unfortunately it seems like a lot of the german public transport games that are published by aerosoft end up like this. lots of potential that never really goes anywhere. I'm expecting this one to be no different.
Let me explain some things: 2:51 thats like a reverser so you can choose forward/backward driving direction etc. 4:00 thats a speed limiter. I personally always set it to 50kph. 4:40 the left one is parking brake on/off/auto, the right one is the cabin light. The light in the middle shows if the parking brake is active. 17:22 is a feature of the game. Sometimes you have to stand up and walk to the person blocking the door, then there is a (german) voice saying something like "could you please go away from the door?"
but one extra tip to give is that Squirrel did put the wrong destination, he was at prater and set the destionation to from stefa to prater, instead of the other way, so she shouldn't have said "wintenstrasse" but prater hauptallee. And also, their is going to be another tram the E2 vienna tram

I was a Tramdriver in Graz, Austria. The hardest part about this job is to avoid crashes by always be ready to get on the brake! This sim is pretty cool but i wish it will become some failure system, like doors not locking in, or ice on the overhead line. Sanding should be a big part because it's the most used feature when driving a Tram. Also, weather should take influence. Hope this thinks will make it in the sim and many more. Nice video and always remember: PASSENGERS WILL NEVER GIVE YOU CREDIT :D

@@TeleportingBread161 i honestly believe 99% of games start with pure passion, but quickly money and business and life shows the dev's that passion takes sacrifice, and well.. the gaming community isn't worth shit in a shoe overall, so you can half make your game with the best ability and charge whatever as all these gonks will just pay and then complain anyways, giving hopes you'll add the basics that should of already been in an end of 2020 released game. you know the same way of process EA releases fifa been minimally worked on if not destroyed more every year for a bunch of either underage kids or overage adult men pouring tens if not hundreds and even still in cases thousands of pounds for little players for there ultimate team, which they did the same for the year before, and the year before. same practice the sim genre has fell into sadly, things like car mechanic simulator etc, not even a simulator by any means in my opinion but gets the badge and a yearly repetitive release of something gimmicky being added or some polishing touches to the graphics, much like fifa in my opinion. sorry thats my 2 cents.
oh wow, I immediately recognized the tram and route even before you mentioned where it takes place. I was in Vienna in 2019 when I visited europe and took this route out to that park and back. I tottally recognized it right away when loading this video up, it goes into that park and loops around and comes back to central Vienna. I just took it out to see the city, walked around that park at the beginning of your video for about 40 min, then took the tram back into central Vienna near my hotel one afternoon. 😁 I'm from Winnipeg, Canada,

Or rather recognisable - The trees arent in the middle of the walkway. But stores and other deatails are reeeaaally accurate I would love it if you showed the entire route. (in all fairness that vid would probably be and hour long). I am considering to buy that game just because i know that area and would love to have game featureing it.

I appreciate your summary back when you made this, I've just picked it up now for £16 with benefit of the additional DLC content and numerous fixes it has had. Really enjoying the almost OMSI 2 feel. I like sims that just give you a sandbox to play in, none of this "locked" content behind tenuous story modes. More than happy to play Timetable modes.
I ran this whole route earlier and it grows on you the better you learn the stops just beware of the red signals and this (---) tram stop sign. Squirrel the manual is on the Steam sales page ;)

