  • In this Lightroom tutorial, I will show you how to turn a daylight photo that could be boring into a moody darker Harry Potter style photo!
Check out My good Friend Jamie R Mathlin on 500px and follow him here: 500px.com/Selb...
You will learn in Lightroom to use the radial filter and brushes to transform the photo and make into a dramatic photo.

I am so addicted to your videos - they are the highlight of my week! I have always thought of photography as, "making art with light." You really take this to the next level! Your photos are beautiful and video presentation is totally engaging. Thank you SO much Serge!

Serge, I started watching you a few years ago doing the hotel rooms in Paris. I've always been fascinated with the way you create light. It seems to me that this is even better than before. While your videos have always been great, to me it seems that now you are really in the mode of teaching by showing and explaining, rather than just showing. You're really putting in the effort. I hope it pays off well for you. I love this. Thank you for your hard work and sharing.

Amazing technique, to do this more realistic you have to understand how is the light cast on different types of lights, for example the light at 09:50, it casts the light to the sides and not below.

Really like the dramatic re-lighting of the scene. I certainly will try this at home. I can see how doing this in Lightroom (instead of Photoshop) with sliders at each pin area, as it is more convenient to adjust sliders back and forth when changing the global lighting and then local area lighting again so there is balance and believe-ability.

Nice video. One suggestion is to be aware of corners. When the light is added above the "BRICAdiCORNICI" sign about the 8:15 and the erase brush is used is used to shape it, the added glow extends around the corner and on the wall down the street above the orange hued window. Obviously, that would not happen in reality.

very nice tuto. Are you using a wacom or Xp-pen tablet with LR/ACR ? LR is by default "pressure changes opacity" but it is lagging a lot with respect to mouse so it is awful, too much or nothing. in general my LR has become very slow. i have improved it by removing dynamic collections and disconnecting LR mobile.

thanks. same for me, brush in LR, wacom intuos pro small or XP-PEN G640 in photoshop (XP-PEN works better in win10 than wacom i think).
and what about Luminar 3. do you use a tablet ? i have tried and it is awful, lagging, hard to play with opacity. moreover i wonder when we will have a edge detetction in luminar.

Here are a couple of ideas for future videos. 1 - take raw photo submissions from your viewers and edit them in your style. 2 - collaborate with other landscape photographers and do a challenge where you both (or all) capture the same subject in your own style and share the differences.
