I just got this bad boy and I absolutely LOVE it. It's like driving a sports car, but it's an SUV. The tech is top notch as well and the inside is absolutely gorgeous, especially at night with the ambient lighting!

@@NotSoHandyCarGuy Just took delivery of my (our) 2021 X3 M40i (love it) and the deal was sealed when wifey watched the video with your companion leaning the seat back and mentioning it would be easy to sleep in. I love the power, sound, and styling, she loves the nap factor lololol
I’m going to test drive one of these. I may order one fully loaded. Every option. Anyone have any insight on ride quality between the 20” and 21” wheels? I’m in the North East and want to be able to drive in winter with rain and such. Kinda thinking all season tires.

this is one of the best all around cars on sale right now. that launch was brutal! im shocked how fast it is. faster than my 540i (admittedly this has more power than my car)
We pickup our m40i factory order tomorrow morning! Easily one of the most enjoyable vehicles I've ever driven!

@@NotSoHandyCarGuyIn your opinion is it worth it adding the Harman Kardon speakers to the vehicle? Is there a true difference with sound or does the car sound just fine with the standard speakers?
@@user-zs5bs1cg4t To be honest, I haven’t heard the regular speakers. But the Harmon/karden is REALLY good. If you’re a real audiophile, I’d go test out both at a dealer. But I’m sure for most people the regular ones will be fine. 👍🏼

We have a 2021 X2 M35i, and even the M35i is badass. But the 3.0 in this M40i sounds so much better than the 2.0 in the M35i.

I know right, man? I was never a huge fan of BMW until their recent interiors. And they’ve done such a good job with this one. Could you image this against the S6? 😂
S6 would dust this car....even though I like this way better and am getting one soon.
I buy one 2 weeks ago and I tell you x3 m40i 2021 is a beautiful and very fast . Same like this but the champán seat 💺 and carbon fiber . I love it . Rim 21 . Front 245/40/ r21 back 275/ 35/ r21 and stick very good 👍 in corner. Love it

too much car for a wife
Bought mine the day after Christmas. The salesman looked me right in the eye and said he would guarantee me I’d have it in 12 weeks and probably even sooner. He called me a a couple weeks ago and said it won’t be ready until the end of April. And people wonder why car salesmen have bad reputations?

Any comment on ride quality of adaptive suspension vs standard suspension?
I cant seem to get the "Launch" prompt to appear? Is there a certain order of operations that makes it show up? Also read somewhere it only turns on after the first service? Any help is appreciated! Love this car!
In 3.9 seconds? Holy Jesus I never tested it myself but I am surprised lol. Also when you launch the car is it good to hold it longer or shorter?
I know man I was just as surprised to see that time! Especially when BMW claims 4.4 sec. i’m not sure that it really matters, because launch control is only active for three seconds. I actually didn’t do it right in this video. When launch control is activated, a little checkered flag is supposed to pop up on the digital display.
@@NotSoHandyCarGuy One of the main reason I went with the X4 M40i is because BMW claims about the 4.4 seconds which I was already happy with, 3.9s just blows my mind. I watched a few other videos such as Thestrightpipes (They did a review on a 2018 x3 m40i) and they said in order to get the most ideal launch it is best to hold it longer to build more boost.
The sound is more like a stock B58 right? Not even close MPPSK sound ?

How did you come up with the 0-60 mph time being 3.9 sec?
I matched the speedo up with the frames in my editing software, so it’s fairly accurate. But I t’s probably closer to 4 sec. Wish I had my dragy unit when I did this vid

What mods would you like to do ? Nice ride but always room for improvement imo .
It’s my mother’s car, and she’d kill me if I missed it haha. But if I could I think I’d just do a stage 1 tune, intake, down pipe/exhaust. It already makes great power, and a simple tune you’d make crazy gains.
I love how you didn't blur out the speedo. The acceleration on this SAV is remarkable! How's the fuel economy when driven like that?

I drive mine pretty hard at times and it’s not that bad. Average 21mpg. If I’ve been exclusively in Sport and only backroads then maybe 19mpg.

Great car, nice regular guy's video as such. But you seem to sit too far away, too lean back. Your arms are too straight to have total control of the car. Or is it just some video distortion?
Thank you! And it’s a combo of both, really. The GoPro I was filming on has massive barrel distortion and it makes the subject look much farther away than it really is. And I was sitting far back to get a better perspective for the camera.

is the 20 inch rims worth the upgrade or are the 19 inch M rims good enough?
I think the 20’s look perfect, but 19’s are just fine. And you can always get a different diameter later

I’m gonna be honest, I’ve never personally driven an X3M. But I hear that they’re close enough to where it starts to become difficult to justify the price difference. Especially with this model’s tuning capabilities, you could be making more than an X3M with just a flash tune.

How to get launch control active?
Turn traction control off, push the brake down all the way, then press the gas pedal all the way down. Boom, you have activated launch control.

Are you sure it’s stock. This car can do 60 in 3.9s?
100% stock. It came brand new off the lot. BMW is know for underrating their performance specs. I know it’s hard to believe a sub-4 sec 0-60.
@@NotSoHandyCarGuy I have a 19 M40i with 355hp, I don’t think I ever even reach under 4.5s
@@ericuh14 Oh that’s cool. Are you 100% sure you’re launching it correctly? The newest straight 6 in the 2021 conservatively makes 382hp, which definitely contributes to this sprint. This was also at sea level, in cool weather which helps.
@@NotSoHandyCarGuy 27 more hp will not make 0.5 seconds different right? I should able to get under 4.5 least?
Yeah I’d say. Just make sure you’ve got traction control off, and the car in its sportiest setting. Then jam the brake and gas, then release off the brake. It should get you under 4.5 I’d think 🤷🏼♂️
