is really a problem.
Forreal. Doyers need to pick up on that. Doesn’t help that majority of our Aces are on the IL smh. Can’t always rely on Tyler to come in for the W since he’s our ace. Our relievers keep throwing BBs left and right smh
I thought he was talking about the Nationals. Grove, Vesia and Yarborough have all been pitching better.
@@richstrobel ahh okay. Maybe, didn’t clarify. As far as us, Yarbrough and Grove for sure. Vesia… Idk, I mean I haven’t been catching up on any of the recent games, but I’ve seen him give off HRs from fastballs
Joe Kelly is having the toughest season so far. Hope he turns it around.
Really hating how long ads are now UA-cam…
Listen, Landon Knack has got a helluva live arm. We Just gotta make sure he doesn't follow the Max Muncy nutrition and training program and I like his future.
Thank you for being faster than the MLB channel. They are a bunch of snails.
I missed the whole game. Too busy in class 😅
LETS GO DODGERS!!!
Dear editor, it would be nice if you can turn up the video a bit, every time I end a MLB video and play others, the sound scares the shit out of me
James out raked in AAA...and started well in the dodgers.....but did not last.....big fizzle out....i dont think Andy Pages will fizzle out.....
how did the game end up 11 to 2.
When it was 12 to 2 earlier?
Trying to figure that out myself
Edit: found it. They added an extra run on accident on Ohtani's hit where Mookie held at 3rd.
Get The Knack.
とても見やすいハイライトでした!7号は惜しかった!
If Muncy gets hot watch out.
First. I love my Dodgers!!
I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion but Stephen Nelson is a great person and I liked him on mlb network and I like him as an analyst for the dodgers but his announcing doesn’t do it for me
A good Japanese descriptive word for LAD batting lineup tonight is Hentai
Pages Roty already
Dodgers over Yanks in 7 in the fall classic.
Maybe Dodgers and Orioles. But I'm from Maryland originally. Any one see Kimbrel's stats? 😮 It's early but he's doing great.
Can we get Andy a helmet that fits 😂
I’m running out of patience with outman
SHOHEI OHTANI🇯🇵🗾
Aquí parra LOS DOYERS
Shohei ohtani is a cheat code
Is Shohei Ohtani no more pitching?
Recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Without Kershaw and Roberts, Dodgers might have a chance!
Neither favored for espys man awards this year go teams go
Dodgers kings lakers let's fkin goo kings winnnnwooo
That's two triples now that Betts and the third base coach cost Ohtani and two runs scored for Betts. That's explains why he has so many more doubles than everybody else in the league. Maybe address that to the team at some point. 🤔 🤔
Been saying the Dodgers baserunning has been very conservative if not restrictive. Mookie is fast, otherwise he wouldn't be leading off. Let him fly so you can let Ohtani fly too.
The third base coach is old and slow. Dino the Dinosaur. He has been a problem for a while. Roberts will not do anything about it.
blue crew shoulda saved some of these runs for thursday's game versus nats best pitcher. so typical for teams winning laughers follow up by laying a goose egg
Ohtani wtf
Go DODGERS!⚾⚾⚾👍 FREE artist: FAT PAT
U can shoot it but don't do its
The nationals looked like a little league team
Minor league defense tho
Lame pitching with decent stuff
If you have any insights or analysis, I would appreciate if you could explain the following two things regarding Yamamoto: Why he only throws a four-seam fastball, cutter, splitter, and curveball. he can threw 2seam slider shoot in NPB Why he hardly throws high four-seamers.
Cuz he’s not confident with the pitch yet.
My guess is how the strike zone in npb is much wider compared to mlb, which tends to be taller. Mlb will call pitches up in the zone for strikes and batters will chase cause of that. Imanaga seems to have adjusted to this difference while yamamoto is still learning. Id suspect the pitching coach wants to him to utilize this part of the zone and has him working on 4 seam. His 2 seam worked in npb but might not work in mlb cause umps wont reward them for strikes nor will batters go after those pitches. I wouldnt be surprised if its takes a year for yamamoto to adjust mlb strike zone and hitters
@@abcdeeer Thank you for your insights. You make a good point - the MLB strike zone does tend to be wider on the outside compared to NPB, especially with umpires like Angel Hernandez (laughs).
Since you mentioned Imanaga, let me explain the differences between him and Yamamoto using data. Imanaga is more of a flyball pitcher who traditionally pounds the upper part of the zone with a high-spinning four-seamer. And being a left-hander, his delivery gives hitters a different look that is tough to pick up initially.
On the other hand, Yamamoto is more of a pitcher in the mold of Darvish - using an array of pitches while commanding a large strike zone. Yamamoto's calling card is excellent control that allows him to work all quadrants.
Looking at Yamamoto's data, his curveball is excellent, but his other pitches don't deviate much velocity-wise from overall averages. So he needs to mix up his pitches to keep hitters off-balance, but he's been limiting his repertoire, which is puzzling. Additionally, the data shows Smith hasn't really been calling for elevated four-seamers.
Interestingly, Japanese broadcasters were saying during their coverage that Smith's game calling is problematic, suggesting Yamamoto may be better off calling his own game next outing.
If you have any other insights or information on these points, I'd be interested to hear them. Let me know if this translation accurately captures your thoughts.
That’s more like it. That’s how we supposed to be hitting! Let’s go flopgers!!!!!
Ohtani be like "Double or out"
Absolutely rubbish pitching by nationals
Othanison!
Washington looks like they're gay the way they move the hips
First
First!
To all the weirdos overseas who talk to me in weird English using Google Translate
I think you should use your native language
And what was the deal with the nationals ugly uni’s they wore yesterday?
👎🏽
It's their nike's "city connect" jersey. That's why you could see some cherry blossoms 🌸 on their jersey, for the Washington connection. They're hit and miss. I'm surprised you didn't like those. They're some pretty bad ones. I would say the Dodgers is much worse
Using money but no brain. U guys will be failed this season LA.
???
I guess you didn't pass remedial english?
If we perform like this in October, its game over.
People aren’t going to talk about it. But, I “will.” Will Smith is the Dodgers most consistent hitter. He’s super underrated. 🫡
The team plays much worse on every Barnes start.
I wish he was a consistent hitter against the Padres in the playoffs 2 years ago. He left 16 runners on base in 4 games! Ugh!!!
@@kellykarcher7179 New year. New Will. 🙂↕️
@@john98321 I certainly hope you're right. Especially in the postseason!!
