- BareBonesMusic.com got a chance to sit down with Aaron Matts (vocals) and Victor Guillet (keys, vocals) from the Paris, France based band BETRAYING THE MARTYRS on the second date of their first U.S. tour. The guys spoke with Evil G. about the tour, their new record "BREATHE IN LIFE," the importance that the band use their music to deliver a positive message and their take on what Betraying The Martyrs bring to hardcore music. They also talk about getting the opportunity to speak and meet with American fans on tour, what they like most about touring in the states and feedback they get from fans on their music and what inspires them and much more! Totally. They seem like such down to earth, humble dudes. Especially the vocalist. Its funny how someone can sound so fucking brutal and angry yet be so well spoken and modest
2:16 so true, It pisses me off when people tell me that metal sounds demonic or angry or anything like that, I'm always super happy when I'm jamming to metal!!!! These guys are cool

I've been watching their interviews for a while now, and it seems that Aaron is really smart... Seriously, he's down to earth and sees things really open minded... Love it :)
Those clips were from Louisville! That show was amazing. I went to see Born Of Osiris and had never heard of Betraying The Martyrs until then. I now know how awesome they are. Nice guys too, I got to meet em.
I saw them on their first tour to the US! I met Aaron, he's an extremely cool dude, they're 10 times better live than recorded, and with that being said, their album is phenomenal. Everyone should go pick it up, they're by far my favorite metal band.
These guys are so cool to hang out with! Super nice and crazy funny forreal. Aaron tried to even get me to play in the local band cause thier singer didn't show up haha
they are honestly REALLY nice like they said. most bands are chill and all but there was just something about them that made them great.

French band... never got big in U.S.? Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! I know they're not huge but they were at Warped this year and are amazing. But I think these guys are better.
@toomanytoes34 i dont know what fucking bands you listen to. most metal bands, US or not, are humble. at least the ones i listen to.

Are you insane? The reason they say this is because their music wasn't accepted in france. They made music mainly geared towards the taste of music that is prevalent in America. They are Europeans and I'm sure you're taking this waay out of context.
Two totally different types of bands. lol
In this video, they just admit that they have counterfeit US generic deathcore aiming to have sucess.
This is cultural imperialism, and I don't want to listen French metal that sound like yours.
This is bad for cultural diversity. I don't think they're genuine.
But I don't want to spit on anyone, they are hard workers, good musicians, and, no doubt, nice guys, but the approach seems fake to me.