10:47 that is very realistic attention to detail when speaking of Vienna's passengers. They'll stare at you as if they're annoyed when you talk to anyone.
Bought the game after watching your video. A very nice and relaxing game. But it also lacks a lot. Tried to just ram power to the max and burned though every stop and bend at max speed. Drove straight through both people and cars without anything happening. I needs collision detection and penalties for speeding, running a red light etc.
Take Google-Translater - The panel ist in German, when you know, is a Vienna-Vehicel. Federspeicher = Handbrake / Fernlicht = lights / Kabinenlicht = Cabin Lights......But i like this Game. looks great.
first 2 Seconds - shows the tram station right around the corner where i work :) nice ! WOW - this looks like real life. i know every building along the route, its correct.
As of 14.12.2020 the Flexity (atleast if Wikipedia is correct) only has 16 Units built. 301-316. More are still to come and replace the E2 trams. They will opearate with the ULF trams on all routes (ULF=Ultra Low Floor)
Few things, at the beginning you selected the wrong route, it was the other way round the tram your using is actually a prototype and will most likely not be used since its to small there are definitely heavy vehicles in vienna, they just aren't modelled passengers holding up the doors are definitely realistic, you wouldn't believe the amount of times that happens the whole thing is ok modelled, the route is accurate the environment is a little lacklustre and i think he game itself was more like promo to promote the new trams you see in game
Since I live in Vienna, I noticed that at the end (e.g. 23:50) the wrong stations were displayed and announced. You were driving close to the Donaukanal (more precisely the Urania theather in the 1st district), whilst the tram insists it was in the distant surrounding of the Gürtel (more precisely close to Matzleinsdorfer Platz in the 5th district). There is quite a bit of distance between those locations, without fact-checking I would guess approximately 8-10 stations.
I RIDE THIS LINE EVERY DAY... Literally every single sign, business, trash can, bush, random patches on the street are exactly as it really is in Vienna.
The display of the Tram and the City are quite precise. Besided that, you have dialed in the wrong direction. You're coming from Prater Hauptallee and going to Stefan-Fadinger-Platz. So all your stations are in the wrong order. I wonder that the game doesn't seem to mind and still shows a proper timetable. ;-)
While it only has one tram, one route, etc...it also sells for the same price as a major Train Sim World route. If TSW did a Vienna Tram route, I'd happily buy it, so I'm ok with this as well.
At least in Zurich currently the trams open all doors at all stations so passengers don't have to push the buttons maybe that's why AI sometimes glitched for you leaving or entering. Also air circulation is much improved like that.

Great review and congrats on 800k! Have you heard anything from the developers of SimRail or Trans Siberian Railway Simulator? Your thoughts on these will always be welcome.

I really find the selection of cars in this game really interesting. 90% are like upper class limosines, some vans and of course a 2000ish Hyundai i10 ^_^
This is the style of game i wanted to see for so long! The problem at the moment is that it just costs too much for what it offers... I hope they will improve on it, and hopefully we will see a couple of additions to the game without them being DLCs.
Costs aside, the minimum storage requirement is also a bit steep. I get that it’s very detailed (and it is BEAUTIFUL) but I’m really not willing sacrifice 15 gigs for a such a lack of variety.
Thanks for the review. It looks promising but you're right, they need more trams, routes and world interaction. I woud also want weather, scenarios (like sporting events, comic-con and people in cosplay, some kid running around bugging people, more controls that do something, traffic, etc.). I'd pay $10 on sale but that's it.
This game look bad. Gameplay wise? You drive forward on empty streets closing and opening doors on stops and nothing else. And there is only one route? Yeah I will stick to OMSI.
25km route for a tram isn't that bad relative to the short TSW routes for high speed trains. Bugged passengers, current lack of modding, yeah it's comparable to TSW.
This game has got potential to be a good game. All they need to do is put more maps, routes, trams and weather.

I've lived in Vienna for 3 and half years. Man they nailed it here. The atmosphere and locations are spot on.

It’s certainly not always sunny in Vienna. The day we visited it poured down and the shops sold out of umbrellas.
They should have done Melbourne, the biggest tram network in the world. :D

Thanks for the review. It looks promising but you're right, they need more trams, routes and world interaction. I woud also want weather, scenarios (like sporting events, comic-con and people in cosplay, some kid running around bugging people, more controls that do something, traffic, etc.). I'd pay $10 on sale but that's it.

This game look bad. Gameplay wise? You drive forward on empty streets closing and opening doors on stops and nothing else. And there is only one route? Yeah I will stick to OMSI.

25km route for a tram isn't that bad relative to the short TSW routes for high speed trains. Bugged passengers, current lack of modding, yeah it's comparable to TSW.
